Voting Question: How do I become a US citizen/resident?

I'm an Irish wanabe actor (I have to say wanabe because it's not my sole source of income yet) and America is the center of the media professions so I figured that it would be the best place to live in order to get a real career. I don't really care about being rich or famous I just love acting and being somewhere where a lot of work is done would be the best way to do it. If I can support myself with that then I'd be happy. I'm 21, male and am a year and a half away from having a degree in environmental science. I started the degree before I knew what I wanted to do in life and am finishing it to have as a fall back. What is the best way to become a working US citizen? I have done some research and it appears that you can't apply for permanent residence straight away, you have to live in the US for 5 years beforehand. That's not a problem for me. I just want to know how to start the process off. I mean, what would I need to organize moving over there now? Also, would it ease the application process or impede it if I were to fly over over the summer and try to get some work there on a J1? more

Resolved Question: What would you about PCB President Butt's hopes that Pakistani players participation IPL3?

Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chairman Ijaz Butt is still hopeful that the issue of participation of Pakistani cricketers in the Indian Premier League's (IPL) third edition would be resolved in the next two to three days. Talking to media persons here, Butt said the board has not given up trying to ensure Pakistan's representation in the cash-rich T20 league. "I am fully bent upon making possible the inclusion of Pakistan players in IPL third edition. PCB has not surrendered yet and the issue will soon be resolved," The News quoted Butt, as saying. It may be noted that IPL chairman Lalit Modi had ruled out the participation of Pakistani players in IPL's third edition beginning March 2010 due to an ongoing Visa problem. Meanwhile, the Indian High Commission in Islamabad has said that it has not denied visas to Pakistani players, and added that their visa applications were being processed more

Resolved Question: what do you think about my essay be as harsh as u can but be honest, also grade it if you can?

hi, i turned in this report to one of my classes and got a low B on it i completely disagree with this... can you guys/gals give my your opinion on it? and what i may need to fix. Thank you, it may seems long but its only like 2 pages. im in highschool btw :) “The writer must earn money in order to be able to live and to write, but he must by no means live and write for the purpose of making money” Karl Marx. Having gone through a rough childhood during the early 1800s because of extreme poverty, Marx viewed life in one way that was to help those of the poor be equal to those of the rich. Karl Marx is viewed as the creator of communism, which his theories was and are viewed as wrong and immoral. His ideas were there to help the poor, but have been manipulated by dictators to become a type of authoritarian government, which gave the people NO rights and has been known through its time to abolish all private property. Karl Marx was an ethical, creative, and influential man whose goal was to create equality for all people of the world. As a catalyst for change Karl Marx altered the world in an astonishing way, he inspired such leaders as Lenin, Stalin, Mao Zedong, and even Castro to lead their people in their own version of “communism” which has unfortunately devastated millions of people’s of lives. Those leaders followed his work day in and day out leading it to what it’s known as today a failed government, but it should be known as a government that hadn’t been correctly practiced. In order to view Karl Marx as an effective catalyst for change, one should observe the ethics he had within himself and understand what ethics is. Ethics is defined as the study of moral standards and how they affect conduct. Ethics is a major affair in every profession and is a key topic of philosophical discussions. Karl Marx was a man of ethics. One of his main applications was freedom, which to Karl Marx meant determination. Marx's opinion was that “man is controlled by the basics of nature. The nature of man is comprised of powers, man being uncontrolled, and allows him to comprehend the fullness of his powers,” (Karl Marx selected writings, pg. 207) With such a strong belief in ethics Karl Marx was viewed by a majority of people all over Europe as an unethical man because he didn’t abide by the laws. For example some laws required people to be suppressed and not be able to talk about the government, writing about the media and against the media was wrong, and speaking your mind was wrong. But being ethical is also not the same as following the law. The laws often include ethical standards to which most citizens pledge to. But laws, like feelings, can deviate from what is ethical. Our own pre-Civil War slavery laws and the apartheid (a system of legal racial separation) laws of present-day South Africa are grotesquely obvious examples of laws that deviate from what is ethical. Being ethical is not the same as doing "whatever society accepts." In any society, most people accept standards that are, in fact, ethical. But standards of behavior in society can deviate from what is ethical. An entire society can become ethically corrupt. Nazi Germany is a good example of a morally corrupt society. Karl Marx viewed the government as an unethical creature with absurd powers over the people; he thus made the book Communist Manifesto with his friend Engles who shared the same views as Marx, this book was made to show and talk about the government and how his idea of a new government called communism would revolutionize the world for the better. Additionally to fully understand Karl Marx you must understand his creativity and what exactly creativity is. Creativity is defined as the tendency to generate or recognize ideas, alternatives, or possibilities that may be useful in solving problems, communicating with others, and entertaining others and ourselves. Karl Marx is obviously seen as a creative man by all people since he did create his own government. But that isn’t all that makes him a creative person his ideas, the way he speaks about certain things, and his ability to think for the worlds benefit make him a creative man. For example “ Natural science will in time incorporate into itself the science of man, just as the science of man will incorporate into itself natural science: there will be one science,” (Karl Marx selected writings, pg.128). Marx here is saying that one day Natural science (physical labor) and science (Mental labor) will work by each other side by side as one. What Karl Marx said eventually came true, professions like engineering had arrived, a profession that requires both intensive labor and a mental capacity of math far beyond other professions. Marx’s creativity leads him to theories and ideas like that. Not many men could or can recognize what will eventually occur in time, but Marx being the creative man he is has the tendency to recognize things like this. Karl Marx, unfortunately during hi more

Resolved Question: Can you please summarise this article and give your opinion?

This is the article: The Scottish tourism industry will be "dead in the water" without embracing new technologies. The warning came from Alan Rankin, chief executive of the Aviemore and Cairngorms Destination Management Organisation, ahead of Tourism Innovation Day, on February 28 in Glasgow. Rankin, former chief executive of the Scottish Tourism Forum, spoke out following results of a Scottish tourism survey carried out by Highland Business Research for Tourism Innovation Day, which showed that 59% of companies felt that they could do better in terms of embracing technology. He said: "The tourism industry will be dead in the water unless it adopts the opportunities presented by new technologies." Many of the companies surveyed, which included accommodation businesses and tourist and visitor attractions in Scotland, cited similar themes when asked about their biggest technology challenges. These included securing funding to develop and increase the use of technology; not having broadband available in their area; being able to update their website regularly; the cost of promoting a small business on the web and staying on top of changing technology and trends such as the growth in use of rich media and Web2.0. Rankin questioned whether Scotland will be able to meet the challenge as quickly as emerging markets. "In the global market, having your website configured for the mobile phone, will become a necessity," he said. "For a lot of people in the Asian economies, the phone is a more important internet mechanism than the computer. This will become increasingly true of the developed markets. "Yet in some of our key rural tourism areas in Scotland, we don't have the mobile technology infrastructure in place - a major obstacle to overcome. Some areas do not even have broadband available." In the Scottish tourism survey, 94% of respondents have not offered mobile travel applications for customers and 96% did not have a version of their website for the mobile phone. Respondents were aware of the importance of social networking sites as a promotional channel, but only 17% of respondents had used such sites for promoting their businesses. Rankin warned that using social networking comes with its own sets of problems. "Such sites can pose challenges in terms of controlling the messages and should a company receive online criticism, it is there for the whole world to see. Companies therefore need to either get their service right in the first place," he said. Tourism Innovation Day, which is organised by the Tourism Innovation Group with Scottish Enterprise, has been designed to inspire and equip Scottish tourism organisations to apply technology, and develop innovative new products and services. Sue Crossman, project director for TiG, said, "The percentage of global hotel bookings made online for the first quarter of 2007 was almost double that of the same period last year. "Internet bookings accounted for 41.2% of total CRS bookings in major hotels chains throughout the world, up from 22% in 2006. "One third of all bookings during the first quarter of 2007 came through hotels' own websites. "With the ever increasing use of the web coupled with mobile phone advances, new technology will let the customer source better deals, and will raise their expectations in terms of receiving more customised tourist information." She challenged businesses of all sizes to raise their game in exploiting new technology, calling for "effective digital portals" to be set up for all of Scotland's main tourist destinations. The portals could use technology similar to popular social networking sites such as Bebo and Facebook, and allow visitors to post comments, pictures or videos about their personal experience of any location or service. Crossman claimed such sites would boost online bookings and help visitors find out more about the quality and variety of tourism experiences on offer. Digital portals would encourage smaller business, such as individual bed and breakfasts, that are still not confident about what the new technology can do for them, to work together to promote themselves and their location. She said: "Some companies are missing out on the available technology and that is not helping our global competitiveness. "There are now cost-effective ways for any accommodation business to offer online bookings; this is a must going forward. New technology, including the kind that allows you to post user-generated content on the web, is very exciting and should be helping destinations get their messages out there effectively." Tourism Innovation Day includes keynote speaker, Ben Vinod, chief innovator at Sabre Holdings, the company behind Lastminute.com. by Phil Davies If you had to summarise that article What would you say?? New technology, including the kind that allows you to post user-generated content on the web, is very exciting and should be helping destinations get their messages out there effectively." Resolved Question: Why does the MAINSTREAM MEDIA pretend Marc Rich is the worst offense by Eric Holder instead of FALN terrorists?

These terrorists didn't even file an application for clemency, and yet ERIC HOLDER filed one on their behalf. The group conducted a violent campaign with more than 100 bombings and other incidents from 1974 to 1983 in New York and Chicago. The attacks left six dead and roughly 70 injured. These terrorists threatened to murder the judge who presided over their case. These terrorists refused to express any remorse for their acts, even in light of the clemency granted them. What amount of poor judgement would be considered substantial enough to disqualify someone from a job like Attorney General? http://video.aol.com/video-detail/son-of-faln-victim-denounces-obamas-ag-pick/581986937/?icid=VIDURVNWS01 more

Resolved Question: for Iphone lover you may not want to read this.?

7 Reasons Why the New iPhone 3G Sucks 1. Too Expensive to Own Apple and AT&T may have shaved a couple of hundred dollars off the price but they will more than make up for it in monthly fees. If you take into account the regular monthly fee, the data fee, the text message fee which used to be free, and the $99 annual mobileme fee you could end up spending over $1,000 a year to own an iPhone, that’s 200 gallons of $5.00 gas. 2. Can’t Use the GPS like a GPS Forget about getting turn-by-turn voice directions in your car from the new iPhone 3G. The iPhone SDK makes it pretty clear it’s not allowed, “Applications may not be designed or marketed for real time guidance.” Yes it will superimpose your position on a Google map, or show you the closest pizzeria but what about getting real-time route guidance? There’s a rumor that TomTom may be developing a guidance application but you have to wonder how they’ll get it past the Apple police. 3. Can’t Tether the iPhone to Your Laptop Want to save $60 per month for a 3G card for your laptop and use the iPhone instead? Not going to happen - not allowed. Although there are plenty of phones, including AT&T’s Tilt, that will allow you to use your 3G phone as a high speed modem for your laptop, the iPhone won’t be one of them so you can add the cost of a 3G card for your laptop at $720 a year to your total cost of ownership. 4. Still No Cut and Paste Cut and Paste has been around on Apple computers since the earliest Mac Plus computers. What’s the big problem with implementing it on iPhones? Why is cut and paste so important? Suppose you’re browsing a web site and want to capture some text or a URL, or someone sent you an email and you want to grab some text from it and send to someone else. Not possible on an iPhone. Speaking of email, where’s the spell checker? Predictive typing is fine but spell checkers are everywhere else but here. 5. Wimpy 2 MP Camera In the world of 5 MP Smartphones and 10 MP point and shoot cameras why is the iPhone still stuck with a measly 2 MP? That’s so 2003. While we’re at it how come we can’t record video, afraid the non-existent SD card might fill up? The iPhone should be able to stream video by now. 6. No Stereo Bluetooth We thought the iPhone was supposed to be part iPod. At least they fixed the recessed headphone jack flaw (and called it a new feature) but the A2DP stereo Bluetooth standard has been around for a while and is missing from the iPhone. 7. The List Goes On Still no Flash player for rich media content (what grudge does Steve Jobs hold against Adobe). Still can’t send pictures in MMS messages, still no native voice dialing, no mobile TV, no replaceable battery, no flash memory card, and on and on.AT&T: iPhone Sucks, Buy a BlackBerry July 16, 2008 in AT&T, Apple An AT&T Regional Manager recently put together a 5 page document outlining exactly why the iPhone 3G sucks compared to any BlackBerry and Windows Mobile phones. The document was SUPPOSED to be internal but when an AT&T mall employee used them as “flyers”, convincing customers OUT of the iPhone, we’re sure a few jobs are going to be lost. Among the documents was a page titled Top 10 Reasons Why The iPhone is Still No BlackBerry. We’ve listed the reasons below along with an image of the actual document explaining each: No removeable battery No video record and no flash No voice dial No expandable memory No MMS No CDMA No UMA No Stereo Bluetooth No Cut And Paste The BlackBerry is ADDICTIVE Straight from the horses mouth:http://mobileroar.com/category/carriers/attthis is not a question, I just want anybody who want to buy Iphone 3G should read this.niiro13, what are you try to say, Iphone 3g is for businesses use only. then I guess people who is not a businesses person shold not Iphone then. more

Resolved Question: What college course? Easy 10 points?

Hey i am currently coming to the end of year 10 at school. We have to start our college applications in a few months time and I really don't know what subjects to take. For my GCSE's I chose geography, drama and media studies along with the compulsory ICT, english. science and maths. I enjoy geography, media studies and sometimes english. I would enjoy drama more if I had the teacher I was hoping for. I get good grades for all of my subjects (I could do better in drama though). When I'm older I would love to be a TV presenter although it is highly unlikely because I'm not confident enough and it is a very hard profession to get into. I would also like to be a property developer/agent however I don't think I'm rich enough. The most realistic job idea I have at the moment is a police officer. Does anyone have any suggestions on what college courses to apply for or any jobs (well paid) I would be suited to. Thanks in advance more

Resolved Question: Why isn't the iPhone available on the AT&T website??

When will this new iPhone 3G be released? Will they still have iPhone 2G available for purchase? If so, When? This is what it says: AT&T and Apple introduced the revolutionary iPhone in June 2007 and it quickly became one of the most popular devices in the AT&T wireless portfolio. On July 11, the companies will launch the next generation iPhone, a 3G-enabled device that will be exclusively available through AT&T in the United States. The new iPhone 3G will have several significant enhancements, including: ~3G broadband wireless connectivity, which gives customers a home broadband-like speed experience when surfing the Internet, sharing files, and using media-rich Web applications ~Business-class capabilities, including e-mail, viewed on a large, touch-screen device and designed to meet the needs of companies of all sizes ~The ability for developers, including AT&T, to create customized consumer and business applications using the Apple software developer's kit (SDK).The iPhone 3G harnesses the power of AT&T's super-fast 3G, or third generation, mobile broadband network currently available in more than 280 major U.S. metropolitan areas. By year end, AT&T plans to offer 3G service in 350 metro areas. As a provider to all of the Fortune 1000, AT&T plans to actively market the iPhone 3G to businesses of all sizes. How much will it be?? more

Resolved Question: Is the liberal media hiding the progress in Iraq?

A GENERAL’S SURGE VIEW. Rich Lowry interviews three-star general Jack Keane about the surge. Here’s a bit of it: Lowry: Conventional wisdom is that no matter how well the surge is going by the spring of next year, the president will have to start drawing down. Gen. Keane: The surge, or the counter offensive as I like to describe it, was recommended to be a temporary operation, and for the people who were implementing it, they knew it was a temporary operation. Those of us who have looked at it quite a bit in the preliminary discussions, we believe that this was always a temporary operation that was going to last 12-18 months. And that sometime in ’08, late ‘08 at the very latest, we would probably be reducing back to pre-surge levels. As Gen. Petraeus told me on the phone just over the weekend, the speed of which things are moving in terms of achieving more security and stability has surprised him, because of the cumulative affect of the application of military force in all these areas, all at the same time. So as we continue to get this result, what I see happening is that the more successful you are, the sooner you start to leave. Lowry: How do you think Iraq will looks in a year or two? Gen. Keane: I think Baghdad will be stable except for an occasional car bomb by the al Qaeda. Anbar province will be stable. Diyala province will be stable and many of the provinces around Baghdad will be almost as stable. And I see us, from a security perspective, having made some very significant gains, particularly in comparison from ‘06 and from a political perspective, I absolutely see the change that is taking place from the grassroots level in the Sunni and Shia wanting change. I see that having more and more impact on this government and it may be the most successful thing that is happening in this country because the people themselves want the change. They are fed up with the violence. They want their government to start moving toward a form of reconciliation and I think that will push this government in that direction. I truly believe that in a year or so, for sure, we will have taken some very practical steps along the lines of reconciliation with the Sunnis in terms of some of the benchmarks, but even some other things that are equally substantive to them. more

Resolved Question: Anyone knows Lai Ma - the advice expert?

Hi guys, I think she's funny. I wish I know her blogs. I received this sometimes ago. If you haven't read it, just take a break & have fun! Expert Advice – Ms Lai Ma and the STPM failures, Today's posting is mostly about students who have failed all STPM examination subjects and have to make some tough decisions on their future careers. The mainstream media had given much publicity to the 128 straight A students who experienced problems in getting places to study medicine in the local universities. But what about the miserable failures? There is no media publicity of any sort regarding their fate. They are humans as well, aren't they? (Note: Only their parents are allowed to say that they aren't.) If you cut them, do they not bleed? If you fail them, do they not cry? If you scold them, do they not say, "Fark you"? But not to worry. The 5Star is here! In the name of service to all segments of society, the nation's best newspaper has devoted a column to cater to the aspirations of the goof-offs and lazy bums who did badly in the STPM, and who are now unable to get a place in the university. Our 5Star columnist, Ms Lai Ma, former karaoke lounge singer (very famous one, hooiyoh) is here to answer questions from the affected students. ************************* Dear Lai Ma, I failed in all my STPM subjects. I blame no one but myself. I was always skipping classes. The whole school called me the "ponteng king". The teachers, prefects, gardeners, jagas, office peons and canteen staff would often see me loitering in the corridors and they would try to capture me. But I was always too fast for them, and easily evaded capture. Now that I've failed every subject, I do not know what to do. Don't ask me to repeat STPM again because I will surely die. Pontengarajah Dear Pontengarajah, We at the 5Star feel your pain. We feel your sorrow. We feel like kicking you in the butt for pontenging class. I think you have a problem with authority. But you also have the necessary skills to evade capture. The most logical career choice for you is to become a VCD seller. Easy job. But need to run sometimes. However, my talkcock editor tells me that we should not advise people to do things that are not right. So listen carefully. Selling is right. Running also right. But gettingcaught is not right. ********************* Dear Lai Ma, My dream in life is to become a crony. But I failed all my subjects in STPM. I now have no opportunity to go to the university to study how to become a crony. My life is over. My friends tell me that I should just kill myself. Should I listen to them? Wang Busat Dear Wang Busat, Oi........what kind of friends you have? And summore you call them "friends"? Not being able to get into the university is no reason to kill yourself. Besides, which university can teach you how to be a crony? If you want to be a crony, you must first learn how to bodek gahmen officials. The best place to learn is at the golf course. Take up a job as a caddy in a golf course. Then observe how businessmen bodek civil servants as they play golf. It is not as easy as you think. Businessmen must try not to win the game. The only way to do so is to purposely keep hitting the ball into the water. This is the way, mah. Every crony knows this by heart. Then only can get projects. Outside the golf course, you can see boys selling lots of golf balls fished out from the ponds. Why are so many people losing balls? So many people bodeking, that's why. After two or three years at the golf course, you should learn enough to become a bodek expert. After that, you can easily become a crony. Once you become a successful crony, you can go and to tell your present friends to go fark themselves. **************************************** Dear Lai Ma, All the universities rejected my application for entry. I can't understand why. I sent them a certificate that stated very clearly that my CGPA was 6.5. I know that all the other applicants have CGPA of less than 4.0. There is no good reason why the universities don't want to accept me. Why the world so farked up? Chin Tu Lan Dear Tu Lan, Ni na beh.......where got people obtain CGPA 6.5 one? Closed eyes also I know that you printed the certificate yourself! Wa lau eh, bullshit also don't know how to bullshit properly. I ought to come over and whack your thick head. But my talkcock editor said that we are a five star paper, and I must give you good advice. I told him to go fly kite. If everybody print their own certificates, then what for conduct examinations anymore? My advice to you is to stop printing nonsense. If you still want to further your studies, you can go and apply to get into the Lame Cock Wank Institute. They are always looking for creative students. After they finish laughing at your creative CGPA of 6.5, I am sure that they will accept you. *************************** Dear Lai Ma, I want to become duck. My STPM results got many 'A's but I not so like to go university. People say university graduates earn small money. I want have big big money. And fast. I so the very handsome and energetic. Supple orso. You think I can be good duck or not? Pelvic Elric Dear Pelvic, What kind of broken English are you talking? The proper word to Use is "gigolo", not "duck". To be a good gigolo you must have very polished and refined language skills. Rich lonely women don't just want action. They're lonely, not stupid. They want intelligent and stimulating conversation also. You talk one kind like that, how to get good business? I advise you to enroll in a university and study a proper course, like Mass Communications. And after you graduate, you should be able to speak like James Bond. Then you can introduce yourself in a sophisticated manner, like saying, "My name is Elric....Pelvic Elric. How do you do? And how you want to do?" When meeting prospective clients, you must show off your degree. Then only can command high price. Like that, mah!!Lame **** **** Institute = Lame C*o*c*k W*a*n*k Institute. (lol!)Hey Anderson & No_money, Alright, I'm more than glad you all like it! Bo_$$, ahah! that's a gd one! hey, tell us the link, ok!Hey guys, Thanks for the stars! I'd dedicate them all to Ms Lai Ma. Oh ya, I think she should marry Pua Chu kang! more
