Open Question: Internet Marketing Question - About PPC Ads?

Im currently making money online with Affiliate Marketing doing really well. Currently I do not pay for PPC Ads (I use a different method at the moment) and am kind of a n00b to PPC What I would be really happy with is 500 targeted Clicks per day.. BUT I ran a cost per impression advert on Facebook which failed miserably.. Is PPC Different? I mean if i set a budget which equaled 500 clicks per day on google ads would i achieve this? Facebook advertising is really bad - Will google be better I need to expand i do not own a website any advice would be really helpful How do you make your money? (There is no issue with what im trying to sell I only sell the most popular products) more

Resolved Question: Why does the government buy airtime on commercial channels for public service campaigns when we have a......?

....public service broadcaster. I know the BBC is not allowed to advertise, but it advertises itself between programmes so why not show the public service ad's instead. ie They show the anti-smoking campaign in between Coronation Street it costs the tax payer £45,000 they show it before Eastenders it costs us nothing. Does anyone know the reason behind this? The last goverment spent £560 million a year on such ad's.Joe - It must be different here, becuase in the breakdown of costs its shows a percentage of the advertising budget going to buy commercial space. more

Resolved Question: How to advertise my gaming website?

http://www.theoldgametalk.com I'm looking for help on how to advertise this website to the masses. I'm ranked number one on Google for "Gametalk", but that isn't helping me at all. I think it would appeal to people looking to post there because you don't need to register or activate anything, you just choose a username and password, post, and your account is automatically registered for you to login. It's self-created, too, No phpBB or Vbulletin or anything like that, so it has a more homely touch and can easily be updated. I've tried everything, really. Paid ads, advertising to my group of friends (instant messengers and Facebook), and I'm not sure what else to do. more

Resolved Question: Having started on my memoirs, is it best to go through a publisher or through a printer and do the ads myself?

its something I've been working on for a while now, and looks like two yellow pages books stuck together, whilst it may not be of general interest to those who aren't in my field, which is the best method, as I've heard publishers take most of the sale price, yet the advertising costs are also expensive. more

Resolved Question: Would you apply for this job?

Want Ad: Gynecologist's Assistant A retired man went into the Job Center in Downtown Denver, and saw a card advertising for a Gynecologist's Assistant. Interested, he went in and asked the clerk for details. The clerk pulled up the file and read; "The job entails getting the ladies ready for the gynecologist. You have to help the women out of their underwear, lay them down and carefully wash their private regions, then apply shaving foam and gently shave off the hair, then rub in soothing oils so they're ready for the gynecologist's examination." "The annual salary is $65,000, and you'll have to go to Billings , MT , that's about 550 miles from here." "Good grief, is that where the job is?" "No sir -- that's where the end of the line is right now." more

Resolved Question: Has anyone been to an interview at 7 models OR A-List models in London?

I looked on gumtree.com for jobs yesterday and sent a head-shot to a couple of ads asking for models for film/tv extras, catalogue, billboard and music videos. Indeed, if you go onto gumtree now you'll see the advert probably. I got a reply asking me to come for interview and bring in some professional shots (if I have them) or to bring in £10 and they'll take 15-20 for me. They say there is no registration or booking fees. It seems too good to be true, however, I feel the only thing that would be dodgy is if I went, got the photos done for a tenner and then they have full rights to the photos. Then they say something like "sorry, but we didn't think you fitted the bill bbblah bla bla" and they now have 15-20 shots of me that I PAID THEM TO DO which they can use freely to advertise anything they want. Any advice? more

Resolved Question: Company advertising for one job and have it be something totally different, is that legal?

An ad in the help wanted section of the newspaper is advertising for customer service representatives. For mainly electronics repair. The offer 2000/month to start and 1st week bonus! However I did some research and they are not even who they say they are on the phone. It ends up being a totally different job than what is advertised. Selling vacuum cleaners door to door and the pay is not even close to what they printed (only if you meet there quotas). I asked directly on the phone if any sales where involved I was flatly told no. So I checked it out and it ends up being nothing they advertise for. What I'm really asking is can you sue for false advertising of a job!!! more

Resolved Question: How do you feel about inane objects or run-of-the-mill products being sexualised?

Example - an ad for a data stick, featuring a woman in a bikini holding it; Healthy breakfast cereal featuring a woman dancing around in her knickers wiggling her backside to the camera; a new radio held between the breasts of some heavy chested lass - in a Bikini. Hell even aftershave held by some bloke in next to nothing, or motor insurance with some hunk. If its to advertise something sexual, okay - but basic things? So such ads cheapen women? Or sex? Are advertisers just desperate? IS there too much sexualising of mundane items causing harm to society? Or is it a good thing overall? Opinions pleaseOh yes - and this question's original catergory was = Science & Mathematics > Engineering - WTF!!! more

Resolved Question: Website Advertising, how?

Hey all, My website http://ukcoasters.com currently has adverts on it from Google Adsense. As you can guess from the link it is a website about rollercoasters. At the moment I'm getting adverts from all sorts of things. Is there a way to make Adsense generate ads ONLY about theme parks? Or, another idea, is it possible to ask the theme parks e.g. Thorpe Park, Alton Towers if they want me to advertise for them and if they have any ads for me to display? Its mainly because it looks horrible when there are ads saying do you want to buy this diamond ring when the whole site is about rollercoasters and theme parks. more

I went on Google ads but it put you just on the right column displayed when you search on Google only. How do you get advertised and how much it may costs? more

Resolved Question: I have got a problem with Ebay classified Ads.?

Hi Guys When I am listing my ad in classified ad category (e.g.Local services / Other Local Services) , I dont have option to insert postage as free. While I have seen many people who have advertised in the same category have option of Pickup only Free. This you can see when you try to search for a repair service (eg. mobile repair). And then go for Lowest P & P first. So they will all come up with Pick up only free. While my listing will come to the last page which will show NOT SPECIFIED under the postage section.I need this option of Pickup only FREE for my listings. I need a true answer for this problem. I know its just a setting somewhere but dont know where and I have gone through everything. Your help will be much appreciated. Thanks very much. Please note that Selling and advertising on Ebay both are different. I am speaking to ebay customer care since last week and they are not able to find a solution. Resolved Question: I am not sure where to place this question but am trying it here?

Resolved Question: did i loose my job unfairly?

I am housekeeper with over 20 years experience in the hotel industry. I have worked at 5 star luxury hotels and have left with glowing references. Most of my employers have commented on the high standard of my work and my references all state that i am highly recommended. After 3 years of working at a 4 star hotel I sadly was paid off as the company went into liquidation. I was unemployed for 6 weeks and applied for a job in a 3 star hotel. The hotel was of a much lower standard than i was use to and was much smaller. I was interviewed and offered the job. I didnt sign a contract, silly but at the time i didnt think as i was desperate for work. I worked there for 14 weeks and in this time i was constantly told that my work was excellent. I was asked to cover other peoples shifts and also given a second job covering breakfast shifts which i gladly accepted. After 14 weeks, i turned up to work and was informed that I was being let go as the hotel wasnt busy and there was no work. I was devestated but didnt see what I could do. I was assured that it had nothing to do with my work and my boss stated that he would give me a glowing reference. This happened on 29th january this year. I have since been searching for work and came across an posting on a well known website advertising for a housekeeping position in my area. I applied right away and sent my c.v via email as the ad requested. When i looked at the advert again I was shocked to discover that the position i applied for was in fact MY job! Im horrified as i know my work was of a high standard and i was paid off due to there being no work. While i was working there i was a little taken aback with the number of staff who were employed and sacked within a matter of weeks. Also, when i got my first wage slip I noticed that national insurance contributions had been taken from my wages but tax hadnt. After enquiring about this I had to contact the tax office and found out that I had been declared as self employed. I arranged to pay my tax and thought nothing more of it. I dont want to confront my ex-employer as i am still owed wages and I want paid before I rock the boat. Is there anything I can do about this situation after i get what im owed? Im really angry as the job market is not busy at the moment and jobs are few and far between. can anyone advise? more

Resolved Question: Is Government advertising a waste of money?

Personally I think they are patronising, un informative and useless. Does the Chlamydia ad inspire you to "Just pee in a pot" Doe the Swine Flu ad educate you, I mean its complicated stuff, wash your hands and throw your tissue away!! Does that constitute a huge media campaign!! What about the bloke insulating his house, "Hes just one man trying to make a difference" does That " One man trying to make a difference" inspire you to insulate your house. The Child Maintenance Ad, what a cracker "I just want to do whats right for the kids" no thats not true, it just inspires vindictive mothers to make a CSA claim"" The cracker must be the Direct Gov ad "It must be Gov" How much must they have spent on getting all those celebs, or did they just do it out of kindnes and not charge a fee!! Its ridiculous, wouldnt the money spent on these useless ads be better spent on schools, NHS etc.. Well even if they did save the ad money it would only go on immigrants!! You cant win with this government can you!! more

Resolved Question: Rent Agreement (No Contract)?

Hi, A friend of mine has fallen into a rent scam and she's been asking advice which I couldn't really help out with. I feel really sorry for her and want to do my best to help out and thought of turning to everyone here for advice and guidance. 6 months ago my friend moved into this house which was advertised privately on the web. The rent conditions were 6 months council tax exempt (landlord to pay) and utilities included which she thought was a bargain although the monthly rent was slightly high compared to the condition of the house. No contract was provided and her landlord emphasised 'trust' rather then legally binding each other. I agree this was a stupid mistake and she took things for granted. 6 months has passed now and the landlord is surprisingly demanding she pays the outstanding (!?) council tax and utilities and verbally abuses and threatens her at least 2 times a day! She has argued plenty of times of the terms and conditions of the agreement but the landlord is in complete denial. Out of desperation she contacted the website where the ad was placed however the company said they were unable to retrieve deleted ads. Can someone please help? My friend has a very gentle soul and right now she's traumatised from the experience she's going through.. I send my sincere appreciations for reading this. more
