Open Question: Used Canon Rebel XT DSLR or a high-end point-and-shoot?

In your opinion, which is better? I'm looking into purchasing either a used Canon Rebel XT or a very high-end point-and-shoot camera (like the two in the links below). My price range is only about $200 - $275, hence why I would be purchasing an outdated, used camera. (I would be buying a used camera outfit with no additional lenses, just what is included in an ebay lot) I may want to study photography in college. But, right now, I'm more concerned about picture quality. I've been using film SLRs for a short while. Anyway, right now, I'm mainly concerned about image quality. Which do you think would be better? An older DSLR or a new point-and-shoot? I know that it all lies in the hands of the photographer, but I'd love to hear your personal experiences with the Rebel XT and image quality. I looked for reviews, but most were from when the camera was first released and thought to be the "best thing around." Open Question: 10 pts : Which camera is the most suitable for beginner like me?

So I am new to photography. I want a camera that produce good quality photos like DSLRs ones. But I would like to buy a digital camera. Which one is better for me? Open Question: I'm looking for a good HD digital camera...help!?

I would like to buy a digital camera with HD capabilities for pics and videos. Not one of those big photography camera or anything fancy like that though. Just a camera for occasional use with friends, vacation, concerts...etc. But I would like it to be good quality. I've had such bad luck with picking out cameras in the past. Open Question: I'm going to France next summer and I can't decide which camera to take?

I live in Utah and next summer (2011) I'm going to France for 9 days and I love photography and taking pictures. I have a Nikon D40 with two different lenses. I have a 55-200mm and a 15-55mm. But then I also have a polaroid camera that takes neat vintage photos, but then I figure well maybe I should just take my small digital one so it's light and easy to carry around. I want to take really good pictures, but I dont want to carry around my giant Nikon around ALL THE TIME. Open Question: Fashion blogger looking to upgrade inexpensive slr digital camera for amateur photography?

I'm a fashion blogger currently using a very nice olympus digital camera for photos on my blog. While I do love the camera in general, I would like to upgrade to something that would take a bit nicer (ie - crisper, more professional looking, etc) pictures for my blogging needs. However, I'm not able to spend an exuberant amount of money, under $400 (and the cheaper the better!), and would like something that would also fit my amateur photographer capabilities. I have 2 Canon Rebel Xsi. One is a newer digital and the other is an older film. I am really new to photography so I don't really know the differences between lenses (like what one does compared to the other). Voting Question: California Real Estate Agent requirements?

Hello,.... I am seriously considering becoming a real estate agent. I have wanted to be a realtor and own a real estate investment company since I was 12. But I have a couple of basic questions I would love to have an answer too. You have to be 18 to get your license right? But can I start studying for it before then? (I am 17, 18 in March) How long does it take? Is it like a year long process or a couple months, weeks, what? Where is a good online place to take these courses? The BIG question is that I live in Iowa right now, but I really want to be in California doing real estate (and don't say "oh, you really should do it in Iowa, a place where you're familiar" because I will never stay in Iowa. haha) I know its hard to build a customer base but I don't have any other option. So back to the question at hand, can I live in Iowa and get my license and then move to California a little later on? (for example, get the license in the Spring and move late Summer early fall) or do I have to live in Cali for this whole process? Do you have any suggestions on what I should take for college courses? Right now for the fall semester I am taking Selling, Principals of Advertising, Principals or Marketing, and Digital Photography. I was just taking classes that I thought I would enjoy and that may be beneficial. Any other info you have please feel welcome to share! Voting Question: Nikon D3000 vs Canon Rebel XS?

I'm looking to buy a basic, but quality, digital slr and I don't know if I should go with a Canon or Nikon. My old manual SLR was a Nikon, all my point and shoots have been Canon. I kind of feel closer to the Canon, but I want to get some other opinions before I buy anything. Which has a better/easier interface, better quality photos, and lens options? I want to eventually get a nice collection of lenses going, starting with a prime and maybe a telephoto, but eventually I want a nice macro lens. I want to focus my photography on landscape, but also detailed close up photos, and low light long exposure shots, if that makes a difference in the decision.
