Resolved Question: How many CC credits do you need to be considered a transfer student?
I am going to community college to start my college degree since I didn't do well in high school. How many credits do I need to be considered a transfer student. I want to transfer to either Cal State East Bay or San Francisco State University. I would also like to major in Advertising or Public Relations. Thanks :) moreResolved Question: How do I set up a tour company in San Francisco?
I have a friend with a history degree who very much wants to start up a historical tour through San Francisco where we both live. We were thinking something that involved a bus that drove around the city as he delivered the tour since most people don't like to pay to walk. I was wondering what sort of hoops we have to jump through to get that set up. He already has a class to license but is there an additional license he would need to get or does he need to register his company before he can be driving groups of people around town? Also any advice on how to sell tickets, advertise the tour, etc? moreResolved Question: New business or my current well-paying job with a bright future?
Little Bio about myself: I am 28yrs old guy living in San Francisco. During my first year at undergrad school, I found out that I was interested in Multimedia and Design. I took it up as a hobby and continued with my degree and finally graduated with a computer science diploma after four years. But by that time, I had unconsciously made-up my mind that I wanted to work in visual effects industry for Hollywood movies (It sounded impossible to me because I was sitting in a third world country thousand of miles away with no clue about the Effects business). But I guess my motivation paid off and a year later I moved to US to study at a design college for MFA in visual effects and computer graphics. I had to work really hard for a year to develop a design portfolio to get into this school. But quite soon I found out that I am not the smartest kid among a huge group of people at my school, all of them wanted exactly the same thing - to get into the five best effects companies in the world. After I graduated, I started applying to these companies with no money and no contacts. From here onwards I left it completely on luck and to some extent God. So it happened, I ended up getting a job at a company that seemed impossible to get into and only a handful fresh graduates make it there. I am talking about a very famous vfx company which probably shaped american pop culture through some of its iconic movie characters from 80's and 90's. I needed a visa and money to move to san francisco, and I still feel lost at words sometimes how everything fell into place because that's what I wanted and someone somewhere was listening. So here I was two and half years after I decided to work for 'hollywood' movies actually 'doing' it. Now coming back to my question. Although I absolutely love my job and literally everything about it (I have zero complaints) but for the past month or so, I have started to feel this emptiness growing inside me. I won't lie if I say money is a factor in this whole saga, but I have started to feel that I need to do something bigger. Just the thought of starting my own business makes me smile. Some people might argue that's a tough thing and very few people succeed but basing on my previous experience, I think everything is possible. Motivation, determination and hardwork is the key. And offcourse being a little smart about decision you take in life (which some people call calculated risks) I usually meet a lot of successful people at my company as well as guests who come to speak here. People who have won oscars/baftas/and grammys, contributed something to this world and made a name for themselves. It makes me even more eager about doing something for myself but at the same time I feel that my thoughts are all over the place. I only have about roughly two years of experience here, but since I am 28 already - I want to do something before I turn thirty. That gives me only two years. I don't want to leave my job for few years (until I see something is shaping up) but this idea (of doing something for me) is very contagious as Nolan puts it in inception :). I am really passionate about movies and CG. And I also have really keen interest in brands and advertising. But, I am having a hard time to come up with an idea that converges all of my interests at a single place. This whole dream that I am dreaming is very new to me, so may be I need some more time to think about it.. so there you have it, i dont know if it's a question that I am asking here, I am probably just thinking loud. But what would you do in this scenario. You think I am being bit unreasonable for thinking about start-up so soon, when I am practically not even a US citizen yet. Do you have any ideas I can brainstorm with. I am almost convinced america is a land to make your dreams come true - and I want to give it a try. Thanks for any input! moreResolved Question: Goal for High School Smoking Is Unmet?
The nation has failed to reach its 2010 health goal of reducing high school smoking to 16 percent, federal officials said Thursday in a report calling for a resurgence of antismoking advertising to counter the tobacco industry’s $12 billion marketing campaign. “People are getting the image that it’s cool to use nicotine as a drug,” Terry F. Pechacek of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention said in an interview. “We need to bring back our voice, our antismoking mass media campaign.” The popularity of hookah bars and smokeless nicotine products, Mr. Pechacek said, are the modern equivalent of the banned Joe Camel cartoon in their appeal to youths. And some experts worry that the new health campaign against obesity — spearheaded by Michelle Obama from the White House — may be hampering donations to antitobacco campaigns as public health issues shift in emphasis and compete for funds. “Over all, the antismoking countermessage has been lost,” Mr. Pechacek said as the C.D.C. released its biannual survey of more than 10,000 high school students, showing 19.5 percent of them are smokers. High school smoking rates dipped significantly to 21.9 percent in 2003, from 34.8 percent in 1995, then progress stalled, he said. One-third of high school smokers are expected to die prematurely of tobacco-related disease, said Mr. Pechacek, the associate director for science in the agency’s Office on Smoking and Health. With about four million students graduating from high school each year, the difference between the current rate and the “Healthy People 2010” goal set by the government 10 years ago amounts to an additional 140,000 student smokers and 46,000 premature deaths for each high school class nationally. Separately, a New England Journal of Medicine commentary on Wednesday was titled “Don’t Forget Tobacco.” “By assuming that the tobacco war has been won, we risk consigning millions of Americans to premature death,” Dr. Steven A. Schroeder, a professor of medicine at the University of California, San Francisco, and Kenneth E. Warner, dean of the School of Public Health at the University of Michigan, wrote in the article. “At a time when all eyes are focused on health care reform, escalating medical costs and childhood obesity, cigarette smoking remains by far the most common cause of preventable death and disability in the United States,” they added. “The prevalence of smoking in the United States hovers at 20 percent, more than eight million people are sick or disabled as a result of tobacco use, and smoking kills 450,000 Americans annually.” Because of a lagging antismoking campaign, they said the total smoking rate in the nation was expected to decline only to 16 percent by 2020, and to stabilize at 13.5 percent after midcentury unless more was done to stop it. Mr. Warner said financing for antismoking promotions had been lost from the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, which has turned more toward childhood obesity, and the American Legacy Foundation, an antitobacco group created in the 1998 master settlement agreement between states and the tobacco industry. Some public health experts say they are concerned that obesity campaigns have attracted more money and attention recently than programs against tobacco. And Mrs. Obama’s national campaign against childhood obesity is occurring at a time when President Obama has said he has found it difficult to quit smoking. “I find it ironic, but I think it also points out the challenge, the addiction that smokers are faced with,” Mr. Warner said. “Those are the two pre-eminent public health issues of the day. What I regret is when we start posing obesity versus tobacco, rather than saying those issues are so important to public health, both of them, that they need to be elevated above the fray.” ( how you think thos problem should be solved or should be met?) moreResolved Question: I want facebook baned , do you agree?
I want facebook band, do you agree? Facebook needs to be band. POLICE want Facebook to ban under-18s from setting up tribute websites after launching the first prosecution of its kind of a Brisbane man accused of posting pornography on online memorials to murdered children. Disability pensioner Bradley Paul Hampson, 29, faces up to 10 years' jail if convicted of offences relating to the defacement of Facebook memorials for Trinity Bates, 8, and Elliot Fletcher, 12, who died in separate incidents in Queensland earlier this year. The Australian Federal Police are now negotiating with the social networking giant to prevent future acts of cyber-vandalism by so-called internet "trolls", who post offensive material to provoke outrage. Detective Superintendent Peter Crawford, of the Child Safety and Sexual Crimes Group of Queensland police, said adults should be required to act as administrators of memorials so they could be held liable for monitoring content. The AFP has, in an effort to improve accountability, raised with Facebook the possibility of banning under-18s from setting up such sites. Start of sidebar. Skip to end of sidebar. .End of sidebar. Return to start of sidebar. Superintendent Crawford said website administrators - and not just Facebook - needed to act quickly to remove offensive material. "I think the trolling issue will continue to be a problem in the future," he said. "We are really keen to see people who administer those sites take responsibility to ensure that material posted is of an appropriate standard." Superintendent Crawford revealed that Queensland police had been forced to liaise with Facebook executives in San Francisco. While the organisation has a well-staffed advertising office in Australia, its local representatives insist they are not responsible for content. "We have to make inquiries overseas for all our Facebook inquiries," he said. Superintendent Crawford said the fact that children and teenagers sometimes set up tribute pages "presents some problems". "These are the issues we're endeavouring to discuss with Facebook," he said. "I would rather be using (police) resources to target actual sexual offences that are being committed today, than chasing down trolls." Mr Hampson, 29, of Tarragindi, was remanded in custody after appearing in Brisbane Magistrates Court yesterday on five charges relating to possessing and distributing child exploitation material. Magistrate Leanne O'Shea refused bail. The police prosecutor, Sergeant Fiona Pedersen, told the court that police had raided Mr Hampson's home early yesterday and found pornographic images on his computer. "He would appear to have some morbid fascination with deceased children and has expressed fantasies in those regards," she said. Mr Hampson's legal aid lawyer, Katia Vandenbroucke, told the court her client had been diagnosed with autism. Facebook said yesterday it had co-operated fully with the police. 5 minutes ago - 4 days left to answer. moreResolved Question: What are the big advertising & Design firms in California?

I grew up in the San Francisco Bay Area; every fall, the towns and cities in the Northern counties of Marin and Sonoma would flood with migrant workers, many from Mexico, drawn by the (relatively) high wages offered to them to work in the walnut, grape, and strawberry fields. We hear an awful lot of talk about targeting these poor workers who come for higher wages, of which "stealing jobs" is the last thing on their minds. yet we never EVER hear about these wineries, these fields, these orchards, that do more to bring illegal immigrants here than anything. alot of Mexican towns have service centers where these jobs are advertised by american companies, albeit informally. so can you really blame the migrants? why the hell aren't these people in charge getting the brunt of the axe? or is it because they're mostly white?@Ou812: that's not even close to the same thing. not a little bit. moreResolved Question: People good with grammar and writing help with this article full of mistakes?

The Super Bowl has been the championship game of the National Football League (NFL), the premier association of professional American football, since 1967. In most years, the Super Bowl is the most-watched American television broadcast. Many popular singers and musicians have performed during the event’s pre-game and halftime ceremonies. The day on which the Super Bowl is played is now considered a de facto American national holiday,[1][2][3] called Super Bowl Sunday. Super Bowl Sunday is the second-largest day for U.S. food consumption, after Thanksgiving Day.[4] Exclusive television broadcast rights for the Super Bowl rotate each year among three of the four major American television networks: CBS, Fox, and NBC. Because of its high viewership, commercial airtime for the Super Bowl broadcast is the most expensive of the year. Due to the high cost of investing in advertising on the Super Bowl, companies regularly develop their most expensive advertisements for this broadcast. As a result, watching and discussing the broadcast’s commercials has become a significant aspect of the event. The Super Bowl was first played on January 15, 1967, as part of a merger agreement between the NFL and a rival league, the American Football League (AFL). It was agreed that the two leagues’ champion teams would play in an AFL–NFL World Championship Game, until the merger was consummated. After the merger of the two leagues in 1970, each league became a "conference", and the game was played between conference champions. Lamar Hunt, former owner of the Kansas City Chiefs and founding member of the American Football League, coined the name Super Bowl after watching his children playing with a Super Ball. The Super Bowl uses Roman numerals to identify each game, rather than the year in which it is held. Super Bowl I was played in 1967 to determine the championship of the regular season played in 1966, and Super Bowl XLIV, on February 7, 2010, will be played to determine the champion of the 2009 regular season. The Pittsburgh Steelers have won six Super Bowls, while the Dallas Cowboys and San Francisco 49ers have each won five. Seventeen other NFL franchises have won at least one Super Bowl. Only four active NFL franchises have not appeared in the Super Bowl. They are the Detroit Lions, Cleveland Browns, Jacksonville Jaguars, and Houston Texans. The Lions are the only NFC team yet to play in one, the other three are in the AFC. The Browns and Lions have both won NFL championships prior to the Super Bowl era, while the Jaguars (who joined the NFL in 1995) and Texans (2002) joined the league after the Super Bowl era began. moreVoting Question: What is the Dependent and Independent Variables? imeem was a social media service where users interacted with each other by streaming, uploading and sharing music and music videos. However, it has since been shut down now that MySpace has acquired the service. The company was founded in 2003 by Dalton Caldwell (ex-VA Linux) and Jan Jannink (formerly of Napster), and many of its core engineering team came from the original Napster file-sharing service[1]. The company takes its name from “meme,” a term coined by author Richard Dawkins to describe the spread of ideas and cultural phenomena. imeem helped pioneer the free, advertising-supported music model for online music, permitting consumers to legally upload, stream and share music and music playlists for free with the costs supported by advertising. In 2007, imeem became the first-ever online music site to secure licenses from all 4 U.S. major music labels to offer their music catalogues for free streaming and sharing on the web.[2] The company also created the web’s first embeddable music and video playlists. People could use imeem’s widgets to embed songs and playlists from imeem virtually anywhere on the web, including on their MySpace and Facebook profiles or on their personal blogs. imeem was based in San Francisco’s South of Market district, with additional offices in New York and Los Angeles. The company’s investors included Morgenthaler Ventures and Warner Music Group. On December 8, 2009, it was bought out by MySpace Music, and all its content was removed. moreResolved Question: Which one of these stimulus projects do you think created jobs and helped stabilize the economy?

Parents cannot remove their children’s names from a Pentagon database that includes highly personal information used to attract military recruits, the Vermont Guardian has learned. The Pentagon has spent more than $70.5 million on market research, national advertising, website development, and management of the Joint Advertising Market Research and Studies (JAMRS) database — a storehouse of questionable legality that includes the names and personal details of more than 30 million U.S. children and young people between the ages of 16 and 23. The database is separate from information collected from schools that receive federal education money. The No Child Left Behind Act requires schools to report the names, addresses, and phone numbers of secondary school students to recruiters, but the law also specifies that parents or guardians may write a letter to the school asking that their children’s names not be released. However, many parents have reported being surprised that their children are contacted anyway, according to a San Francisco-based coalition called Leave My Child Alone (LMCA). “We hear from a lot of parents who have often felt quite isolated about it all and haven’t been aware that this is happening all over the country,” said the group’s spokeswoman, Felicity Crush. Parents must contact the Pentagon directly to ask that their children’s information not be released to recruiters, but the data is not removed from the JAMRS database, according to Lt. Col. Ellen Krenke, a Pentagon spokeswoman. Instead, the information is moved to a suppression file, where it is continuously updated with new data from private and government sources and still made available to recruiters, Krenke said. It’s necessary to keep the information in the suppression file so the Pentagon can make sure it’s not being released, she said. Krenke said the database is compiled using information from state motor vehicles departments, the Selective Service, and data-mining firms that collect and organize information from private companies. In addition to names, addresses, Social Security numbers, and phone numbers, the database may include cell phone numbers, e-mail addresses, grade-point averages, ethnicity, and subjects of interest. She said the Pentagon spends about $500,000 annually to purchase the data from private companies, and has paid more than $70 million since 2002 to Mullen Advertising — a Massachusetts firm whose clients include General Motors, Hooked on Phonics, XM Satellite Radio, and 3Com — to target recruiters’ messages toward teens and young adults. The Boston Business Journal reported in October that the Pentagon had spent a total of $206 million on the JAMRS program to date, and could spend another $137 million over the next two years. The story is continued in this link: http://www.commondreams.org/headlines06/0117-12.htmMikegolf- is this program not in violation of the privacy act? moreResolved Question: What are the best art schools in USA, and California?

CAIR Spent $160,000 to Silence Savage New book Reveals Memos Behind Campaign to Run Radio Star Off the Air Posted: October 14, 2009 9:00 am Eastern By Art Moore © 2009 WorldNetDaily (San Francisco Chronicle) Michael Savage An explosive new book based on a daring six-month undercover operation exposing the subversive agenda of the Council on American-Islamic Relations reveals the Muslim group spent $160,000 in an unsuccessful effort to run top-rated nationally syndicated radio host Michael Savage off the air. Internal CAIR documents uncovered in "Muslim Mafia: Inside the Secret Underworld That's Conspiring to Islamize America" show that despite its high cost and the continued success of Savage's show, CAIR Executive Director Nihad Awad believed the campaign was "worth every penny," because, he says, the radio star lost at least $1 million in advertising . Authors P. David Gaubatz and Paul Sperry recount how CAIR ran out of money before it could crack Savage's most loyal sponsors. As WND reported, Savage sued CAIR in December 2007, two months after the Muslim lobby group began urging "people of all faiths" to contact Savage's advertisers to protest "anti-Muslim bigotry" on the air. CAIR cited Savage calling the Quran "a throwback document" and "a book of hate" and demanding CAIR be thrown out of the country for promulgating it. Savage's copyright infringement and RICO lawsuit alleged CAIR illegally published singled-out quotes and audio excerpts from the show regarding Islam, misappropriated his words and used the clips for its own fundraising purposes, damaging the value of his copyrighted material. Judge Susan Illston of the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California dismissed the case, determining CAIR had a legal right to use excerpts of a public broadcast for purposes of comment and criticism. But Illston ruled in Savage's favor when CAIR attempted to extract attorneys fees. Savage declared Illston's November 2008 decision a "huge victory for me, personally, but also for the rest of America who is afraid of this lawsuit-happy group of intimidators." In their new book, Gaubatz, a counter-terrorism investigator and former federal agent with vast experience in the Middle East, and Sperry, a veteran reporter on the war on terror and author of "Infiltration," document CAIR's role as a U.S. front for the Muslim Brotherhood's plan to transform America into an Islamic nation under the authority of the Quran. In a chapter titled "Blackmailing Corporate America," the authors show how CAIR tries to intimidate major corporations and media figures, such as Savage. An internal memo – one of thousands of pages extracted by Gaubatz's son Chris, who posed as a Muslim convert and became a CAIR intern for six months – showed CAIR considered broadening its campaign against Savage. The effort against the talk-radio star included formation of a nonprofit called Hate Hurts America, which published on its website lists of advertisers along with contact information. A CAIR staffer wrote in an internal memo that the "idea behind Hate Hurts America is great and has the potential to go far. However, I feel that if you want to continue with HHA and not lose momentum, the campaign needs to expand beyond Michael Savage to other bigoted talk show hosts." The report noted that it's much easier to get the attention of large corporations rather than small firms or franchises, because large corporations like AT&T have a reputation at stake and "don't want to be associated with anything that might seem controversial." The CAIR memo said, however, companies that are endorsed or directly promoted by Savage on the air, such as Life Lock or Swiss America, are "an absolute no" for targeting. "They are loyal to Savage and there is a chance they might sue," the memo said. False figure As WND reported, the British government apparently seized on campaigns against Savage by CAIR and others when it used his name to provide "balance" to a "least wanted list" dominated by Muslim extremists. Savage's ban from entry to the U.K. prompted an invitation from the Cambridge Union to debate political correctness via a video link, but the society canceled his appearance, scheduled for tomorrow, citing "legal issues" among other problems. The chapter in "Muslim Mafia" covering Savage's ordeal with CAIR also shows how the Islamic group has tried to intimidate Hollywood and companies such as Nike, Bank of America and US Airways by citing a false figure of 7 million American Muslims who are ready and willing to boycott their services. Despite widespread use of the figure in media, propagated by CAIR and others, the Pew Research Center recently estimated the American-Muslim population to be only about 2.35 million. The book also reveals CAIR recently has teamed up with the American Civil Liberties Union to consolidate resources onmc93433 is another coward that will not allow a direct response so here it is in the clear: mc93433 I'm SO grateful that you have such keen wit and great analytical skills to help straighten me out. I am looking for a vendor of custom license plate frames for motorcycles. We have a font that is trademarked and need it on the frames so we don't want to use a online vendor (even though I've found some good ones) because we need to ensure the font is not duplicated for any other use aside from ours. Anyways does anyone in the Northern California area, preferably near the Bay area know of anyone that does plate frames? Saw one pop up at the mall back in the day but don't know of anything free standing that will be around for more then just Christmas. Also, not lookin for the cheap ones that are just a plastic piece that's cut then glued to the frame, I want the good one piece ones. Need someone that can do Black and Chrome frames. This is for a group of guys here in the area, not for advertising so need a company that doesn't have a huge quantity requirement for orders. moreResolved Question: AOL Sued I need answer?

(using this info bellow could you write an essay for me?) Barry McGee (born 1966 in San Francisco, California) is a painter and graffiti artist. He is also known by monikers such as Ray Fong, Twist and further variations of Twist, such as Twister, Twisty, Twisto and others. McGee graduated from El Camino High School in South San Francisco, California. He later graduated from the San Francisco Art Institute in 1991 with a concentration in painting and printmaking. McGee rose out of the Mission School art movement and graffiti boom in the San Francisco Bay Area during the early nineties. His work draws heavily from a pessimistic view of the urban experience, which he describes as, "urban ills, overstimulations, frustrations, addictions & trying to maintain a level head under the constant bombardment of advertising". McGee's paintings are very iconic, with central figures dominating abstracted backgrounds of drips, patterns and color fields. He has also painted portraits of street characters on their own empty bottles of liquor, painted flattened spray cans picked up at train yards and painted wrecked vehicles for art shows. McGee has had numerous shows in many kinds of galleries and was also an artist in residence at inner-city McClymonds High School in Oakland, California in the early 1990s. He was married to the artist Margaret Kilgallen, who died of cancer in 2001. The couple has a daughter named Asha. The market value of his work rose considerably after 2001 as a result of his being included in the Venice Biennale and other major exhibitions. As a result, much of his San Francisco street art has been scavenged or stolen.[1][2] moreResolved Question: How can I find out if a company is legitimate and reputable?

Are these the hard workers who come here just to make a living? Do pro-illegal advocates think this is wrong and something should be done about this? __________________________________________________________ Mexican brothels coming to a neighborhood near you July 16, 2:51 PM 5 comments Illegal alien and convicted felon Emma Tlacoxolal-Perez was sentenced this week in U.S. District Court to 33 months in prison for running brothels in Chesapeake, Newport News, James City County and Williamsburg. The Mexican national was the head of a prostitution ring which employed women smuggled into this country from Mexico, and only catered to other illegal aliens. Tlaccoxablal-Perez, along with co-conspirator Felipe Vargas-Ortega, passed out business cards to advertise for the brothel known as El Nopal (The Prickly Pear). Two more alleged co-conspirators, Francisco Sanchez-Martinez and Juan Carlos Vargas-Ortega, are scheduled for trial in September. Tlacoxolal-Perez, 37, who has operated brothels in the Hampton Roads area since 2004, was actually deported in 2006, but easily found her way back across the largely unprotected border. Customers paid $30 for 15 minutes with one of the prostitutes, the ring leaders kept half of it. The Newport News location was in a suburban neighborhood and Mexican men typically went through the neighborhood at all hours, knocking on folks; doors looking for the brothel. Managing Assistant U.S. Attorney Howard J. Zlotnick told the court: “The poor people living on Eastwood Drive,” had to live with "strange men knocking on their doors looking for girls." All of those involved are illegal aliens from Mexico, El Salvador, and Ecuador. Though it may be surprising to some that houses of prostitution catering exclusively to illegal aliens have set up shop in this country’s neighborhoods, the problem has become widespread. The following is a small sample of some of those cases across the country: -In February 2009, local police and federal agents raided a brothel run by Mexican nationals in Glen Burnie, MD -In September 2008, police in Baltimore, MD shut down a Mexican brothel and arrested Carlos Silot, who ran the operation, along with two prostitutes, all were illegal aliens. Court documents show that at this particular brothel, the women would work for seven days and then sent back to North Carolina, and exchanged for new prostitutes. -In June 2007, police in San Antonio arrested a mother and her two daughters for smuggling two minors out of Mexico to use them as prostitutes. Once in the U.S., the girls ages 15 and 17, were told they would have to work as prostitutes for five years to pay off their smuggling fees of $3,000. They were threatened at gunpoint and told that if they did run away, that their families back in Mexico would be killed. Isabel Ochoa, 60, received time served. Consuelo Ochoa, 34, was sentenced to 18 months for sex-trafficking and an additional 39 months for a separate drug case. Maria Ochoa, 32, was sentenced to 12 months and one day. -In March 2007, police in Madison, TN raided a Mexican brothel in a residential area and arrested Mexican nationals Santos Perez and Jose Garcia who ran the operation, along with two Mexican prostitutes. Again, the brothel charged $30 per customer. The women were forced to have sex with dozens of men every day. A Madison Police detective told News Channel 5: "It's pretty terrible. I don't think these girls want to be there. These girls don't want to be forced to do 30 customers a day.” At the time of the raid, police told reporters that they were investigating at least 10 Mexican brothels in the Nashville area. -In January 2006, police in Charlotte, NC raided two brothels run by Mexican nationals, both were crowded with women smuggled into this country and held against their will. In addition to the dangers that come with having illegal alien men roaming around our neighborhoods in the middle of the night, in search of cheap sexual gratification, we now have large-scale prostitution rings engaging in kidnapping and human trafficking. Apparently, many illegal aliens are also doing the jobs that American women won’t do as well. http://www.examiner.com/x-5919-Norfolk-Crime-Examiner~y2009m7d16-Mexican-brothels-coming-to-a-neighborhood-near-you _________________ moreResolved Question: How Come an LA Station (94.7FM The Wave) Is advertising KCBS am 740 from San Francisco?

If you've been booed, hissed, heckled or hollered at ... scathed, scapegoated, scanted or screamed at ... if you're the bane of blue states and a gall to all the Greens ... you may be feeling lonely, but you're certainly not alone. Author Harry Stein has written a book for the elephant in the room. It's called "I Can't Believe I'm Sitting Next to a Republican," and he calls it "a survival guide for conservatives marooned among the angry, smug, and terminally self-righteous." Which is to say: liberals. "You deal with a lot of people who pretty much hate your guts" simply because you disagree with them, says Stein, who lives in a suburban liberal enclave a few miles north of Manhattan, which generally shades a deeper blue than the rivers that surround it. Stein, a lifelong New Yorker, traveled the country talking to other conservatives about their woes and prepared a primer for people who are locked in political exile in their very own homes. That ranges from parents worried about the education their kids are getting in elementary school ("always the Indians, everything the Indians") to professors struggling to make it in the ivory tower. The trouble can put relationships on the chopping block too. Stein, who details his own rocky relationship with his father in the book, found he wasn't the only one suffering. "I sat down with a bunch of conservatives in San Francisco, (including) a gay man who was talking about what it was like being a gay conservative in San Francisco. "He said it's a lot harder being conservative than it is to be gay," Stein told FOXNews.com. "His friends all turned on him." To avoid that kind of reception, some secret right-wingers take the extra step of pretending to be in lock-step with those around them. One studio executive he interviewed posted Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama signs around his office, depending won which way the political winds were blowing during the presidential campaign. Advertising his actual beliefs would have been deadly, Stein says. "People out there understand that those positions are really dangerous -- they jeopardize your livelihood." Stein, who has very harsh words for the left-wingers he calls narrow-minded and provincial, says he grew up inside the church of liberalism and knows it from the inside out. "Growing up liberal is kind of a birthright. You come of age with that, and everyone in your family feels the same way and everyone you know feels the same way -- and to break apart from that is like leaving behind a religion." But a funny thing happened on the way to the ashram -- Stein says he met a few conservatives and came to like them for their politeness and their personal values. "As a person on the left I never ran into people on the right. It was really a revelation, it was an eye-opener when I actually started getting to know conservatives, that they weren't monsters." Stein's survival guide is set to come out June 22, but the release party might have to be a little bit subdued. "We'll see if I survive the book," he told FOXNews.com. "My car was keyed once already during the campaign (because of a bumper sticker), so we have contingency plans for hiding it over the next few months." moreResolved Question: How can I advertise my business in Las Vegas?

Did you hear B-hops comments on Jim Rome, they were spot on. When MMA is in the Olympics let me know, so I can start stocking up on food and water, because the end is very near. To add to B-hops comments, I would say if you took the baddest s.o.b. in your neighborhood and put him in the UFC, trained him up for three months and then put him against the champ in his weight class, he would have at least a chance to go the distance, or win. Now take that same guy train him to box,and put him in the ring with the champ. in his weight class, and he don't make it to the second round. Boxing is better because it's a coherent set of rules. MMA tries to melt all styles of fighting into one smorgasbord. But you invariably end up with 2 grown men fumbling around each other like a drunken prom night in San Francisco. It doesn't work for me as a sport, because it's not a sport. what exactly do we get to see from them? How about - hype, false advertising, reality shows, soap opera personalities, fighters acting like bar thugs and having to fight in a cage like f****** animals - I mean - is there anything you can do to insult an athlete more that this; and most of all a fan base consisting mostly of drunk imbeciles and primitive, aggressive, Spike TV educated morons completely ignorant of this sport. MMA is boring as fuck, I meen cmon your on your feet for like a minute then transfer to the floor for the rest of the time, I meen keep a fucking time limit on the shit. By the way if a boxer gets hurt ( liver shot) he better stick it out and box, or hit the ground. But even then he only has 10 seconds, Now for a MMA fighter to get injured he has the option to QUIT, KEEP FIGHTING BACK (stand up) or take him to the ground and rest on top of him for the rest of the round. I read that the SF Chronicle, as well as the Seattle P-I are up for sale and have no takers. Recently my hometown paper, the Austin American-Statesman, went for sale. Last time I checked, San Francisco and Seattle are liberal places and should have a bunch of people who agree with them even IF the newspapers are biased (an idea I think is overblown). From what I understand, conservative publications are hurting too (I read that National Review is kept in print by donors). I think it's more due to distribution costs and print advertising not really working on people anymore. But I worry about the future of journalism. I stopped watching all of them because they rarely report and mostly bloviate, finding stories that conform to their talking points. Or will it go to the internet and become a glorified blog? I think it's more due to distribution costs and print advertising not really working on people anymore. But I worry about the future of journalism. Is all news destined to be read by narcissistic personalities like Bill O'Reilly, Lou Dobbs, Keith Olbermann, etc? Or will it go to the internet and become a glorified blog? Either way, I think we all lose. moreResolved Question: Where to advertise in Sacramento/San Francisco area?

Hi, Does anyone know how to get rid of unsightly satellite and cable TV wires? Is it ok to cut and leave the wires? I am mostly concerned about the satellite TV wires on the outside of my home. Is there any safety concerns with simply cutting? Is there a service that can remove the dish / cable lines from my home (a difficult to get to roof in San Francisco). I called DirectTV - they won't get their dish because the dish is advertising!?! Thanks so much for the help! PS: Over-the-air broadcast is great - I have a new Samsung LCD TV. The digital / HD signal is so clear. And the variety of channels is more than I need. moreResolved Question: Why would China send people over to buy foreclosures?

i graduated from college with a marketing degree over the summer and i live in seattle,wa and have not been able to find a job in anything related to my field! the job market up here seems to be depressing and all i have been able to find are minimum wage jobs that i could've worked as a high schooler. i'm thinking about looking into moving to san francisco. how is the job market down there for someone who graduated college recently and is looking for something in the marketing or advertising field that is entry level? also, i know any neighborhood there is going to be pricey (even though i thought seattle was pricey!), but what parts of the city would be good to look into for someone in my shoes? i'm used to living in a pretty safe neighborhood here in seattle, so a safe area of town would be nice and of course what areas are most affordable apartment wise? also, here in seattle i'm used to a lot of people living in suburbs and commuting to work because apartments are cheaper - what suburbs or surrounding areas of san fran are affordable? i'm not really picky about having to live IN the city and have the whole downtown, big city living experience. I'm more worried about finding affordable places! moreResolved Question: what cruise is this ?
