Open Question: Help! My computer can't play any videos - even from DVD?

This is really friggin' weird, it was working fine then it stopped working D: I tried to watch a video online, but not only would the video only play the first fraction of a second, it also crashed Firefox. I thought it was just YouTube, but I tried on a few separate sites to no success. Out of curiosity, I tried to watch a DVD - same thing (er, except it was crashing Media Player, not Firefox. Obviously.) I went into Audio/Video on the control panel to see if any settings had been messed around with, clicked to go Advanced and it informed me "DirectSound settings not available". I tried googling that, but it seems to be an error that usually occurs on remote servers and found no helpful information. If it helps, my computer is a Windows XP, HP Pavilion and I don't know how to get more info than that so if you need more, you'll have to tell me how to get it first.Update: Sound sort of works. I was playing a game and it suddenly came in. It didn't last long before cutting out again, though. more

Open Question: Computer struggles to start up, takes a long time and works too slow while running?

This is a Desktop PC running on Windows 7 32-bit. It is an HP Pavilion Media Center m8400f. It has an AMD Phenom 9500 Quad-Core processor, 3072MB of system memory, 720GB hard drive. I've been having problems with this computer for two days. I think it all started after it stormed one night. I try to turn it on one morning and it would freeze on the blue HP start up screen. I contacted an online HP Support agent. They had me open up the tower and remove the RAM and then replug the computer to hear how the beeps were. There was a long beep, then followed by a fast one, and it would repeat. The agent said that the motherboard had crashed, and that there was no solution to it other than getting a new motherboard. I put everything back, but what I did was remove the battery inside for a while to see if that would work. I turn on the PC, and it finally made it's way to the desktop. It drags to get there. It takes forever and it seems to freeze for a while and run very very slowly. Any solutions? more

Ok, so I took a pregnancy test around 3 days ago and it came back with a faint positive. But my period started yesterday and it was a medium flow but with clots && it's still the same thing today but instead of clots its more like stringy red discharge I'm experiencing some back pain, really bad nausea, extreme fatigue, and bloating. I usually have really bad cramping but I haven't had any really just minor cramping. I'm worried that I've miscarried, and also I took one Naproxen like 5 days ago because I was having a migraine but on the pill bottle it only said don't take if your in your third trimester so I didn't think it would harm the baby, just read online that it can though. I havn't taken another pregnancy test yet, but I plan on it. Right now ive asked about this quite a few times on here but this is the latest one. Ok so this girl that i've like for about 7 years (both 18 btw) was in a long distance relationship with a guy she met online. My girlfriend and i have been playing The Secret of Mana, a Super Nintendo classic that is an adventure/rpg type game with up to three players simultaneous. I know its old but it's new to us (as is using emulators in general) and we are really enjoying it. I'm wondering if there are any other games that are very similar in regards to being RPG-like, two-player at the same time as a team, action oriented adventuring. We do not care for the hard-core online-massive-multiplayer type games like "wow" and "everquest" and all that stuff. Open Question: Media players Skip while playing downloaded vids!?

I'm trying to watch some videos that I downloaded online, but some of them skip around and the sound is a bit laggy when i try to play them in Windows Media Player... I have tried VLC, but to no avail. I've downloaded K-lite codec pack as well ffdshow (uninstalling the other first of course), but still some videos just skip. How do i fix this skipping? I dont think its my graphics card because it works for other videos of the same type. Also the video works in Media Player Classic, but in MPC the sound skips instead of the video... So is there a fix for the audio of MPC? The file type is Windows Media Audio/Video file (.wmv)... Any help would be greatly appreciated thank you in advanced! Im on the media site that your phone is supose to send the pictures you take to for Verizon, I go to my pictures, hit options, hit "Send to online Album". It loads to 100% and completes, I refresh the page and it's not there. Could it be because my phone number isnt the main account administrator? There's three cell phones under the account, and my dads is the admin. Im the only one with picture and texting, though - but i have access to the account, could that be it?
