Resolved Question: Anyone done business with 5050loan.com?

I am asking this question for a second time, as all of the replies I received during the past several days, nobody seemed to read my question and just started providing links to various bad credit loan companies, payday loan companies, and companies that only fund loans up to $1,500. I am not interested in any of these loan companies. So please read my question before submitting your answer(s). Thank you. In this case, if you have not received a loan via 5050loan.com, you WILL NOT be able to answer my question, so please do not bother to answer my question if you HAVE NOT received a loan through 5050 loan.com. Thank you for your understanding. MY QUESTION: After seeing various online ads provided by 5050loan.com (see some of their claims below), along with reading the positive feedback on 5050loan.com in Yahoo Answers already, I was already to try my luck at getting one of their loans. However upon going to their website today (08-03-10), they have a statement on their website that states: “AS OF JULY 19, 2010 WE WILL NOT BE ACCEPTING ANY NEW LOAN PACKAGE SUBMISSIONS DUE TO THE LARGE VOLUME OF SUBMISSIONS WE HAVE REACHED OUR MAXIMUM PROCESSING FOR THE MONTH OF JULY ”. I have never heard of a business or company having to put potential customers on hold like this. Yet upon doing a little further online research of this company, it looks like they have over advertised and they seem to have quite a few ads on Craigslist and The Backpage and have ads on other various online advertising venues all over the country. Well it must be nice! I sure wish I could get a job working for them if they are that backed-up with business. SMILE! Yet upon reading a few media articles on this company, it seems that they work with several lenders and are not the actual lender themself. So I was wondering if anyone that has a loan through 5050loan.com, can you please provide me your lender name and telephone number. Because I somehow have a feeling that 5050loan.com is going to be swamped for awhile, and I would like to apply for a loan through one of their lenders, since 5050loan.com seems to be the only company out there that might be able to help a person like me in my financial situation get a loan for $25,000, yet if they are that busy at the moment, I hope by going to one of their lenders directly, I can have better luck to see if I can get a loan or not, rather than waiting for 5050loan.com to open their doors to start taking applications once again. Seeing that it is already August 3rd, they still have not updated their website to provide a status on when they will be taking applications again. I would appreciate any help I can get. Thanks everyone : - ) Ernesto 5050loan.com states in their ad: No Credit Check - No Collateral Required - No Co-Signer Required No Bank or Checking Account Required - Garnishment Ok No Job OK - Stated Income Ok - No W2 or Tax Returns Required Bad Credit Ok - Repossession Ok - Charge Offs Ok - Bankruptcy Ok Foreclosure OK - No Credit Ok Loans up to $50,000 - No Upfront Fees UP to $50,000 Unsecured Personal Loan No Credit Check - Patented Identity Verification Check more

Voting Question: What subjects should I choose in high school to become an advertiser?

We have to pick our subjects soon and recently I decided that it would be a good idea to go into the advertising industry because I'm excelling in media studies, excelling in the marking side of business studies and I also am interested in physiology. I know that there is many parts to advertising, but I want to be the person that creates the ideas and directs the adverts. Not the person who does all the market research and ETC. So tell me what are good subjects to take to be able to get a degree in advertising!? more

Resolved Question: Economical ways to promote a flight in a WWII B-17 Flying Fortress near Boston Aug 20-22, 2010?

I’m the President of the largest EAA (www.EAA.org) chapter in the Greater Boston area and we’re a 501(c)(3) public charity, but with a very small budget … We’ll be hosting the EAA (also a 501(c)(3)) Museum’s WWII B-17 Flying Fortress bomber known as “Aluminum Overcast” at the Lawrence Municipal Airport for a 3-day tour stop August 20-22, 2010 – but would love some advise and/or contacts: EAA requires that the host chapter (that’s us, EAA Chapter 106 – www.EAA106.org – see link for B-17 flyer on home page) provide all the advertising for both the flights (morning) and ground tours (walk through the plane in the afternoon) – times tbd. With a limited budget and a down economy, our chapter needs to be even more creative than normal in our advertising. In the past (and we’re doing these this year, too), we’ve posted flyers in pizza shops, convenience stores, grocery stores, etc – and have taken some to hotels near the airport. We’ve also posted our event to on-line aviation calendars (Aflyer, AOPA, EAA, etc). We’ve tried newspaper advertising, but that was too expensive for the results. We also try to get main-stream press (TV, major newspapers, radio) to cover the event and they can sign up for a free press flight if they agree to give coverage. Btw - If you are the right contact at a major news media in the greater Boston area – or can give me a personal contact at one of these media outlets, please contact me at: (substitute item in parenthesis with item indicated): EAA106(dot)President – then: (at)gmail.com WHERE WE NEED IDEAS: We’ve looked at Groupon and LivingSocial, but their fees (from my research) typically eat about 50% of the coupon price (which seems to be about 50% off). So a ticket for a flight on the B-17 which is $425 at the tour stop ($399 if booked in advance) would cut what EAA would receive to be just above $100 which would not even begin to cover the actual cost of the aircraft fuel & maintenance (parts from WWII are either rare and expensive or have to be hand-made …), hauling a maintenance trailer to the tour stop, etc. Since the flight price has been held for the past few years, but fuel and maintenance costs have gone up, I have to believe the museum must be operating the B-17 on minimal margin and needs most of the ticket price to cost the costs (which include the costs of flying it to us …). So a long answer to explain that we just cannot afford to offer a Groupon (or equivalent). We also cannot afford the locally mailed coupons. So – We need ideas … but economical ones … minimal printing & postage – and most of our members are older and don’t twitter, Facebook, etc. One idea I had was to snailmail flyers to upscale hotel concierges (something for a visitor to do), but is there any easy way (other than search every high-end chain hotel name one-by-one) to find a list of just the upscale hotels and addresses? What are some of YOURideas for getting the word out? THANKS for any helpful ideas! Resolved Question: Why do you bother allowing answers that are completely untrue and, at best, are merely opinions?

Most of the answers you receive for questions are not researched to assist the public in learning accurate information. Why do we demand truth in law and civil and criminal courts, truth in advertising, etc., but truth in media interferes with "free speech"? How do we educate the public and ensure the continuation of democracy if we are not given the truth? Without truth, this "Ask" site is worthless. more

Voting Question: Is my speech good enough?

The Media and our Body Images of female bodies that have the 'perfect' figure are all over the world. Women-and their body parts- sell all from foods to cars. Young women are being brainwashed into thinking that the ideal shape means to be skinny, tall, furthermore, being flawless, also known as perfect. ** thesis goes here** It's not just development that affects self-esteem. Many other factors (like media images of skinny girls) can affect a person's body image too. Seeing these images over and over may lead women to think that their own bodies are not acceptable, leading them to develop unhealthy body images. And unfortunately, such negative feelings can sap self-esteem and set the stage for eating disorders like anorexia and bulimia. Many women will strive for that 'perfect' frame no matter what they have to do. All the negative influence that the media is portraying as the 'perfect' body are causing more problems then solving them. People are beginning to go to great length just to stay thin, and flawless. An American research group of eating disorder, says, that one out of every four college-aged women uses unhealthy methods of weight control—including fasting, skipping meals, extreme exercise, abuse, and self-induced vomiting. Young girls, too, are being affected to stay thin. But we can stop this! One of the ways we can protect our self-esteem and body image from the media's definitions of beauty and acceptability is to become a critical viewer of the media that we are bombarded with each day. The media's news about body shape and size will affect the way we feel about our bodies and ourselves only if we let them. So, be aware of the 'flawless' images, the stereotypes based more on looks than on talents. The put-downs of people who don't fit the narrow definition of ideal. When we effectively recognize and analyze the media's messages that influence us, remember that the media's definitions of beauty and success does not define our self-image or potential. Overall, though its sad to say, media has completely took over our lifestyle. Although, it can be changed, it all depends how we feel about ourself. No one should want to change who they are because the media makes women feel like we have to 'look a certain way' or 'be a certain way'. The media is just words and pictures designed to advertise products and endorse. The harmful messages they send shouldn't be listened too! __________________________ If my speech needs correction or fixing, please fill free to do it. For my intro. im having problem on my thesis. Resolved Question: How do I write an honest resumé that actually sounds good and convincing?

I'm 25 years old, in my third year of college (graduating next year), and am looking for a job in a PR/advertising media consultancy as a copywriter, account executive, and market researcher. This is my fifth attempt at college and I'm doing well this time at 3.61 GPA score, but I barely have any proper work experience. I normally only include three of my studies in my resume: Performing Arts Communication (current), Communication Management & Advertising Design (2004-2005) and Marketing/Management (2002). The ones I left out were European Studies (2003, strange situation) and Philosophy (2006, didn't seriously want it, and have administrative problems so the school probably won't release my transcript anyway). However, I did learn from each and every one of my studies, no matter how bad I did. I've been trying to avoid discussions about my past in job interviews, but when my interviewer sees that I have so many studies under my wing, it just seems that they couldn't help but ask. The reason why I failed four times in college before was NOT because I was dumb or had a lousy work ethic. I left my first college because the circumstances there didn't enable me to pursue my life goals, and as soon as I arrived at my second college I made the innocent mistake of hanging with the wrong crowd, thus costing me the next three studies. If it weren't for the misfortune that was beyond my control, I really did study hard and would have succeeded in my earlier attempts for college. I hate this bit right here, because it makes me sound as though I wasn't responsible; whereas in reality I worked really hard to learn from my mistakes and press on to my goals despite the delay. I did work between ages 19-24, but not the kind that my prospective employers would want to hear. Very briefly in an apparel retailer (age 19). I did 2 years of multilevel marketing (ages 19-21) because it was the only place I felt safe and accepted during the period that I was trying to get out of a devastatingly abusive relationship a continent away from my family home. I took various freelance translating and interpreting jobs between the ages 19-24, which I can do very well across three languages, but I have never been able to repeat business as regular as I had wished. When I was 23, at the pressure of some friends, I attempted to start my own business: a performing arts event organizer and training center. However, since last year this organization went into hiatus in order to first properly learn about the trade, gain resources, and get connected to the right people. I haven't worked since because my studies started demanding the better of my time. Writing resumés makes me nervous because my history really hasn't been filled with a lot of success, and I guess the only good thing I have left to offer is hope and positive self-belief (despite the fact that I haven't been able to prove anything over the past couple of years). I really think I'm not a bad person or a loser, I just had been unlucky. But other than that, I'm really good at writing, speaking, making people buy into my ideas, researching, foreign languages, and helping others fulfill greater potential by gaining self-awareness. Based on these facts, I really do believe that I deserve a career and that there are jobs I can be successful in out there. Having said that, which studies and work experiences do I put in my CV, and which ones do I leave out? Since the problem had nothing to do with the professional, how do I answer to my interviewer when asked why I couldn't seem to commit to anything long term, without revealing any personal problems I went through? Interviewers have told me that although I know what I want, I don't have what it takes to achieve them; how do I prove them wrong? How can I make my resumé and interview get me the job I want?I'm also stuck when I'm obligated to state how much I made in the jobs. I was paid commissions in MLM, so it was irregular, and I didn't make much. I tend to disguise this job as "account executive for FMCG distribution company". What I made on translation also depended on the length and difficulty of the job; I never really depended on the money I made from it to live on month to month. What do I write in the CV and what do I tell my interviewer without exposing myself, and how do I make sure that my answers lead to a fair negotiation? more

Resolved Question: Presentation idea for school!?

I am in the 8th grade and i'm GT and we have to do something called TPSP. We have to choose a research topic. Mines is Teenage Obesity. My main focus question is how advertising affects teenage obesity. I already turned in my writing product which is a letter to APHA (American Public Health Association) to try and put restraints on the amounts of advertising done for unhealthy food on tv. I need a presentation idea to show my findings to my classmates and teachers. A powerpoint can only be used as a visual aid and it had to be creative and not boring. I got a suggestion for a speech to give to a group with the power to affect change in advertising and media (like members of Congress, or the FCC, or a group of advertising executives). But i don't know how to make this not boring. PLEASE HELP! Any ideas are great! more

Resolved Question: Please give constructive criticism for my research paper (not very long at all). I'd appreciate it! Thanks!?

Hi, I'm an 11 year old in 6th grade who is writing a research paper on eating disorders. I was wondering if you guys can give me any constructive criticism, especially on my transition statements, conclusion, and intro. It is kind of long so if you don't want to read all of it, skip to the intro and conclusion, but best answers will give me constructive criticism on my paper. Tell me if you've read all of it, only intro and conclusion, or skimmed. Thanks! I really truly appreciate your help! BTW, I never ask questions on here, I'm on my friend's account-- she's older than 13. Eating Disorders What types of eating disorders are there and what are the characteristics of each? About one-fiftieth (1/50) of the population has an eating disorder. That is about two out of every hundred people. People in their teens (especially ages 14-17) get eating disorders more frequently than other age groups. They are dangerous and take a heavy toll on one’s body. They also can cause severe problems in the body and sometimes even death. All of these facts make it extremely important to know more about Anorexia, Bulimia, other eating disorders known as EDNOS, what they are, and types of treatment. Eating disorders are extreme eating behaviors, unlike dieting and exercising. They form when a person has negative feelings and thought towards their body image, and are now starting to develop at disturbingly young ages. “Research shows that 42% of first- to third-grade girls want to be thinner and 81% of 10 year-olds are afraid of being fat. In fact, most kids with eating disorders began their disordered eating between the ages of 11 and 13.” (Eating Disorders 1). Two more widely known eating disorders are anorexia nervosa and bulimia nervosa. People with Anorexia Nervosa have “an extreme fear of weight gain and a distorted view of their body size and shape.” (Eating Disorders 1). The effect of this is that they would do almost anything to have a low body weight including exercising, dieting, limiting their calorie intake, and more. People who have anorexia tend to eat little food and a lot of them usually have a low body weight, whereas people with bulimia eat a large amount of food at once and then they vomit. Some people describe this as “… self-induced vomiting or laxative use” (Eating Disorders 1). Other disorders include chewing and spitting out food, uncontrollably eating a large amount of food, and vomiting after eating a normal amount of food. These disorders do not have a specific name, so they are called EDNOS- eating disorders not otherwise specified. EDNOS have the characteristics of an eating disorder but don’t qualify as one that has its own specific name. All of these eating disorders have something in common, even though they may seem very diverse: a cause. Most of the eating disorders are caused by a great number of things including, “…cultural and family pressures and emotional and personality disorders. Genetics and biologic factors may also play a role.” (Eating Disorders- Causes 1)People who have a family history of obesity, a history of abuse, a family history of emotion disorders and/or addictions, and poor parental behavior and parental attitudes all play roles in why a person gets an eating disorder. Most models, actors, actresses, and even a large number of normal people are slender, and this causes the people who aren’t so lean to make themselves think that they need to be. Clothing is usually meant for slender bodies, yet the media advertises “junk foods” so that they look appealing. However, they still require for you to be thin to fit into certain clothing properly. There can be a number of abnormalities in our bodies that can make us develop an eating disorder; these abnormalities take place in a small part of the brain called the limbic system, specifically, the abnormalities take place in the hypothalamic-pituitary-axis (HPA) .The best way to prevent an eating disorder is for a person’s friends and family to be supportive and positive about the food a person is eating, and making sure that they don’t eat too much or eat too little, like patients with anorexia. Anorexia nervosa is one of the most common disorders; anorexia; it also has a lot of symptoms that can be deadly. Anorexia is Latin for “nervous loss of appetite”. Voting Question: Please give constructive criticism for my research paper (not very long at all). I'd appreciate it a lot!?

It is “…characterized by a severe revulsion towards eating that results in extreme thinness and sometimes even death from self-inflicted starvation.” (Anorexia Nervosa 1). Voting Question: Could someone give me constructive critisicm on a research paper?

This is a research paper. If there is anything wrong with it, tell me what is. Tell me how to fix it. Is the first sentence captivating? Does the last sentence FEEL like it's the end? Is it good? If you were a teacher, what is the grade that you'd give me? Keep in mind that this was made by an 11 year old (I'm on one of my friends' accounts.) the 1st question is the topic question. It's kind of long, but the one with the most constuctive criticism will get 10 points. Please read this. Resolved Question: I'm a communications major, and was wondering if anybody knows a good Senior Thesis Research topic?

Ok, so i'm a Communications Major, and i'm taking Senior Thesis (which is a class I need to fully graduate). I have to do a 25-35 page research paper on a communication topic about anything that deals with communication. For example, some of the topics the students in my class chose dealt with social networking and another was "How does sports advertising and its messages affect the children looking up to them" something along those lines. Also, another one was "Why do movie companies make movie sequels". Basically the research topic has to be put in the form of a question that needs to be answered in the paper. I'm actually stuck and can't come up with a good research topic. I want to do something interesting that could involve the media (music or film), or communication within the workplace (leadership roles, etc). Also, something where there is a lot of information about the topic out there (scholarly reviewed/approved articles), and not be too broad, or narrow (where there isn't a lot of information about it). Can anybody give me a good research topic that is interesting to research and involves communication? more

Resolved Question: If deportation of all illegals crushes the Hispanic Market, do anti-immigration folks care?

And do they have a plan to cover those billions, maybe even trillions lost to the US economy? I ask about Hispanics/Hispanic Market because they seem to only focus on them. ================================== The Growing Hispanic Market in the United States Virtually every type of company and organization in the United States is being impacted by the growth of the Hispanic population. You see it in government, healthcare, manufacturing, food service, construction, education, finance, legal, and these are just a few examples. Marketing and selling to the U.S. Hispanics has become so important that universities are offering programs on the subject. Florida State University has recently created a center for Hispanic marketing communications offering graduate certificates and undergraduate minor programs. Following are some facts for consideration: U.S. Hispanic purchasing power has surged to nearly $700 billion and is projected to reach as much as $1 trillion by 2007, nearly three times the overall national rate over the past decade. (Source: HispanTelligence®.) The top areas where Hispanics spend more than non-Hispanics are: groceries, telephone services, furniture, men’s and boys apparel, children’s clothing and footwear. (Source: Selig Center.) The U.S. Hispanic market ranks as the third largest “Latin American economy” behind Brazil and Mexico. There are more Hispanics living in the United States, than the entire population of Canada, which is 32.5 million. (Source: U.S. Census.) We are like a country within a country. Hispanic advertising by U.S. companies grew 24 percent in 2003, compared with 8.6 percent for the general market. (Source: Media Economics Group, research firm that tracks Spanish-language marketing.) By mid-century, 25 percent or one out of every four people in the United States will be Hispanic. The African American population by mid-century will remain at the current rate of 13 percent of the total United States population. (Source: U.S. Census Bureau.) An IRS report predicts that 1 out of every 10 small businesses will be Hispanic by the year 2007. Today the proportion stands at 1 in 13 and rising. Resolved Question: Do you think my dreams are stupid? The degree I'm pursuing, my life goals...?

I have been holding a job at my campus since I was a freshman where I meet people visiting our campus. I get paid to mingle, talk, inform, etc. Basically speak + entertain them. I've found my background in my major Communications has been really helpful but I'm so scared about the real world! My focus is in Electronic Media, and I can't begin to describe how much I've learned about social media, advertising, persuasion techniques, business, etc. I feel like it's shaping me into a better writer, speaker + my networking has increased so much. My minor is Marketing and I'm trying to get a PR certificate. My dream is to get a job, and attend Animation school at the same time. On the side I work with music and have a dance team. I feel like my friends wanting to be doctors/engineers/teachers, etc are more practical...and I'm foolish. I've come so far, won awards, and have my own website paid for by the school just to write for the campus and entertain readers. I've looked at other majors, read up on everything, I've researched and I STILL love what I want :( All the career tests online and at my university say being a film director, creator or designer is what's right for me but I'm scared. more

Resolved Question: Best dog food from Petsmart for young adult medium breed (Beagle)?

Don't answer unless you have done some research, please, or have a good reason why you recommend the dog food. I am not saying this to be rude - I am just frustrated by all the confusing and conflicting information online. Even veterinarians don't necessarily give good advice, at least the ones I have seen typically support the ones that provide them with samples ect. which are not necessarily any good at all. I am extremely frustrated from looking online - I would like to pick a good one from Petsmart, because this is where I go and I don't have a lot of other options. I want the best I can afford for my Beagle girl, but I'm not rolling in the dough so I can't buy something that's super expensive. There has to be some pretty decent food there somewhere, right? There are countless reviews online for hundreds of different foods *sigh* but it's all really confusing. I wish there was an honest (not biased or advertising) website that covered the main brands, so that the average dog food-buying customer, who can't afford extremely expensive stuff, could choose something good for their dogs. Thanks in advance for advice : ) Sarah & Annie the Beagle more

Resolved Question: please read the below article and tell me the quality of english 1. very bad 2. ok 3. good?

How to use Internet Marketing. In todays competitve world where there is no time even to read a newspaper completely, all at one stop seems to be the solution. People just want to pose the problem and ‘kablam’- the answer. This can be achieved only through a media where solutions meet at one place - Internet. Since Internet seems to be the most preferred search answer domain, it is inevitable for industries to reach their hands in there too. So how to use Internet Marketing? Simple, people type in their queries in Google and the search engine brings in all results containing the keywords. Hence the basic practical point is to create a website for the central product. Secondly, social networking sites are the new-ins. So...? Create groups connect with people and post the advertisement. Not only will Google match the keywords, people will explore all horizons to the posted material. Also SMTP can be used to send e-mail to multiple recipients. Hence send e-mail with attractive subject lines which catch eyes. Professional link building tool can also be used so that the product get displayed in searches related to publics query Also video is something which people are interested in seeing. Hence start with something spicy and then start advertising the product. The start should be like comedy for example so that people dont lose interest and may also rate the video which in turn would attract other people to watch them. Social sites like Facebook, Orkut etc have video library facility. Hence post them in your account. This would help other people related to you (friends) see the updates. Also you can go to sites which have blogs and questions answered. E.g., yahooanswers, wiki snwers etc are where people pose question. Post suitable interesting answers and give hyperlink to the catchy words to the product to be marketed. Hence when the individual clicks the link he is directed to product advertisement. Get yourselves registered to sms sites which provide free sms services. Write short and sweet advertisement for the product and send them as sms’s to the recepients. Dont forget to give contact id. All these takes a little bit of hard work and research but the work does pay off. Dont loose hope, carefully seleect your audience and impress them with the promises the product has. more

Resolved Question: Is the only way to get a paid ad on the lib biased media like ABC is to support the Marxist Obama's Obamacare?

Do you need a job fast? Last June, as Newsbusters readers will remember, ABC allowed President Obama to pitch his health care proposal in a special edition of ABC's Primetime hosted by retiring World News anchor Charlie Gibson and (now incoming anchor) Diane Sawyer. Obama was given additional airtime to pitch his health care agenda that evening on Nightline. Conservatives didn't get equal time. Worse, ABC News even refused to allow the conservative group Conservatives for Patients Rights to purchase paid advertising to put out an alternative perspective. In the 98 broadcast days of ABC World News advertising logged by National Center Executive Director David Almasi and analyzed by Policy Analyst Matt Patterson, ABC's World News broadcast featured 1,102 commercials, 597 of which were placed by member companies of the Pharmaceutical Research and Manufacturers of America (PhRMA) trade association, representing 54.17 percent of total commercials aired. PhRMA very aggressively supports President Obama's health care agenda. http://newsbusters.org/ more

Resolved Question: PLEASE check this English letter for me!~~?

Hi, I have traselated this letter to English. I am really appreciate if someone could check this for me. Dec.15 is my deadline and I cannot find any native speaker around me. By the way, I think I am good at Chinese and Japanese. I would like to help anyone with Chinese and Japanese problem. With great pleasure and enthusiasm that I recommend to you Miss. X, an excellent student, who had worked under my immediate supervision for nearly three years, to your graduate program. During these 3 years, she put a lot of energy on academic research and set on online advertising, consumer behavior and Product placement advertising(PPL) as her research field. She also worked very well as my assistant and really helped me a lot in my projects, especially in Shizuoka Tourist Administration China Marketing plan, Media preferring of High Net Worth Chinese research projects. Miss X has a unique perspective towards her research. As a result, two of her papers about PPL and new media won National level Award. I would like to mention one of her papers about PPL in dubbed and subtitled movies to explain her research ability. Although the data of the research seemed show nothing special, Miss X analyzed the data again and again using different methods. Finally, she innovatively pointed out that the subtitle did an effect on memory to product, and when a product placed in a international movie dubbed and subtitled factor should be considerate. She said she would continue research in this area and put more energy into the game advertising. I believe that she has already prepared for her doctoral program. Next I would like to talk about her performance in projects to demonstrate her strong execution and problems solving abilities. In 2008, I involved her in my Shizuoka Tourist Administration China Marketing plan project. In this project, the target is High Net Worth Chinese, which is a new concept so the information of it was very limited. It was Miss X to make an effort on solving this problem. She contacted her friends worked in the advertising agency in China to collect useful data. And she had leaded other team members to design a questionnaire, send out questionnaires in proper internet media to collect first-hand information. Within a few months, they obtained valuable information to help the project complete successfully.Could you correct the unnatrue parts or sentences or words for me?Thanks! more

Resolved Question: What has happened to the Obama News Network, called CNN?

CNN falls to last place in ratings for prime-time programs In Nielsen Media Research figures released by the networks Monday, CNN's prime-time programs fell to fourth place. It's the first time since the network launched more than 20 years ago that it finished last in prime time -- the area all networks rely on the heaviest for advertising. Buoyed by a tight Obama-Clinton Democratic presidential primary, which led to prime-time shows such as "CNN Election Center," the network enjoyed high ratings prior to President Barack Obama taking office. But media analysts were left wondering if the network had enough in its programming vault to stay at or near the top. http://www.ajc.com/business/cnn-falls-to-last-175077.html?cxtype=rss_news_128746 And right up above them in next to last place is MSNBC, whoops, too bad people with brains are actually watching the only station that does not have "leg twitching" fools like Chrissy Matthews, CNN the Obama support propaganda station has fallen to last place. more

Resolved Question: Follow my passion or follow my father?

I'm applying for college this year, I'm almost done with all of them. My dad wants me to become a Physical Therapist like my aunt since she isn't having any trouble with the economy and getting a job and stuff. So that's what I applied for, and some of the colleges required me to choose a second course, I chose something in the arts or media. My sister and my mom says that I have a talent and tell me not to listen to my dad, but with the economy and such, it scares me, plus I'd like the chance to travel abroad and work there. I've been talking to my friend and he's planning on taking BS psych cause he wants to make toxins or whatever, and I ask him why isn't he afraid of the economy and all that, and he says "sigh, the economy, you only get to live once" and he started talking to me about the chemical reactions blah blah blah, and i asked him how he knows so much, and he says he does research in his free time. So it got me thinking, what do I do in my spare time? I look at clothes and make up looks, not trends but more like, interesting clothes that are more like art than just a trend. Resolved Question: Do you think Obama/Baucus healthcare "reform" is for special interest groups...not people?

http://www.politico.com/news/stories/1009/28362.html At a meeting last April with corporate lobbyists, aides to President Barack Obama and Sen. Max Baucus (D-Mont.) helped set in motion a multimillion-dollar advertising campaign, primarily financed by industry groups, that has played a key role in bolstering public support for health care reform. The role Baucus’s chief of staff, Jon Selib, and deputy White House chief of staff Jim Messina played in launching the groups was part of a successful effort by Democrats to enlist traditional enemies of health care reform to their side. No quid pro quo was involved, they insist, as do the lobbyists themselves. ....................“What you’ve had was the Senate and the White House sitting down and cutting deals with special interests,” he said. “I don’t think that’s quite what the American people signed up for when the Obama campaign said that they were going to limit the influence of special interests in this White House.” Criticism — from the left and the right — of the PhRMA deal and the coalitions became more pointed after it was revealed in August that the coalitions were paying two firms with close ties to the White House to cut ads: AKPD Message and Media, which was founded by White House senior adviser David Axelrod, still owes him $2 million and employs one of his sons — and GMMB. Liberals contended drug companies were being let off the hook. And congressional Republicans distributed talking points asserting the PhRMA deal raised “serious questions as to whether the drug lobby is helping to bankroll a multimillion-dollar severance package for one of the president’s senior advisers.” Baucus Bill Sticks To Pharma Deal That Supposedly Wasn't Struck http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2009/09/18/baucus-bill-sticks-to-pha_n_290639.html The bill unveiled by Senate Finance Committee Chairman Max Baucus has been blasted as a major giveaway to insurance companies. But the even bigger winners are the drug makers. That's because the Baucus bill matches up, nearly to the letter, with the secret deal that he, the White House and Big Pharma struck over the summer -- a deal the various parties roundly denied had been struck when it went public. In August, the Huffington Post published a memo that outlined exactly what each side was going to do for the other. And Big Pharma was getting a lot more than they were giving up. Pharmaceutical Research and Manufacturers of America senior vice president Ken Johnson said that the outline "is simply not accurate." White House spokesman Reid Cherlin concurred: "This memo isn't accurate and does not reflect the agreement with the drug companies." But now that the bill is out, let's fact check those denials. more

Resolved Question: When will the Far Left learn that the more they attack Glen Beck the more popular he & his message become?

Here the call to arms by the Far Left Huffington Post: Tomorrow Glenn Beck's army of zombie retirees are marching on Washington in protest of, well, everything. It's the Million Moron March, although they won't get a million of course, because many will be confused and drive to Washington state -- but they will make news. http://www.huffingtonpost.com/bill-maher/new-rule-float-like-obama_b_284151.html Here's the result of their most recent boycott: An advertising boycott against Fox News host Glenn Beck has succeeded in keeping most major sponsors from running commercials on his show even as the controversial commentator's viewership has grown. Beck attracted 2.81 million viewers Monday, his third-largest audience since his show launched on Fox News in January, according to Nielsen Media Research data provided by the network. Resolved Question: Why did Obama's effort 2 brand Beck as a racist & take away his sponsors fail to lower his viewer audience?

Since Obama strategically tried to brand Beck as a racist and strip him of his corporate sponsorship his viewing audience has only increased tenfold. An advertising boycott against Fox News host Glenn Beck has succeeded in keeping most major sponsors from running commercials on his show even as the controversial commentator's viewership has grown. Beck attracted 2.81 million viewers Monday, his third-largest audience since his show launched on Fox News in January, according to Nielsen Media Research data provided by the network. On Tuesday, nearly 2.7 million viewers tuned in, his fifth-largest viewership to date. Resolved Question: Dissertation Help! Anyone have any info on the 'premature sexualisation' of children in the current media?

Hey I'm just about to go into my last year at Uni. I'm studying fashion promotion and I'm currently gathering research for my dissertation which is on shock advertising. This is obviously a broad subject and we are required to be more specific. I initially began with looking at the difference between using 'shock' to promote fashion companies and as a means to draw attention to public service advertisements. However I discovered that there wasn't many recent articles on this and it wasn't particularly a current topic. After much research I therefore decided to specifically look at how the media, and in particular fashion advertising, has began to directly as well as indirectly sexualise young children. I also wanted to research what negative effects this might have on the youth of today and who is really to blame and who is really to blame for this sudden surge in 'corporate paedophilia'. So I was wondering if anyone had any views or information on this topic or had recently done a similar paper. This is the dissertation question I have came up with so far, it needs reworking but I need some constructive criticism!... 'Images of sexualised children in the media are becoming increasingly common, particularly in fashion advertising and marketing material. Is this premature sexualisation of children within the media, presenting the youth of today with greater pressures to adopt a more sexualised appearance and behaviour at an early age? If so, what are the negative effects that may be encountered through this type of ‘corporate paedophilia’? And before you ask my lecturers have been really pants with helping me and haven't replied to any of my emails so far! Any help much appreciated, thanks! x more

Resolved Question: My first and only 2012 question! Is SONY entertainment acting legally with the IHC website?

www.instituteforhumancontinuity.org/ ^ I'm sure the cronies at Sony entertainment will have looked seriously into the legality of this issue, but is there any possibility that someone could sue Sony for false advertising or even inciting fear/mass panic/public disturbance? There are a number of outrageous lies. Notably: 'The Institute for Human Continuity is dedicated to scientific progress and public preparedness. After more than two decades of rigorous research from the world's top astronomers, mathematicians, geologists, physicists, anthropologists, engineers, futurists...we know in 2012 a series of cataclysmic forces will wreak havoc on our planet.' All this under the pretense of a .org website, when it is in fact a business. Is that legal to wrongly portray a business as an organization, even if it is only as a marketing tool? Surely 'we know' - in the paragraph above - is false advertising? --- Why should this matter? Because children can be easily influenced and duped. They aren't stupid, but when they see a site like this that looks authentic, and have grown up in the internet age, they might well take it as truth. We hear of a child committing suicide in India over media lies about the Large Hadron Collider. The 2012 myth has generated a lot more press than the LHC, and I'm concerned that SONY might have some blood on their hands with this latest monstrosity before long. Maybe you think this is over the top. Your thoughts are appreciated.Lets hope so, Michael. I honestly think there might be a number of suicides related to the 2012 myth though. The website offends me with its mere existence. The film - not so much. But you can see how people might be lured into the trap with this website when it is not at all clear that it is related to the film or Sony, and presented in this official-looking way.Michael: heh heh, thank you. If there is any small chance that they're acting illegally, then I'd like to take some action, somehow.UPDATE: I've just asking this question in the legal section: http://uk.answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=AgmFKyrE46gi0ZcIUe4sb2cgBgx.;_ylv=3?qid=20090828154055AABBYmA more

Resolved Question: why is it wrong for glenn beck to call obama a racist but ok kanye west say bush didn't like black people?

NEW YORK – Glenn Beck returns to Fox News Channel on Monday after a vacation with fewer companies willing to advertise on his show than when he left, part of the fallout from calling President Barack Obama a racist. A total of 33 Fox advertisers, including Wal-Mart Stores Inc., CVS Caremark, Clorox and Sprint, directed that their commercials not air on Beck's show, according to the companies and ColorofChange.org, a group that promotes political action among blacks and launched a campaign to get advertisers to abandon him. That's more than a dozen more than were identified a week ago. While it's unclear what effect, if any, this will ultimately have on Fox and Beck, it is already making advertisers skittish about hawking their wares within the most opinionated cable TV shows. The Clorox Co., a former Beck advertiser, now says that "we do not want to be associated with inflammatory speech used by either liberal or conservative talk show hosts." The maker of bleach and household cleaners said in a statement that it has decided not to advertise on political talk shows. The shows present a dilemma for advertisers, who usually like a "safe" environment for their messages. The Olbermanns, Hannitys, O'Reillys, Maddows and Becks of the TV world are more likely to say something that will anger a viewer, who might take it out on sponsors. They also host the most-watched programs on their networks. "This is a good illustration of that conundrum," said Rich Hallabran, spokesman for UPS Stores, which he said has temporarily halted buying ads on Fox News Channel as a whole. Beck can bring the eyeballs. With the health care debate raising political temperatures, his show had its biggest week ever right before his vacation, averaging 2.4 million viewers each day, according to Nielsen Media Research. He was actually on another Fox show July 28 when he referred to Obama as a racist with "a deep-seated hatred for white people." The network immediately distanced itself from Beck's statement, but Beck didn't. He used his radio show the next day to explain why he believed that. He would not comment for this article, spokesman Matthew Hiltzik said. ColorofChange.org quickly targeted companies whose ads had appeared during Beck's show, telling them what he had said and seeking a commitment to drop him. The goal is to make Beck a liability, said James Rucker, the organization's executive director. "They have a toxic asset," Rucker said. "They can either clean it up or get rid of it." It's not immediately clear how many of the companies actually knew they were advertising on Beck's show. Sometimes commercial time is chosen for a specific show, but often it is bought on a rotation basis, meaning the network sprinkles the ads throughout the day on its own schedule. Sometimes ads appear by mistake; Best Buy said it bought commercial time for earlier in the day, and one of its ads unexpectedly appeared in Beck's show. One company, CVS Caremark, said it advertises on Fox but hadn't said anything about Beck. Now it has told its advertising agency to inform Fox that it wanted no commercials on Beck. "We support vigorous debate, especially around policy issues that affect millions of Americans, but we expect it to be informed, inclusive and respectful," said spokeswoman Carolyn Castel. Besides the unpredictability of the opinionated cable hosts, the rapid pace of today's wired world complicates decisions on where to place ads, said Kathleen Dunleavy, a spokeswoman for Sprint. She said she was surprised at how fast the Beck issue spread across social media outlets and how quickly advertiser names were attached to it. UPS' Hallabran said the decision to pull commercials "should not be interpreted as we are permanently withdrawing our advertising from Fox." He said the company wants to reach viewers with a wide spectrum of opinions. Except for UPS Stores, there's no evidence that any advertisers who say they don't want to be on Beck's show are leaving Fox. Network spokeswoman Irena Briganti said the companies have simply requested the ads be moved elsewhere and that Fox hasn't lost any revenue. She wouldn't say whether Fox was benefiting from any anti-anti-Beck backlash, with companies looking to support him. Some Beck supporters have urged fans to express their displeasure at companies for abandoning their man. Beck supporters have suggested that retaliation might have something to do with ColorofChange.org's campaign. One of the group's founders, Van Jones, now works in the Obama administration and has been criticized by Beck. But Rucker said Jones has nothing to do with ColorofChange.org now and didn't even know about the campaign before it started. Beck's strong ratings — even at 5 p.m. EDT he often outdraws whatever CNN and MSNBC show in prime-time — make it unlikely Beck is going anywhere even as the list of advertisers avoiding him approaches three dozen. But it could mean advei should have known the libs would be all over this you have nothing to do but stay home , not work and make sure no one spites obama you people are idiots same as kanye the only racists are the people that voted for obama knowing nothing about him except what the news media (who said nothing about his racist priest that he had been going to for 20 years) and as soon as the first black / white situation came up ie gates he backed the black guy without knowing the situation that shows alot more

Voting Question: How do you become a social marketing consultant?

I have a bachelors degree in Advertising and have a little more than a year of advertising experience. I have not done any internet marketing or social media marketing. I want to get into social media marketing but not sure how to start. I have done research and know the basics of what social media marketing is. But I want to know how can I get into social media marketing. Are there any certification that I can get online (preferably free)? It would be nice if there are any examples of how people have gotten into this business. All feedback is appreciated. more

Resolved Question: I have a statement about economic theory and would like some feedback its also a small question.?

My theory about the current economic recession is that there isn't one its a hoax. The media controls the demand we are all brainwashed by the media we can only think what we know so in essence a bad economy is brought on by bombardment of the words in quote''In these tough Economic times" What a joke it's people who do things we create are own destiny not a piece of paper or the current housing market. I will say that I understand the housing problem and feel that's an actual issue. So what do you think Is it reality tough economic times are people dying left and right from hunger are people gone homeless by the thousands? I think people are dumb supply- demand nobody really knows because they are told what they need to buy from media giants and advertising. Most people do not have an independent mind they buy what they think is right subconsciously even if they did research on the product like a Prius.Banks are the culprit bad loans I get all of that but what about the stupid media always telling us about tough economic times why not positive thinking productive ideas not doom and gloom for ratings it has a profound effect this propaganda. more

Resolved Question: What are your thoughts on how men are represented in advertising?

This is for my A2 Media Studies research, if you could reply it would help me a lot! more

Resolved Question: Did you know there is link between sexual imagery and violent behavior?

I do no have the research citations immediately available, I left graduate school 10 years ago, but I learned of some studies that were done in 1960s and 1970s era, that demonstrate links between sexual imagery and violent behavior. Another reason for my brain chemistry explosion the other day (yes, there were many contributors to what happened), is I have been getting angrier and angrier every day at unsolicited sexual imagery on the Internet in advertising, including ads for singles and dating services (they are really ads for finding sex without commitment) that Yahoo places in email when you sign up as male gender. The women in these ads are dressed inappropriate and in poses that say, "take me if you want me." They are sick and I got sick from having them in my email everyday for months on end. I never made conscious effort to look at these ads, you don't have to, the computer screen isn't that big, you can focus away from them, but they are subliminal lurking at you unless you cover them, which you have to keep doing as they keep popping up. This and a Weird Al video I was watching a bit earlier reminded me of those studies. Do you realize those studies are evidence indicting the American advertising industry and Hollywood for use of sexual imagery because it actually promotes brain chemicals that promote aggression and violence? Americans are angry people and our mass media's undue use of sexual imagery in advertising can be proven scientifically to be contributing to the problem.I was watching "ebay" in which the insightful lyrics have suggestion of a very unhappy person who is trying to make himself happy with consumer items, with idols, with things, but he is not getting any happier, he is only suppressing growing anger and in the middle of the song announces this anger. The video included a couple further suggestions of sexual imagery in advertising and promoted by Hollywood and I had a sudden memory about those studies. more
