Perhaps I can work it off in your Ft Myers area office as I have many clerical skills (excellent with customer service, excellent people person, excellent file clerk, receptionist, switchboard operator, computer literate, payroll, babysitter, bookkeeping, go fer, Gal Friday will make coffee, clean your toilets, examing rooms, would like to learn new career, etc-can work Monday through Thursday). moreOpen Question: Virgin holidays false advertising made me book holiday?
Hi there,
I am looking for peoples opinions on this matter.
I booked a holiday through Thomson with Virgin holidays to go to Florida for 14 nights in March 2010 for my birthday.
My girlfriend & I were going to cancel this holiday and visit Australia at the end of 2010 but we had a USA brochure from when we booked the holiday to Florida and having looked through this brochure we saw an excursion to Universal Studios Hollywood in Los Angeles which said, "The NEW Universal VIP Experience - Be among the select few to gain ultimate access to the world of film-making with your own exclusive 6-hour tour of closed locations of sets such as Wisteria Lane and CSI. The VIP Experience also includes front-of-line access to all shows and attractions, and reserved seating for shows." so we decided rather than canceling the holiday we decided to change it to visit West Coast USA, it cost us £25 each to change the booking and also brought the holiday cost up considerably but felt it would be worth it as we are huge fans of CSI.
We changed the holiday from 14 nights in Orlando to 7 nights in Los Angeles, 4 nights in San Francisco & 4 nights in Las Vegas (We booked Los Angeles to visit CSI and as the other destinations are only a short flight away we thought we may as well try these also). Approx cost was £2500+ for the holiday but as we booked the hotel in Los Angeles direct there is another £1000 on top.
I contacted the VIP Experience manager at Universal Studios Hollywood and was stunned when they informed me NO tour allows access to the CSI set, she told me even though CSI is filmed at Universal Studios, they rent the stage out to the competitor network so they have no way of allowing guests access to the set as they have no control over it.
I contacted Virgin Holidays as I was very angry as we only booked this holiday to visit CSI - Virgin claimed you could visit CSI, I explained what I had been told by the VIP Experience manager at Universal Studios Hollywood and they emailed me back claiming they would remove all advertisings stating you can visit CSI and update all their advisors about this and as a "goodwill gesture" they would offer us transfers in San Francisco and Los Angeles (we had already paid for transfers in San Francisco) or 7 nights car hire, I emailed back and refused this.
I have now found this advertisement in three different editions of Virgin's USA brochure. I called a few times after this and the agents I spoke with still claimed they could allow us access to the CSI set and tried to sell me this product.
The Universal Studios Hollywood VIP manager suggested I ask Virgin Holidays for the name of their contact at Universal Studios Hollywood who Virgin claim told them guests could visit the set of CSI as no-one at Universal Studios Hollywood know you cannot visit the set of CSI. Virgin would not provide me with this information and said due to DPA I cannot discuss my holiday with them (even though I had been before) and I would have to get Thomson to contact them to get this information and discuss my holiday - Thomson called them but told me I could visit CSI and tried to sell me it. (Even though Customer Relations at Virgin said they would update all their staff and confirmed I couldn't visit CSI).
I called again and the man I spoke with told me "...sets such as Wisteria Lane and CSI." meant it wasn't actually those sets you get to visit, it was sets of shows with a similar concept of these mentioned. I questioned how much money we would loose if we cancelled the holiday now but he said he would have to put me on hold to find out this information, I told him to forget it as I had wasted hours of my time and the phone calls were costing a lot of money.
I got an email from the original staff member at the Customer Relations Dept in Virgin Holidays who said she see's on the notes on my account that I'd been told I'd loose 50% of the holiday cost if we cancelled (we were not told this as we told the agent we weren't being put on hold again) and she offered us the transfers and car hire previously offered plus an additional £50 each for my girlfriend and I as they didn't want us to cancel but if I want to accept this then I have to write to them to accept it and cannot email them as I have been previously doing, I have not made contact since as I think this is totally unacceptable.
The VIP experience manager at Universal Studios gave me the Operations manager's contact details and he confirmed no tour offers access of CSI and they have no control over how travel agents advertise. He also advised me has worked at Universal Studios Hollywood for 30 years and he has never had access to the CSI set. He sent me a copy of the daily call sheet (which the public don't normally get to see) which showed all the productions for that day, which included CSI. On this sheet it states very clearly that there's strictly no access available to the set of CSI unless the shows producers haThe end part cut off. It should be unless the shows producers have given prior written notice.
We are not travelling until March.
Anyone have any similar experiences? Any opinions what I can do?

moreResolved Question: Engagement Ring advertised in Qantas InFlight Magazine?
Hi Everyone,
I flew qantas just a couple of days ago from Rockhampton to Townsville (Queensland, Australia) and in the plane they had a magazine called "InFlight" or something like that. My boyfriend was flicking through and I saw the engagement ring that I want - although he studied the page for a while and I tried to remember the Jeweller's name, I can't for the life of me remember it.
All I remember is that, I think the name of the Jeweller's started with "C" and was based in Melbourne & Sydney. It isn't "Cerrone" though - I already tried them.
I am pretty sure it was the January 2010 issue of the magazine. Does anyone happen to have a copy of this magazine, or are flying quantas in the near future?
The advertisement takes up a whole page on the right side of the magazine and is of a lady in a very sparkly wedding dress (I think she had short curly blond hair or something) and she was wearing the ring, and then it has a close up of the ring at the bottom of the page along with the website and name of the Jewellers.
The ring is white gold with a large (maybe 2ct) baguette (rectangle) diamond and also had two smaller pink diamonds on the band - further out from the centre diamond.
I would really appreciate if anyone is able to help me find this ring!Thank you NotSoFar! I have had a look on their website and can't find that particular ring anywhere :( But thank you so much!
moreOpen Question: Are there any ad sites that allow you to give users points for viewing the ads, and that pay in paypal?
So I'm currently designing a site, and I was thinking of adding some form of point system to it where you gain points for viewing ads. These would be special points that are treated as real money, but would have a limited range of items that you can buy with said points. Does anybody know if there are any advertising sites that would allow me to do such a thing (practically pay users to view the ads), and that would pay in paypal (and be family-friendly advertisements considering all the current viewers are under 15 years of age, some even being under 8 years of age)?
Note: If you know of any such sites that don't require any specific amount of unique viewers for your site to qualify for advertising other sites, it's a lot better..

How to use Internet Marketing.
In todays competitve world where there is no time even to read a newspaper completely, all at one stop seems to be the solution.
People just want to pose the problem and ‘kablam’- the answer. This can be achieved only through a media where solutions meet at one place - Internet. Since Internet seems to be the most preferred search answer domain, it is inevitable for industries to reach their hands in there too.
So how to use Internet Marketing? Simple, people type in their queries in Google and the search engine brings in all results containing the keywords. Hence the basic practical point is to create a website for the central product.
Secondly, social networking sites are the new-ins. So...? Create groups connect with people and post the advertisement. Not only will Google match the keywords, people will explore all horizons to the posted material.
Also SMTP can be used to send e-mail to multiple recipients. Hence send e-mail with attractive subject lines which catch eyes.
Professional link building tool can also be used so that the product get displayed in searches related to publics query
Also video is something which people are interested in seeing. Hence start with something spicy and then start advertising the product. The start should be like comedy for example so that people dont lose interest and may also rate the video which in turn would attract other people to watch them. Social sites like Facebook, Orkut etc have video library facility. Hence post them in your account. This would help other people related to you (friends) see the updates.
Also you can go to sites which have blogs and questions answered. E.g., yahooanswers, wiki snwers etc are where people pose question. Post suitable interesting answers and give hyperlink to the catchy words to the product to be marketed. Hence when the individual clicks the link he is directed to product advertisement.
Get yourselves registered to sms sites which provide free sms services. Write short and sweet advertisement for the product and send them as sms’s to the recepients. Dont forget to give contact id.
All these takes a little bit of hard work and research but the work does pay off.
Dont loose hope, carefully seleect your audience and impress them with the promises the product has.

i was wondering how can we publicize the information about these free classes. i initially thought of newspaper advertisements, but thats too costly (considering we are non-profit and never charge a penny, its difficult to keep advertising in a newspaper on a long term basis.)
Can anyone please guide, as to how can we inform people about this beautiful thing, using least possible resources as much as we can. (One thing i could think of was craigslist). Any suggestions are welcome.

You want to expand your company to newly settled areas. You would like to transport raw materials from areas in the South and West to industrial cities in the East and take manufactured products to areas where there is a demand. You are a catious businessman and do not want to over expand. You have decided to select three regions to swervice, to use several means of transportation, and to make sure your cargo carriers are loaded on both legs of the round trip. YOu must make good decisions in order to make a profit. What routes will ou choose, what products will you carry, and what types of transportation will you use?
1. In what areas will you place advertisements in the newspapers?
2. After the presentation, tell the class how transporting goods has changed in the 20th century."

And where would we want to advertise in the U.S.?
All help is appreciated! Thank you!!:DWhen they talk about the areas to advertise, they mean location (like, on a map), not where in a newspaper:)

hello
I have been noticing lately that there are many words in many webpages that have a green word here and there that when you click on them take you to a window that is an obnoxious advertisement for a somewhat unrelated online college or something. When did this happen recently and what is it called? In my opinion there is already too many opportunities for irritating ads on the web...now they have apparantley come up with this new form of advertisements.
I first noticed this by seeing a word highlighted in green on a wiki article I was reading...and I am used to a blue word being a ling that leads to further understanding of that highlighted word...but in the case of the green highlighted word...it takes me to a sometimes very unrelated advertisement that had nothing to do with the word...who thought of this and why is suddenly so rampant on so many places on the web? it seems to have suddenly popped up with no warning and I am wondering about the short new history of this form or yet another type of obnoxious web advertising for little needed products/services...especially overpriced "online degrees". WTF?

moreResolved Question: Who can I contact for help with this situation?
I had tenants (they were here when I took over the building) who recently moved. I had been trying to get rid of them. They were a huge nuisance but beyond that they were into drugs including dealing. They would hide their drugs all over the apartment so one another could not find their stash and steal them. (it was a mother boyfriend and 2 teenage children)
Since they have moved they and others are trying to get us to let them into the apartment. I have had people just stop by to see the apartment claiming they saw our advertisement in the newspaper. Which I did not have it advertised in the newspaper. Furthermore, it has not been advertised for awhile as it has been rented the couple just have not moved in yet. Everytime one of these people show up we talk with them and it always comes out that they know at least one of the people from the last family that lived there.
I have not shown any of these people the apartment. I have also had people messing around the apartment building. I have also found broken windows in the garage. Which I don't know why because there is nothing in there. We are having security cameras installed. But I wonder if they left drugs into the apartment. Friday, I had the people coming to sign their lease. When I got home from my CPR class a woman was here talking to my husband. He was about to let her into the apartment. I stopped him and asked her why she was here and she told me she wanted to see the apartment I told her no that it was rented the people were to be there any minute to sign the lease. The woman informed me that she was the sister of the gf of teenage son who had lived there.
I have another apartment available and asked my mother to show it to the woman so I could take care of the lease signing. Afterwards, my mother told me how the woman was not interested in seeing the apartment that was showed to her but she kept asking to go into the other apartment. She kept asking if we were lying about the lease being signed or were the people just there to see it. Later that day I caught the boyfriend (which this is really odd bc they supposedly had moved about 2 hours away) messing around the apartment when I asked what he was doing he had a note for me saying the tenant gave me the wrong forwarding address and he was just going to stick it on the door of the apartment. I took the note and he left.
I have searched the apartment to see if something was left behind but I have found nothing. I am a little concerned bc the couple moving in have a 4 year old daughter. I worry that the daughter may find something and ingest it. Can I call the police and ask them to search it w/ a k9 dog? or what can I do?Other than the possibility of drugs I do not know why it would be so important for them to get inside. Any suggestions?I have checked behind things. I even took the covers off of the radiators. The only place I have not looked is the fireplace and chimney. I have a professional coming to clean it. I have checked for loose boards or holes where things could be shoved. But then again I'm not a drug dealer so I can't really think like one.
We had been in touch with a NARC from the drug task force regarding this family and I have considered calling him asking him where to look (because they had someone on the inside) or if he could assist us in checking things out.I don't mean to make this so long but I wanted to add too that the note thing was especially weird bc I live in the apartment next door so the note could have easily been hung on my door not the door of the empty apartment. Also, I have caught the bf driving by very slow multiple times per day (again odd bc they were suppose to be moving so far away). The building is next to a dr's office. When day as I was leaving I caught him sitting in the parking lot of the Dr. Office watching the building. I know that they did not go to that dr (they went to the dr's who you pay and they give u prescriptions) So it just is all so strange and is making me a little paranoid.Trouble- Thank you so much! I never thought about the ceiling tiles!!! The one bedroom has a drop ceiling I have searched it endlessly but never thought of the ceiling!!! I will check that immediately.

I bought a 1990 toyota celica gt from someone this past weekend. In the ad for the car on craigslist, he listed that he had some engine repairs done to the car already, such as a new timing belt, thermostat and tuned it up. After purchasing the car, and driving it home, it started to overheat. I called my mechanic and he took a look at it and found a whole slew of things wrong including the thermostat and timing belt. I then took it to another mechanic for a second opinion and he said the same thing, that the water pump, timing belt, thermostat, coolant hose and other things need to be replaced. Estimated range from 400-700 to fix all these things and I paid 1600.00 for the car. I have tried contacting the seller to resolve this issue such as asking for a partial refund of about 300-400 dollars for those things that he falsely advertised, but he is not returning my calls. Do I have grounds to take him to small claims court over the amount? Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.
moreVoting Question: Shampoo and Conditioner Opinions Please?
So I've come to the conclusion that most shampoo's and conditioner's out there should be marked for false advertisement.
Most products that garentee smooth straight & silky hair usually give me the exact opposite and make my hair bigger and frizzer. Other products that are targeted for dry & damaged hair doesn't really help with dryness and I still have split ends. It also makes my hair seem dryer after i straighten it. I had to use my moms volumizing Shampoo & Conditioner when we traveled and my hair came out better then it normally did.
So here's my question. Do you think that people market this under false advertising to kind of trick people into buying more and more of the product? Like " Omg my hair isn't very moisturized! I need to use more of this conditioner to see a difference." or " My hair still seems flat. Maybe I should rinse and repeat with my volumizing shampoo to see a difference."
I'm starting to buy products that do the exact opposite for what i want for my hair and it seems a lot more manageable.
What do you guys think? Guys & Girls are included in this. I want Opinions.

Yet the only thing I did was I messed around a bit to entertain my friend. I asked a few people for money as a joke (one person gave me some). I also called a few people f4ggots at first this didn't seem too severe. I mean i didn't even get a warning no body even acted annoyed I was just another typical newb.
Anyway i'm just wondering where I went wrong and if sending an apology letter well help (which I did), I even sent a letter that said that I didn't even spam anyone (cause I know thats a serious offence).

So, I took the deer using a TC muzzle-loader, pyrodex, etc... The deer is an excellent 14pt double drop tine, with a split brow tine. I think it would be an excellent deer and story for companies to use for advertisement. I was wondering what the best way to go about contacting the companies would be, and is it even worth a shot, meaning do companies even do this sort of thing? Thanks a lot!

moreVoting Question: False Advertising Sprint $42.50 per line Plan?
I saw on TV an advertisement by Sprint for their Everything Data Family with Any Mobile, Anytime plan for $42.50 per line. When you call to get this plan you have four phones on the plan to get it...but wait, it's still more than the advertised price...it's $52.49 for each phone. Isn't this FALSE advertising?
I currently have two phones on a similar plan that cost me $129.99 per month and wanted to switch to the better price. I was told I needed to add two phones to do this even though the TV ad (which I have recorded) does NOT say this?
Is there anything that can be done about what appears to be FALSE advertising?
