For the past 2 weeks I have regularly been printing off a set of pictures for use. The pictures quality was always fine and looked good. At the beginning of the week prints onto the gloss paper began to get white flecks within the darker areas (Black/Blue) and the photo as a whole had a 'posterised' effect.
Printing from Photoshop CS4, I used the High Resolution setting, High Quality and all other settings were on defaults. I checked ink levels, which were fine, and then tried printing other pictures onto the same form of paper, with the same print settings, and they were ok. However, the pictures I needed would still not print properly, even though the settings were the same as the pictures that came out fine. Printing onto plain paper works flawlessly too. I tried other things, such as increasing the resolution and trying every print setting individually. However, the pictures that printed fine onto the gloss paper one week ago will no longer look good.
Any ideas what has caused the printer to suddenly lack the ability to print a select amount of photos onto gloss paper, even though it can still print other pictures onto gloss paper alright?

last month i was fired from my job after working there full-time for 2 months. a month prior to that i had my 1 month review and was told that i got a 4.5 out of 5 (5 being excellent) on my review and that i was getting the hang of doing the work at good speed. exactly one month later, my boss came into my office and said that he had to let me go b/c my time management skills were off. he had typed out a letter listing 5 examples of my wrong doings, all of which were tedious mistakes i had made in the last 2 days due to him not sending me files needed for the job and him sending me to substitute teach for him for 3 hours b/c he just didn't feel like going (i'm a junior graphic designer and his firm consisted of me, him, and two interns who are still in school). prior to getting this job, i was working as a media designer at another agency but my hours were cut drastically due to lack of work, so when this opportunity came up i was scared to pass it up and took the job...a job that paid 12 bucks an hour with no health benefits, no holiday pay, and a lot of work to be done by one person. my boss knew that i hadn't had that much experience doing graphic design (especially doing the bulk of the work on my own without guidance from an art director) and that i would try my best and was eager to help, so it came as a shock to me when he said i not only didn't manage my time well but was lacking the skills needed to do the job at a senior level. well yah i can see that. never once did i imply that i was a senior lever graphic designer! i tried my best and was getting good feedback up until the day he gave me my letter of termination. b/c i was fired, i don't think i can receive unemployment b/c apparently it was due to misconduct, but i don't understand how missing a few minor things (that my boss also overlooked) in 2 days can lead to misconduct. on top of this, my last paycheck was missing 6.5 hours and i still haven't been compensated for expenses i made due to delivering packages to his clients with my gas. i informed my boss of this and he said he'd get back to me on it, but he hasn't. i have a part time job right now, but i'm not making half of the money i was making prior to being fired and given my circumstance and the economy, it seems like no one is hiring (restuarants, stores, definitely not agencies looking for graphic designers). what can i do?
PS: these mistakes included missing a period removal in an edit, moving an existing image in modular grid and placing it at a different angle, highlighting "homepage" on a homepage, moving sentence to the left on a holiday greeting card (that i designed!), sending a document to the printing press at 6 o'clock, which is overtime (didn't receive documents until 5:50PM and there were edits to be made before i could send them off).
PPS-- i've never been fired before, and i usually work at jobs for about 2 years before moving to another.

the only way i have found to get on the internet is to go to START, SEARCH, SEARCH INTERNET, when all i used to have to do is click my yahoo icon, now when i click it, i get error that says windows could not find http;//m.yahoo.com make sure you typed the name correctly,etc. Also once i am on the internet, most links will not work, the little hand comes up and stays up for about 10 mins before i can do anything else, even the print button wont work, i have to go up to file and then down to print. i am not sure what happened but this used to be a pretty good computer, thanks for any help you can give me, its frustrating to see it just sitting there without being able to use it. Ok i been having this problem for like 5 months but i never really cared because i dont have time to play games much anymore but school its almost over and well i recently got windows 7 and i had windows xp and before the graphics were just acting up when i played games but now that i have windows 7 its worse now it randomly does it.. it like freezes and small green squares appear then i have to restart...and in some cases like i was gonna play a game and blue screen cameout... i cleaned my computer from the inside with a dust remover and the card did have alot of dust and i though that would solve the problem but it dint here are my specs hope there enough to find out what the problem is.

The Elements of design play an important role in the creation and success of a piece of art, whether it's for outdoor, indoor, digital or print medium. These elements are:
Space
Space is the area provided for a particular purpose. It may have two dimensions (length and width), such as a floor, or it may have three dimensions (length, width, and height). Space includes the background, foreground and middle ground.
Line
Line is the mark made by a moving point, such as a pencil or brush. The edges of shapes and forms also create lines. It is the basic component of a shape drawn on paper. Lines and curves are the basic building blocks of two dimensional shapes like a house's plan. Experiment in design by adding or changing lines such as the lines of the floor plan of a house.
Color
Color is the most expressive element of art and is seen by the way light reflects off a surface. Color is used to create illusion of depth, as red colors seem to come forward while blue seems to recede into the distance. Color, and particularly contrasting is also used to draw the attention to a particular part of the image. On some cases of interior design, color can be added to increase visual appeal such as the natural colors of wood of a china cabinet. Color may add visual appeal to a home decor just as colored flowers can add beauty to a field on a prairie.
Shape
Shape is an area enclosed by lines or curves. It can be geometric or organic. Importantly, a shape automatically creates a around it. Shapes in house decor and interior design can be used to add interest, style, theme to a design like a door. Shape in interior design depends on the function of the object like a kitchen cabinet door. Natural shapes forming patterns on wood or stone may help increase visual appeal in interior design.
Texture
Texture is the feeling and visual feel of the fabrics, colors, and room accessories. There are two types of texture; Tactile, or visual texture, and texture which you can detect with your five senses. Texture like grass sheets on a wall, or white pebbles embedded in a concrete wall gives a three dimensional look to the wall and a few of shades of its colors. Texture is the roughness of the surface of a material. Surfaces with same or similar textures like fireplace marble tiles and drywall usually look more visually appealing. The quality of finishes of surfaces in home interior design and even on automobiles are important. Smoothening and polishing wood wall panelling neatly and uniformly usually improves its finish and so its appearance. A smooth and polished surface on a marble tile is also a texture, and smooth and uniform quality finishes can enhance the visual appeal of natural material finishes like marble tiles on a wall. Smooth mirror reflective finish on a marble bathroom countertop enhances its looks.
Form
Form may be created by the forming of two or more shapes. It may be enhanced by tone, texture and color. Form is considered three-dimensional showing height, width and depth. It can be illustrated or constructed.
Value
Value helps with Form. It gives objects depth and perception. Value is also referred to as tone. Basically shading.
Type
Type is the use of letterform to add a message that would be otherwise challenging to create through the other elements.It has to name the element and give a tiny explanation about the element . It is very very dorky- I know... The guy in the group was going to create the lyrics and record the rap in the studio and then email us the file and we were going to play the file over the video we were shooting of a female lyp-syncing the song. I need any lyrics by tomorrow at 7:30 pm - if we don't have at least a copy of lyrics in hand we have to cancel the reservations for our video equipment rental, change venues, and inform the people we were using as extras they wont be needed.Then we will have to start from scratch. Our ENTIRE project must be completed by Oct. 30 to allow for editing by Nov.1

I bought my PS3 on New Year's Day, and it's been working fine up until about a month ago, when it would not load anything. One day, I turned on my PS3, and put in my PS3 game. All I got was a loading bubble/circle in the top right hand corner of the screen that doesn't go away. The disc icon does not appear on the XMB. The Blue light on the front of the system is on, indicating that a disc is in the system, and I have no trouble ejecting it or anything. It does the same thing for CDs, DVDs, Blu-Ray movies, and Blu-Ray games. Unfortunately, I lost my receipt (and the store I bought it from cannot print me another one due to limited customer's history), so I cannot claim the warranty. It will cost $177.45 CAD to send it to Sony. I was just wondering if anyone has any ideas of what I can do to try to fix this problem. (I have tried restoring the system and everything through the PS3's "secret" Restoring Menu)
I was wondering if anyone has any ideas, before I send it to Sony (please do not say "just send it to Sony" because I am planning to do that, but I'm just trying to see if I can fix this in a last-ditch effort before having to pay $177.45.

I'll be frank, I'm considering joining the U.S. military - most likely the navy or marines - in order to get through college without going in debt. Before I decide, there are some aspects I'm curious about (and would prefer to not ask recruiters as I know they have a quota to fill).
Does the military really pay as much for college as it advertises? I've read it depends on which job they're training you for as well, but is there any fine print I have to be concerned about?
This will sound spoiled of me, but are you ever allowed to bring any type of media with you (ex: a book or mp3 player to stay sane on the rare chance you have free time)? I expect the answer is no for boot camp, but beyond that...?
Secondly, since my high school forced everyone to take the ASVAB, will I have to retake it if I sign up? Following that, I know ASVAB scores determine eligibility, but do they have any influence on ranking or military job consideration? (For reference, I originally got a 91. If the answer is yes to the latter question, what does that mean for me?)

At my house I currently use the Linksys WRT54G. I have had it for about 5 years, with no problems until recently. Just so you people know how it is hooked up is I have the cable modem plugged into the WRT54G. Out of the Linksys on Hard wire is my laptop, print server, and 2 ethernet switches. Off one of the switches I have a Desktop computer, Computer Tower as my media server. Off the other switch is a Directv Receiver and a PS3. The only thing running on WIFI is my ipod touch. About a month ago I was using my ipod touch and also streaming a internet radio station on my server. Out of no where I lost internet connection after trying to restart the Linksys and the cable modem I had no luck. I ended up having to reprogram my Linksys Router. Now just tonight a storm came through and we lost power for about 5 mins. Now that the power is back on Im having the same problem again. Right now I have my laptop plug directly into the cable modem to type up this question. So Im just wondering if any of you know what might be causing my problem? These things are presented so that they refrain from writing against them. Once, Maharastra state govt. of India alotted a plot of land to every journalist in Navi Mumbai(New Bombay). Most of the journalists were sent invitations in form of printed cards but now it is sent by mobile phone SMS & the hosts convey messages by their subordinates that it will have grand feast with imported heavy liquors too in Taj Mahal or Oberoi hotel etc. When there is some event of big news value, the reporters are missing but at the end everyone tries to tell that he reached first, hoodwinking public. TV correspondents too earn heavily from such open bribery.
Once in 90s Indian Hockey Federation(IHF)'s chief's election was to take place in Bhopal & an old Olympian Mohd Ghufran was nominated. K P S Gill , a Sikh so called supercop, never played hockey was nominated against him. His musclemen seized the whole city Bhopal one day before election & threatened all concerned members. At last Gill got elected unopposed b coz Ghufran withdrew his nomination under threat to his life at the last moment. In press conference, Gill spent heavily on non-veg & liquor party for journalists & golden chains too were presented to all. After treats, a journalist asked Gill , " How could you be elected unopposed against Ghufran, the hockey wizard when you never played hockey ?" Clearly, correct news were suppressed through bribes. So, balanced reportings of events by presenting both bright & dark side of the picture "equally" is missing. Why ? Because, journalism has become an unprincipled industry. Journalists MUST NOT ACCEPT GIFTS & TREATS. Otherwise, it is corruption. Film personalities pay 5-star hotel stay bills of journalists too from their own pockets. General feeling is that most of great people are scared of journalists. One editor of Times group said that only 30 % corrupt journalists did so, not all. People believe 100 % are so ? What is correct situation ? How can this evil be eliminated ?

The war between Pakistan and the Taliban has had the unfortunate effect of putting children into harms way and cutting short their education and development. I have to stop for a second and ask myself how it is that Muslims can do this to their fellow Muslims and still the President of the United States says that it was “colonialism that denied rights and opportunities to many Muslims”. Wow, that’s an amazing statement to make considering that the United States is the only country actively fighting right now to ensure that Muslims have rights and opportunities. Saudi Arabia won’t do that work because it is far easier for them to spend their time amassing fortunes on soaring oil prices while they spew anti-Semitic literature around the Arab world. Now is no time to delve into the why’s and wherefore’s of stupid little things like Muslims killing and displacing other Muslims.
Would it at all be too much to ask people to listen to the facts rather than observe the rhetoric as though making it glitzy on tv is enough to drive home the fact that lies are being sold as the truth? Take for instance Obama’s words in Cairo in which he said, “It was innovation in Muslim communities that developed the order of algebra; our magnetic compass and tools of navigation; our mastery of pens and printing; our understanding of how disease spreads and how it can be healed.”
The encyclopedia Britannica states that the development of the magnetic compass took place sometime in the 12th century in China. And Algebra took place about a thousand years before the time of Mohammed in Babylonian times, therefore it could not have possibly been a Muslim accomplishment. And I would imagine people have heard of Johannes Gutenberg, who lived in Germany during the 1400’s. He is credited with developing the mechanical printing press.
But this is typical of what people have grown accustomed to expect from Americans. They will not let their president fail no matter what. To do so would be tantamount to admitting that millions of Americans are completely delusional because they know they are being lied to. On one hand, the media is trying to convince Americans that what Israel is doing in the areas where millions of Muslim Arabs live, wrongly called “Palestine”, is what the problem is in the Muslim world. Yet the media will not tell you how Muslims are treating their own, and the situation in Swat is a prime example of this.
And don’t expect Obama to say anything about this problem that he has created by expanding the war into Pakistan. You will never hear a word about this war he is conducting because the media is totally blacked out from it. Just today there were more bombings in Islamabad. The Taliban literally blew up a military vehicle carrying two “high value” prisoners that the Pakistani military had apprehended during their incursions into Swat. They literally blew up their own people rather than allow them to become informants to Pakistan, and yet this type of brazen, calculated Muslim on Muslim violence goes overlooked by the media. They would much rather cover this dumb ass called Obama make mistake after mistake and still hold his head up and cheese for everyone.
So whats it going to take for the Obamabots to wake up? And who can do it???yaya? I hope thats a joke. 8 years of hell?
