Resolved Question: How do I ensure that bad cat breeders get their just deserts?
Hello and thank you for taking the time to read my question(novel), any advice that you can contribute would be greatly appreciated. I have wanted a Ragdoll cat for the last 5 or so years and on a spur of the moment decision last week my partner finally agreed to let me have one. Naively I wasn't aware that these type of cats should be bought from registered owners with paperwork etc. I understand that this is my own fault. However, I had seen advertised on a popular advertisement website that there were Ragdoll kittens for sale at £250 nearby (West Lothian). My partner and I went to view the kittens and there were 3, I said that I was looking for a boy, the woman said she had two boys, picked one up and handed it to me whilst she talked about the characteristics of Ragdoll cats and showed me both the parents. Unfortunately on the way home in the car I noticed that the kitten had a slight deformity on his hind left leg. It is slightly shorter and has only two metatarsal bones which causes the kitten to limp slightly. I emailed the breeders the same night but they didn't respond, my partner tried phoning them but they wouldn't answer the phone. Today I took the the kitten to the vet who checked him over, I told the vet that the kitten will run and jump about and it doesn't seem to affect him at all and he is quite happy. The vet has said that he is healthy in every other way and as he gets older it may be in the kittens interest to amputate the leg due to him getting bigger and heavier it may be best but it's something he will assess in months to come. The vet has said that this operation may cost 200-300 pounds and that it was unfair and unlikely that the breeders had not noticed this deformity. He has said that I should amicably contact them and ask for a partial refund to help pay towards the vet bills or return him. The vet also took the breeders details and said to ask them to contact him at the surgery and he would verify this. Failing that he has said to report them to the trading standards. My partner managed to speak with the husband breeder today who was unhelpful and uncooperative (I'll refrain from typing what my partner actually said...) The breeder barely gave my partner a chance to explain the situation and basically said he would refuse to pay anything towards the operation and to take him back if we were not happy. Taking the kitten back is all fair and well but I'm not sure that I would trust these people to refund us properly and I don't believe that they would care for the kitten appropriately or may just try to fob it off on someone else. In hindsight these people aren't compassionate towards the kittens, they only see £££ signs. I'm sorry that I've warbled on, I'm almost done... I've had the kitten for 5 days now, I've affectionately named him Toulouse after Toulouse-Lautrec and he's snuggled up next to me. It is easy for others to say "it's just a cat, put things into perspective..." I appreciate that we all have different opinions and beliefs but I would like to think of myself as a responsible cat owner who has agreed to take responsibility for Toulouse, after all, he is oblivious to the upset and has done nothing wrong, would someone else let him limp about painfully when he is bigger or put him to sleep rather than forking out a vet bill. What a waste of a sweet life that would be. I'm very angry at the breeders, I think it is very unfair what they have done and they have handled it terribly. I've accepted that they wont give any money back but I feel that I should be doing something to get these breeders pulled up? Can I report them to trading standards? Or another similar body? Where do I stand? Do I have a case or is this just something that I will have to chalk up to experience and wait for Karma to take effect? moreOpen Question: Advertising Plain Dealer Newspaper Phone Book?

In the september 2010 issue in Cosmopolitan, on page 88 they advertise fur boots from Rocket Dog, with a sort of shoelace tied over the fur. They cost a fortune and I couldn't get a refund. I want to put them on Ebay but you cant sell knock offs or "designer inspired" goods. They are real leather and look good.Any ideas? moreOpen Question: What if Obama were to nationalize pharmaceutical companies?
Along with his endeavors to nationalize the finance, health, and auto industries, I think he would do well to work on drug companies. The industry claims prices are so high because of research costs. But any of you who have ever worked in a hospital or doctor's office or clinic know what waste the drug companies expend on freebies, including lunches and dinners out for whole departments. It all comes under advertising. If the pharmaceutical companies did not spend so much on advertising-- tv, magazines, radio, billboards, promo items, etc.-- drug costs would come down significantly.Do they even need to advertise? The only people who need to be kept up to date on new meds are doctors. Anyone can search online for interactions and applications and counterindications.TV and magazine ads just create more hypochondriacs daily. Exactly what the drug companies want.Look around your doctor's office next time and see all the free gizmos you pay for. moreOpen Question: help with precalculus assignment?

Tyler Smith has worked in an upholstery shop for 10 years. Last year, Tyler’s wages were $20,000. Lately, Tyler has been unhappy with the shop’s owner. Convinced that he could run an upholstery shop that did better work at a lower cost, Tyler decided to go into business for himself and opened CLASSIC UPHOLSTERY SHOP. He started the business by investing $20,000 of his own funds into the business, a sole proprietorship. To get the business going, Tyler decided to invest heavily in advertising. He spent $6,000 on advertising aimed at consumers and another $2,000 on advertising aimed at getting work from interior decorators and interior design stores. Tyler also purchased industrial sewing machines costing $4,000 and other tools and equipment costing $3,000. He estimated that the sewing machines can be used for about 5 years before maintenance costs will be too high and the machines will need to be replaced. The other tools and equipment are not as durable and will have to be replaced in 3 years. At the end of the first year of business, Tyler had received $80,000 in cash from customers for upholstery work. Tyler was owed another $2,500 from customers who are not required to pay cash, but are billed every 30 days. A review of Tyler’s checkbook shows he paid the following expenses (in addition to those mentioned previously) during the first year of business: Upholstery fabric $40,000 Other supplies 10,000 Wages----part-time assistant 9,500 Rent 4,800 Insurance (2-year policy) 3,200 Utilities 2,500 Miscellaneous expenses 1,700 Tyler’s utility bill for the last month of the year has not arrived. He estimated that the bill will be approximately $320. Tyler keeps some stock of upholstery fabric in popular colors on hand for customers who do not want to wait for special-order fabric to arrive. At the end of the year, about $14,000 of the fabric purchased during the year was in his store stock. In addition, $2,300 in supplies had not been used. HOW MUCH PROFIT DID TYLER MAKE IN HIS FIRST YEAR OF BUSINESS? (Hint: Prepare an Income Statement!) DO YOU THINK IT WAS A GOOD IDEA TO OPEN THE UPHOLSTERY SHOP, OR WOULD TYLER BE BETTER OFF WITH HIS OLD JOB? moreResolved Question: Can you deduct a portion of your auto expenses if you advertise your business on your car?

Hello all. I have a Licensed Childcare Home and in spite of all the advertising I've been doing over the past 3 weeks I still have one more opening on first shift. I'm trying to think of unique ways to advertise.. passing out business cards, flyers, ads in the newspaper, craigslist, ads on facebook have worked in the past..but not so much right now. I have spent $300 in the past 3 weeks on advertising and i'm almost broke! it's frustrating..feels like i'm just handing out $100 bills to people. There is a large piece of land about 5 miles from my house. The owner rents it out Saturday mornings to anyone who wants to have a yard sale there. Saturday mornings there are lots of families selling their stuff and lots of people shopping. I thought I'd rent a space there..set up a table..and give out for free..gift bags of candy, soda, water, coloring books, crayons, apples, and oranges. In all the gift bags would be my business card and I'd stamp my logo inside the coloring books. Everything would be given for free. And I'd make a poster to hang up and tie some balloons to my table. Does this sound like a good idea? or kinda cheesy? I know it will cost me $100 to do this idea. Anyone have any other unique idea to advertise a business? thanks moreVoting Question: Has anyone used an image consultant?
Mainly I want to know a ball park of how much they cost. I am not super trendy (which in and of itself I am OK with) but I don't really feel like I have any sense of style. I am 24 (if it matters) and the only reason I really care about finding one now is that I feel "blah" a lot. I have a boyfriend so I am not "looking for love", and I have a steady job so I am not "looking to move up in the professional world" or at least not in the sense that I think style would help me do it, like most of the sites claim to be able to help you with. I am OK with the way I look most days, but I think I would like to be more than just OK, but I also don't feel a need to be "the one that everyone watches in a crowded room" or anything like that. This is probably not making sense to anyone, so I'll move on. ANYWAY, I'd like to look into an image consultant that can help me find that medium. I don't need to be a fashion plate, on the cutting edge, and spending mega bucks and mega time on my looks, but I'd like to look a little nicer than my usual long hair down or in a pony tail, t-shirt and jeans, usually no make-up look. (I do take care of my hygiene and stuff, and I have a fit figure, so I don't look like a slob or anything- its just not necessarily anything special). My fear is that image consultants are such fashion conscious people that I would be pushed to go "fashion forward" or "super trendy" which I don't really think would work out so well for me. I guess my two questions are thus: What is a ball park amount I should expect to spend in hiring/working with an image consultant? If you have used an image consultant, do they really keep in mind YOUR budget, time allowances, personal comfort etc the way they advertise? Or are they gonna be expecting me to wear heels to the grocery store when they're done? Thank you in advanced for dealing with my rambling.Ok, so ironically enough, I do have a balanced diet, I don't do yoga, but I teach dance and do pilates, and I walk every day with my dog. It's not a health/body image issue for me. I'm healthy and happy. I just don't want to be predictable and boring. moreResolved Question: Puppy birth question: This is my dog's second litter and the first pup is dead. Please help.?
As I said, this is my dog's second litter. Her first litter went fine. This one she had problems with. Prelabor bleeding. Several days before the pup came. But finally she birthed. She popped out 1 pup and it came out dead. I tried to give it some puppy cpr but it was already gone. She doesn't want to let it out of her sight and she keeps moving it and digging at the blankets where we have her. I can tell she is VERY stressed out. It's been about 2 hours since she birthed that one and she hasn't birthed anymore pups yet. What should I do? I've experienced a lot of pup births but none like this. Should I take the pup away or leave it with her? Is there anything I can do? And if so, what should I do? And to anyone wanted to reply with, "You should have just got her spade!!!! Oh my gosh your so dumb!" Save it. I want to get her spade and will, now that me and my wife are going to start our new jobs. But unfortunately, even though the advertise to do it all the time, spay and neuter cost a lot of money. Especially if you lower middle class/poverty. Just to let you know, my dog is like my daughter. If I didn't love her, I wouldn't be on here looking for help. Thank you for your help. Also, she is a 4 year old boxer-pit mix bred with a 2 year old boxer-german shepard mix. They are both very well tempered and loving dogs.To raven. or however you spell your name. I have talked to the vet several times and they said I would have to pay $1200 at the minimum if she needed surgery. We have called them several times since the bleeding started and they advised us on things to do. Next time. Find it in your soul to be something other than a hateful evil person and at least try to help someone in need you selfish prick.PLEASE READ: Wow. alot of people are just insulting. I thought that there might be someone adult enough on here to understand that sometimes people lose their job in this economy and it makes it hard to do things that you could normally do. I did try seperating the two but without the money to afford and 200-500 dollard kennel I couldn't do much. No it was not planned. II wouldn't plan a pregnancy that I knew I couldn't afford. I just thought that maybe someone might understand that sometimes someone wants input from someone who has had a similar situation. Obviously asking for help is a bad thing. I can't believe what you people are saying. Yes I know, I need to call a vet """""'Like I have been doing!""""" I just wanted to see if there was anyone left in the world that might have some KIND words or some encouragement. I guess that's too much to ask anymore.BTW if you see someones name that I have responded to and there answer isn't here. It's because they chose to use a HELP forum for abuse and vulgarity and were reported.Thank you to the VERY FEW who didn't take this opportunity to has an insult fest. I reported all the ones who thought it best to throw insults instead of at least trying to help.Just to let you all know a little more about me and my area. I grew up in a hands on world. All the dogs I grew up with were birthed at home with little to no vet intervention. I haven't had a problem like this before. I'm not an experienced breeder by a long shot. But growing up, I witnessed and helped about 20 or more births. Alot were mine or my family's dogs and some were friend's. I don't know how your vets are, but around here. If you really can't afford they WILL help you as much as they can over the phone. People aren't greedy here. They help anyone who needs it and don't grab at you for money. But when it comes time to pay they are a business. The only payment arrangements are credit cards and I don't have good enough credit for that. moreResolved Question: Where is a RELIABLE place to have a Kiev 60 TTL camera revamped?
I have a Kiev 60 TTL camera that I bought from a friend. It suffers from the usual Kiev problems - inaccurate at high shutter speeds, etc. I would like to get it upgraded but am not sure who does this reliably. It should cost about $270 to do this. One of the places that used to advertise this was a scam so I am wondering who does this and is a LEGITIMATE business? I'm also looking for the 30mm lens for this beastie. I have the 80mm f2.8 lens and the 65mm f3.5 lens. I like the results from the 65mm f3.5 a lot - this gives surprisingly good results. Kiev cameras are notorious for their lack of quality control but with the upgrade I think it would be just fine so I'm checking into getting this done. Thanks!!!This is NOT a CLA - they install a cloth shutter and make the shutter speeds accurate all the way up to 1/1000th of a second. This is an upgrade to the camera and NOT just an adjustment - I guess I needed to make that clearer - sorry about any confusion! Thanks Robert W - again!!! This same lens is available from Kiev USA for $375. As to putting lipstick on a pig you are probably right but there is a one year warrantee on it with the upgrade ($260) and I want to do this - whether it makes sense or not. As is this camera needs a CLA at minimum and I think that $260 to upgrade it is relatively cheap compared to some other cameras so what the heck? moreResolved Question: How can I test if an algorithmic application is scalable before deployment?
I've thought of a new advertising network concept which is pretty unique and original when compared to everything that's currently available. The thing is, the concept is algorithmic and while I can imagine it working well with 10-20 customers, it's almost impossible to see if the concept would work with 1000's of customers. The way the network will work, it's likely to form trends when more people use it and I have no way of knowing if these trends will be good or bad for the concept. Basically, to sum up, I need to know if there's any way to find out if an algorithm is scalable before it is created. To bring this concept into a beta phase would cost a lot of money in development and if the concept isn't scalable then this would be wasted money so I'm looking for ways to look ahead. Maybe use some sort of computer generated model first... is this possible? Also any advice you can give would be great. moreVoting Question: how to advertise on google?
A friend of mine has a small roofing company, and needs to advertise on google. For example when I type my city and roofing a map with a list of roofers comes up on the top. Here is a breakdown of me and my business partners situation -We own and investment property that will be rented out to college students in the fall -The property is located in NY -We live in NJ -The house is currently under our personal names -We want to create an LLC, but is there an advantage/disadvantage to basing the LLC out of NJ or NY? I don't want to make this any more complicated or costly than it needs to be. I'm aware that in NY, when creating and LLC, comes advertising costs. Will I be making this process harder by creating an LLC in NJ for a property in NY? Any help on this is greatly appreciated! I have a small business, a Metaphysical Gift Shop and almost no advertising budget. I have place adds in the local Newspaper and on the local radio station with virtually no response and a fairly high cost. Word of mout has been my best advertising to date, but I really need to draw more business in. Any suggestions?I should have stated that it is a store front business and not an online shop. I do no internet sales at all. There is a website for the business and I am listed in several online lists for 'local Metaphysical/New Age stores' as well as being listed on many sites as just a 'Gift Shop'. I participate in all the events planned by local businesses and have tried Google services. None of that has payed off in the slightest. Word of mouth has been by far my best advertising, but that is not bringing in enough people. My prices are very low compared to any other source and adding a further discount will just mean I bring in even less since most of my customers are already her because someone told them about the store and they are all already telling their friends and family in turn. The grocery store advertised the bottle as "Langers Cranberry 100% Juice" so I placed an order with my delivery thinking there is no sugar or anything else added. When the bottle arrived, the actual wording on the bottle is "Cranberry Plus 100% Juice." Then in small print on the bottom it says "Cranberry flavored juice naturally sweetened with one other juice from concentrate with added ingredients". Ingredients must be listed in order of which is included the most. The first ingredient on this is apple juice from concentrate, then cranberry and a bunch of other stuff. The color is red like cranberry juice, there is only a picture of cranberries on the label on the cover (no apples). The taste? If I had to take a blind folded taste to guess, it tastes 100% like apple juice. Is anyone at fault here? Is the grocery store at fault for posting a small blurred picture of the front of the bottle where you can't read the small print and not stating anything about apples in the description? Is Langers atr fault for labeling it as 100% cranberry juice when it's basically apple juice with a touch of cranberry to give it the red color and use it as the name of the juice? I was advised to purchase cranberry without apple juice or other products and not from concentrate for my urinary tract infection and feel ripped off, deceived and mislead (Ocean Spray cranberry juice not from concentrate without apple also costs $4.99 and regular apple juice which I consider this costs $1.99. I would've purchased Ocean Spray had I known they were tricking me). moreResolved Question: I have been un-employed for 11 months?
I was working in the insurance industry and have 5 years accounting experience. I really don't know why I can't find a job with my experience I have gained over the years. I am 26 and have applied for about 650 jobs online since being out of work. I know there is alot of competition out there but I must be doing something wrong. I recently attended a job seminar which was very helpful which was funded through the job centre. I have since updated my CV, joined ‘linkedin’ as the guy said a lot of companies are not going through job agencies anymore and are advertising jobs through social networking sites to reduce costs although I am finding this really tough as I can’t seem to find a job which matches my level of experience. Apart from applying for jobs online, I have emailed about 250-300 companies directly, emailed old clients I use to work with and have emailed former work colleagues/managers but unfortunately nothing turned up. I have not done any studies or anything just yet as I am waiting to start work and then take my accountancy studies once I have joined a company as they can fund that for you. I think also the longer I am out of work the harder I am going to find it especially as employers don’t like when people have huge gaps on their CV. Every day apart from the weekend is like Groundhog Day for me. Wake up late, look for work on about 10 different job sites, chase job agencies, watch TV, have dinner, go gym, check Facebook then play Playstation 3 until the early hours. I use to go travelling quite a bit and would like to do some more once I start earning some money so that is another out of many other reasons why I would like to get back into work. I am so eager to get back into work its unreal. My parents just say keep going and something will turn up and im sure something will, im not going to give up as I know its just a matter of time. If you have any opinions, find yourself in a similar situation or would like to give me any advice then please share your thoughts, thanks. moreResolved Question: Is there a way allowing individual store in a mall to have eye-catching advertising with a low cost?

I need help to find out what I need in order for my husband's website to be up and running. He has gotten quotes of around 5K but we do not have that much to invest upfront. He coaches high school sports and wants to have a site for students to be seen by college recruiters and we have come up with the following requirements. Least cost, with best return. moreVoting Question: why are dentists so expensive?
Yeah..I've heard that they are expensive because they spent all this money on schooling and the such...BUT SO WHAT?!?! I, myself, have 3 degrees, including 2 Masters Degrees, one in Engineering and the other in Business. And 2 of my degrees were from a top of the top schools in America. I got these about 30 years ago. But because my major was primarily engineering, I was laid off when I turned 50, because of all those cheaper than cheap workers from India. In other words, outsourcing did me in. Did you ever hear of dentists being outsourced? Also, how much ADVERTISING do you see dentists do regarding what they charge for different procedures. When you buy something, the price is usually advertised...but not with dentists. They are free to charge what they want with much less competion than other fields...no outsourcing competition and no advertising competition. There are many other fields that require lots of expensive college...not only dentistry, so that is a lame reason. Where I live, a crown costs about $1100 !!! About 15 years ago it was about $400-$500. What kind of inflation rate is that? In that time, the so called dental insurance I have went from paying $1200 a year to $1300 a year. Whoopy ding. So..why does everyone put up with these ridiculous prices? I think we will be seeing more baby boomers emigrating to more affordable countries, if it isn't already happening. moreResolved Question: How do I spot a car sales scam?
Have seen car advertised on secure website. Seemed like a good deal, seller based in London so sent email requesting further information. They replied advising they lived in Portugal but if we were interested in buying the car then they will pay the shipping costs. Have done reg check and vehicle is not reported as stolen or written off. Wouldn't send any payment until car in my possession anyway but alarm bells are ringing for me. Has anyone come across anything similar? moreResolved Question: I'm a musician and I would like ways to help promote my videos on Youtube please and thank you :)?
Ok Hi! I am a musician and I made this video on YouTube...well let's be honest; a kick A$$ video and I feel like I need to do more to get it out there. Yes, I know...I posted it a few days ago and am definitely impatient. BUT, this is not my first rodeo. I've used Facebook to promote my videos as well as commenting on the highest traffic videos with the most views trying to promote my channel for a while now. Except this time I feel like this video is really good and it deserves some attention. I wrote a song, and recorded myself playing each part and wanted to put it on YouTube. So I amassed a compilation of Time Lapse videos (the best on YouTube) and created a viewing element to keep the viewer interested and to stimulate some sort an audio-visual response. I will provide a link so you can judge my video and either encourage me (I would appreciate that) or just tell me plain and simple "you suck" (well, I guess I would appreciate the over-the-top honesty). Also, when I comment on other videos saying, "check out my band! Thank you!" I feel like a total dick for spamming and I don't particularly enjoy this act. So basically I am asking (if you read to this point, kudos), can anyone help me brainstorm ways to promote my band on YouTube or Facebook? I also don't have pockets lined with cash if you know what I mean. So basically nothing that cost money. I am willing to pay in time and effort and sweat but our band fund has been low for a while. I hope I kept you moderately entertained while you read this. Oh, and pardon my English idioms, I'm from France :) Thanks ahead of time for the advice. Also if you for some strange reason would want to subscribe to me on YouTube/friend request me that'd be wonderfully kind of you. And if for some even more crazy reason an incredibly nice person would want to actually help me advertise (as in making the link to my video your Facebook status or showing the video to your friends) I would definitely correct anyone who say that there are no more nice people in this world. LINK CHANNEL (has the vid): http://www.youtube.com/user/TheFrancsBand LINK TO JUST VID: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z7kj-rflXvE Oh and Youtube made the quality of the song sound weird...is there a way to fix that? moreVoting Question: need some help with these health questions?

About BlueServo The Texas Border Sheriff's Coalition (TBSC) has joined BlueServoSM in a public-private partnership to deploy the Virtual Community Watch, an innovative real-time surveillance program designed to empower the public to proactively participate in fighting border crime. The TBSC BlueServoSM Virtual Community WatchSM is a FREE service consisting of a network of cameras and sensors along the Texas-Mexico border. This network feeds live streaming video FREE-OF-CHARGE to the user's computer, which they can access by creating a FREE account at www.BlueServo.net. Users will log in to the BlueServoSM website and directly monitor suspicious criminal activity along the border via this virtual fenceSM. Citizens can sign up as Virtual Texas DeputiesSM to participate in border surveillance through this social network. Virtual Texas DeputiesSM from around the country will monitor the streaming video from these cameras 24/7 and report any suspicious activities directly to the Border Sheriffs via email. All emails regarding suspicious activity will be submitted anonymously. The Public, acting as Virtual Texas DeputiesSM, is limited to reporting suspicious activities via email. Local county Sheriffs will respond to these reports, conduct all investigations, and take appropriate actions. This service will provide millions of dollars in benefits to local border Sheriffs, with the public acting as additional pairs of eyes for Deputies on the ground. This extra surveillance will allow the public to directly participate in reducing crime and improving their communities. It is a well-established fact that citizen involvement in community watch programs such as this one reduces crime. Another facet of this program is the ability of the public to connect their own cameras to www.BlueServo.net to create local Virtual Neighborhood WatchesSM in order to protect their own homes, neighborhoods, and families from criminal acts. These Virtual Neighborhood WatchesSM can, in turn, be connected to form additional Virtual Community WatchesSM. Membership on www.BlueServo.net site is free and open to anyone by signing up and obtaining a User Log-In. Because www.BlueServo.net is an internet social network, in the future, BlueServoSM anticipates that high volume of traffic to its website will generate advertising revenue to defray the operations cost of the Virtual Community WatchSM to the Texas Border Sheriff's Coalition. I sent a demo to them for voice-over work. A gentleman from there called me and told me in no uncertain terms he wants to sign me. Then he advised me it would cost $225.00 to put me on something called "Breakdown Express" which he said would advertise my talent for possible clients for one year. A car in a supermarket car park was advertised for sale. I contacted the seller and arranged to meet next day to test drive the car. I met her near her place of work. The traffic was congested at the time so I wasn't able to give it a good run or listen out for anything suspect. She offered to hand over the car there and then but I said I needed to get the money, transfer the insurance etc first. I paid a deposit and collected the car the following day from her home address. As she had owned the car for only a couple of months she was awaiting the log book from DVLA. However, she gave me a letter from DVLA to confirm it was in the process of being issued. The car had got 10 months MOT. Next day I took it to a garage for a safety check. I was told it needed a whole new exhaust system, the current one is leaking fumes and illegal, and that the clutch is on its way out. To have the car repaired would cost more than I paid for it. I rang Trading Standards who advised me to take the matter to the small claims court. Is there anything I can do now to recover my money? She told me the car was like new but only verbally so I have no proof. My instincts told me there was something wrong from the start, but thinking I was being paranoid, went ahead with it. As far as DVLA know, she is still the registered keeper. Is she still responsible for the vehicle even though it is in my possession? Do I have a leg to stand on? We have a 6 month lease and want to break it four months early to move on base. I went to the lease office and they said I had to pay four months of the rent concession plus 2 months rent. They are telling me that the rent concession is a move in special he got. He didn't get a move in special, he was told he was getting $74.00 off for being in the military. They told me that military discount is $24.00 and the other $50.00 is the move in special (which is what we have to pay times four). In my lease rent concession is: tenant has received a rent concession with a value of $74/month. This amount shall be due immediately as additional rent if tenant fails to perform all of the terms and conditions. In another section of my lease it says refund conditions : the parties agree that owner would suffer damages if tenant fails to satisfy the entire term of this lease and that the exact amount of owner's damages including future cost of advertising, showing the apt, etc are difficult to predict. Therefore, the parties agree that owner shall be entitled to a fee of $125.00. In addition to any other damages that owner may have if tenant fails to satisfy the complete term of this lease. All rents must be paid in full and tenant must leave the apt in clean and undamaged condition. A move out inspection will not be done until possession of the apt is restored to owner. They want to charge me over $2,000 dollars to move out early. Also in the 2.5 months I have been here the dryer ruined a blanket before they told us blankets cannot be done in the unit provided even if it fits. Can anyone clean this up for me or give advise? I recently saw a craigslist ad for an audi but the person claims that he is in Alaska and can only ship the car to me. Here's what he said: Hi, We are in training and unfortunately we are not allowed phone calls. I will have the car shipped from Alaska by an US Air Force cargo plane so there won't be any additional shipping costs. Also I will arrange for a truck to transport the car to your home address or, if you like, you can pick it up from the nearest airport in your area. The shipping will take 3-5 days, depending on your location.Shipping will be door to door,to your home address, somebody must be home when the car arrives to sign for the reception. The car will arrive with all the papers and documents required for registration and the keys. The clear title and the bill of sale will be already signed by me. The payment will be done through eBay.You will send the money to eBay and as soon as the payment is confirmed they will notify me to proceed with the shipping. I will ship the car, you will receive it and you will have 7 days for inspection, both the car and the paperwork and the option to accept or reject the car. The inspection time period will begin as soon as you sign for receiving the car at your requested address.During all this time eBay will hold the money into a trust account. So, this is not a blind transaction, you can see the car before decided to buy it.If you are satisfied with the car and decide to keep it you inform eBay about this and they will release the money to me. If the car is not as advertised and decide not to keep it eBay will refund you the money, no questions asked, and shipping back the car will be my concern. I think this is more than fair for the both of us.Please take into consideration that I will get paid only after you receive the car and make sure everything is as agreed. If you agree with these terms and you have the money, send me your full name and the address where you want the car to be delivered to and I will initiate the transaction with eBay. You will receive all the transaction details from them.I will appreciate an answer as soon as possible. Thank you! MSgt. Okay so here is my problem, I was in the process of purchasing a new car and before doing so did my homework for about a month on the car I wanted, competitive pricing, negotiating fees and from the dealer actual cost and came across info on rebates provided by the manufacturer to lower the price of cars that weren't moving so good. I found the car I was looking for advertised online for 21,000.00 now it had a rebate on it of 2250.00 After bringing the advertisement in to the dealer they tried to sell me the car for a higher price, I played the game and then at the end pulled out the online printout which showed the car being sold and advertised for 21,000.00 they didn't know what to say so the salesman says let me check with my mgr. He comes back says they will honor the price and then had me initial off on the sheet next to the price as well as a reduced destination fee but I didn't initial on the packaged fee they had listed as I still had questions - so here goes... When I received my buyer purchase order I noticed that next to the model of the car they had it listed as costing 24,999.00 a few lines under that they had the ny state sales tax calculated from the 24,999.00 totaling 2218.6 okay so I'll stop here (There was alot of other crap listed after) but my concern is this when I questioned this they said the price had the rebate included in it when they calculated the sales tax.......? Now first of all I don't know how they came up with 24999.00 being the price of the car when the salesman and I negotiated at a firm 21,000.00 but from information that I pulled it says the rebate is not to be included in the final price of the "car", that they should of calculated the sales tax against the final price we agreed upon and then deduct the rebate from that price. Is this true I've gotten this from many resources even contacted the NYS Dept of Tax and Finance and they agreed but I just wanted to throw this out and see what other thoughts were out there... thanks! more
