Open Question: Anyone done business with 5050loan.com?

I am asking this question for a second time, as all of the replies I received during the past several days, nobody seemed to read my question and just started providing links to various bad credit loan companies, payday loan companies, and companies that only fund loans up to $1,500. I am not interested in any of these loan companies. So please read my question before submitting your answer(s). Thank you. In this case, if you have not received a loan via 5050loan.com, you WILL NOT be able to answer my question, so please do not bother to answer my question if you HAVE NOT received a loan through 5050 loan.com. Thank you for your understanding. MY QUESTION: After seeing various online ads provided by 5050loan.com (see some of their claims below), along with reading the positive feedback on 5050loan.com in Yahoo Answers already, I was already to try my luck at getting one of their loans. However upon going to their website today (08-03-10), they have a statement on their website that states: “AS OF JULY 19, 2010 WE WILL NOT BE ACCEPTING ANY NEW LOAN PACKAGE SUBMISSIONS DUE TO THE LARGE VOLUME OF SUBMISSIONS WE HAVE REACHED OUR MAXIMUM PROCESSING FOR THE MONTH OF JULY ”. I have never heard of a business or company having to put potential customers on hold like this. Yet upon doing a little further online research of this company, it looks like they have over advertised and they seem to have quite a few ads on Craigslist and The Backpage and have ads on other various online advertising venues all over the country. Well it must be nice! I sure wish I could get a job working for them if they are that backed-up with business. SMILE! Yet upon reading a few media articles on this company, it seems that they work with several lenders and are not the actual lender themself. So I was wondering if anyone that has a loan through 5050loan.com, can you please provide me your lender name and telephone number. Because I somehow have a feeling that 5050loan.com is going to be swamped for awhile, and I would like to apply for a loan through one of their lenders, since 5050loan.com seems to be the only company out there that might be able to help a person like me in my financial situation get a loan for $25,000, yet if they are that busy at the moment, I hope by going to one of their lenders directly, I can have better luck to see if I can get a loan or not, rather than waiting for 5050loan.com to open their doors to start taking applications once again. Seeing that it is already August 3rd, they still have not updated their website to provide a status on when they will be taking applications again. I would appreciate any help I can get. Thanks everyone : - ) Ernesto 5050loan.com states in their ad: No Credit Check - No Collateral Required - No Co-Signer Required No Bank or Checking Account Required - Garnishment Ok No Job OK - Stated Income Ok - No W2 or Tax Returns Required Bad Credit Ok - Repossession Ok - Charge Offs Ok - Bankruptcy Ok Foreclosure OK - No Credit Ok Loans up to $50,000 - No Upfront Fees UP to $50,000 Unsecured Personal Loan No Credit Check - Patented Identity Verification Check more

Resolved Question: ♥poll What do you think about advertising♥?

I know this is long but please just take the time to read it, If you have time to answer tons of other pointless questions you have time to answer mine. Ya know what irks me? The way the media takes advantage of it's audience! Like ya know when you go to see a movie and your sitting in the theater and for like 20mins before the movie you have to sit through commercials, Like car commercials, soda commercials and condescending advertisements belittling you because you didn't buy your tickets online! Screw these people with a lawn gnome! I'm so sick of being stuck somewhere watching some stupid commercial for some crap I DON'T WANT! No wait! It doesn't end at the theater! Its in your computer! No matter what you watch you have to sit through some idiotic commercial beforehand! Wanna watch a short? Sorry, You need to sit through a super powerful adhesive ad! wanna watch a new clip, HOLD ON THERE! Theres a new dog crap remover you need to know about! It continues to go on on and on and on and before you know it you won't be able to walk outside your front door without an ad painted on your sidewalk!!! I don't go outside unless I have to so I'm fine with that...I'm just saying! Advertising has become unnecessary evil, to a certain extent! It helps pay for certain things and helps people maintain certain aspects of there business. However,When I go to a movie theater and i'm already paying $20.00 for a movie ticket why the hell do i have to sit through commercials!?!?!?!?!? What are they paying for?? The popcorn? Oh no sorry thats like $8.00,wait! Maybe the ads cover my soda,Wait! nooo...$4.50! maybe, just maybe ill get i special trinket from the movie I just saw oh noo! THATS GUNNA BE $35.00!!!!! So what it looks like to me is pre-rolled advertising in movie theaters doesn't pay for anything!!! I get no discount, No free candy,No cookies not even a dang taco crumb! I get nothing! All I get is bombarded with crap insulted by morons and taken advantage of by paper pushing idiots! So anyways, What do you think about advertising? Is it to much or not enough? Your input is wanted! more

Resolved Question: Can someone pick me an outfit on Victoria's Secret?

I don't really have a budget persay, but under $150 is preferred. I'd like a bra (36-38c), underwear (small), a top (medium), and jeans(8 or 9 depending on the sizing). I don't want shoes, or accessories. My style is pretty relaxed. I don't really like shimmery or showy stuff, nor do I like wideleg jeans. I'm a firm believer in unpadded bras (I think its false advertising), but I don't have anything against pushups. All of the items must be from Victoria's Secret online. Also, I would really like for all of the items to be in stock so that I can order them right away.I guess I kind of mistated something about the bras-I don't really like push-ups. I'd like my boobs to look their normal size. Also, I'd prefer cotton undies. And the day I wear this outfit, its going to be really hot, so keep that in mind. more

Voting Question: Can someone please fill out my Music survey for my Final Project?

Hi. I just created this Music Listening Preferences survey for my Final Project in my Music Appreciation class, and need at least 5 people to take it. :) Thank you so much! 1. What genre(s) of music do you most prefer to listen to? 2. What genre(s) of music do you not prefer to listen to? 3. List three of your favorite bands or musical solo artists: 4. How much time would you estimate that you spend listening to music each day? 5. How have your own musical preferences changed or developed during your lifetime? 6. Do you have any memories of when music impacted or changed your mood? If so, what happened? 7. What do your listening preferences tend to include when you’re happy? Fast upbeat songs, ballads, or something entirely different? 8. What do your listening preferences tend to include when you’re sad? Slow tear jerking songs, an upbeat tune to lift your spirits, or something entirely different? 9. How does a song catch your attention on the radio? Is it the lyrics, melody, tempo, mood, or combination of a few aspects? 10. What is one song that you associate with a major life experience or memory? Perhaps it was playing in the background at the time or the lyrics reflect the situation almost perfectly. 11. What must a CD album cover hold to catch your attention? Is it a unique design? An abundance of bright colors? Or something else? 12. What are you willing to pay for a new CD from your favorite artist(s)? 13. Have you ever been turned away from possibly good music, due to the content of the album cover? If so, why was this? Was it offensive or dull designs? 14. Do you do most of your album shopping online or at regular walk-in stores? 15. What do you feel is the single most important factor in choosing a CD to purchase? Is it the band or artist name, genre, avid media endorsement, recommendation from friends, or something entirely different? 16. Do you tend to download most of your music from the internet or buy regular CDs? Why is this? 17. If your favorite band or artist released special songs only for the album, would you be more willing to buy the CD? 18. When was the last time you bought a CD? For what reasons did you buy it? 19. Do you own a CD player? How about a MP3 player? 20. Can you name one time in which advertising influenced your purchase of a CD? Was it online ads, TV commercials, magazines/articles, band websites, or some other media format? more

Resolved Question: Should I leave restaurant review if it's going to be bad?

I ordered delivery from a Greek restaurant. The omlette did not come with the canteloupe and melons as advertised on their menu. The "puff" pastry was 80% raw as if it was in the oven for only a few minutes, the outside was a little brown but the rest was raw dough. I paid $2 extra for a 3 egg omlette vs. 2 but I can almost swear it is only 2 eggs. I ordered a medium size salad but it looks like a small side salad. A negative review online can have a bad effect - is it better to just keep it to myself and not post the review? more

Voting Question: Seen UK top 5 broadband rip-offs? & how best to deal with 'em? What do you think is the best deal? How 2 beat?

I put this in Politics as Govt promise to roll out superfast broadband Is there a corrupt angle? UK's top broadband rip-offs, together with a few ideas on how you can combat them. 1) Super-fast broadband You might think super-fast broadband sounds amazing. Lightning-fast deals via next-generation fibre technology allow you to surf the net at more than 5 times the usual speed (50Mb). Unfortunately, however, super-fast broadband generally comes with a much higher price tag than packages with standard connection speeds. And I think, at £40 a month, providers are ripping us off - especially when you take into account a 8Mb package with a 10GB usage limit can cost less than £6 a month. The fact is, unless you need faster speeds for things like watching internet TV or downloading HD movies regularly, these packages probably have far greater capability than you really need. If you're not a heavy user, paying the higher monthly cost is a waste of money, frankly. 2) Restrictions on download limits Many broadband providers boast of unlimited download limits, only to accompany these bold statements with a little asterisk which, on closer inspection directs you to a fair use policy that restricts the amount you can actually download. Fair use policies are often a get out of jail free card for providers which advertise unlimited download limits, only to impose penalties or other restrictions if you exceed a certain threshold. And, to make things even more complicated, finding out about your own download habits can sometimes feel like trying to break into Fort Knox. For example, when I called my own provider to ask them about my usage, I was only told that I ‘need not worry'. This ambiguous phrasing may make little difference in my case, but in some circumstances you'll only realise you've exceeded your fair usage limit when you get a warning from your provider – or worse, when a hefty bill lands on your doormat. If you want to gauge your surfing habits, this data usage calculator from Virgin is a nifty tool which will give you an idea of your own monthly usage, which you can then use to get the best plan for you. Alternatively, providers Be and O2 offer super-fast broadband with truly unlimited download limits. 3) Broadband without a landline. If you move into a property without a BT landline in place, it will cost you £124.99 to connect yourself to the outside world, plus £10.50 a month in line rental, unless you commit to an 18-month contract. If you don't fancy forking out all this just to get connected, one alternative is Virgin media which, providing you live in a cabled area, will connect you without the need for a BT line (£30 connection fee applies). In addition, some providers such as Tiscali make use of local loop unbundling (LLU) to bypass BT and offer inclusive line rental. LLU enables ‘local loops' (or put simply, the cable through which you receive your broadband) to be freed up so other providers can design their own broadband packages to provide alternative, and often cheaper services. The third way you can get connected to the internet without the need for a BT landline is via a dongle . Dongles provide a convenient way of getting online, though from experience provide much slower download speeds than conventional broadband. Check out my latest article on dongles . 4) Tag on the line This is one of the sneakiest ways broadband providers can stop you from switching easily. They put what's known as a 'tag' on your line, which is difficult to remove. When you run into trouble, they often point the finger at your landline provider, who then points the finger back at the broadband provider, and so on. What many people don't realise is that you have to talk to the provider you want to switch to and ask them to remove it. Luckily, Broadband Choices offers a handy list of numbers on its website to contact with regards to having a tag on your line. 5) Long contract terms Last but not least, contract lengths for broadband, and indeed your mobile phone are slowly creeping up, and these days you'll often have to sign an 18 and sometimes a 24 month contract in order to secure the best deals. However, there is light at the end of the broadband tunnel, and if you don't want to be tied into a lengthy contract, you could always opt for a provider which doesn't impose one. For example, you can now get one-month only contracts from providers like Plusnet and Zen, which enable you to switch at any time. Obviously, your broadband service is unlikely to be 100% perfect, 100% of the time, but hopefully these small tips will help you on your way to a smoother surfing experience. Voting Question: What is the most EFFECTIVE way to START advertising online?

I run a small website (which I hope to make into a big community site!) called godrrob.com (http://www.godrrob.com/). I've got a lot of advertising idea's such as Google Adwords, directory listings, and social media integration. But I want to make sure I'm using my time effectively. I only have so much time in a day to spend on marketing, and I'd love to see it add value to the experience on my site; not just sound like I'm trying to sell things. Any advice and resources are welcomed, and thanks in advance! more

Resolved Question: Would you delete your Facebook Account over privacy issues?

I found the article on yahoo and found it to be very interesting over privacy issues with Facebook and Myspace users. In a seemingly never-ending string of damaging disclosures about its users' privacy concerns, Facebook has reportedly been releasing user data to ad companies that hadn't even asked for the info. Facebook isn't alone this time: rival social-media site MySpace has also been called out in Friday's Wall Street Journal report by Emily Steel and Jessica E. Vascellaro — together with the content-sharing sites Livejournal and Digg. The report says that the companies have delivered user data to major online advertising companies such as Google's DoubleClick and Yahoo!'s Right Media, despite explicit pledges to protect such information. The released material includes user names and ID numbers, together with data that could be used to accumulate a host of additional information on individual users, such as where they live, their names, occupations, incomes and places of employment. As Steel and Vascellaro write: "Across the Web, it's common for advertisers to receive the address of the page from which a user clicked on an ad. Usually, they receive nothing more about the user than an unintelligible string of letters and numbers that can't be traced back to an individual. With social networking sites, however, those addresses typically include user names that could direct advertisers back to a profile page full of personal information. In some cases, user names are people's real names." Representatives of both DoubleClick and Right Media told the Journal reporters that they were unaware they were receiving such data — and stressed that they hadn't tried to make use of any of it. After the Journal contacted Facebook, the company announced a change in software to prevent transmission of the identifying code, the Journal said. MySpace announced that it's in the process of adopting the same user protections. Digg, Livejournal and other sites named in the report are apparently holding off on enhancing privacy safegaurds because they don't require users to register with real names. Still, the report is another black eye for Facebook, which has already caused such an uproar that four U.S. senators — not exactly your typical Web activists — entered the fray over the company's user privacy standards. Meanwhile, Facebook is generating plenty of bad PR all by itself, with an executive's backlash-provoking Q&A at the New York Times and recent reports that users who posted comments critical of founder and CEO Mark Zuckerberg have seen their profiles mysteriously deleted. These episodes may well explain the company's other piece of bad news this week: a poll disclosing that 60 percent of Facebook users have considered deleting their accounts because of qualms about the site's privacy policy. more

Voting Question: what do you think about art majors and art school in general? is it lame?

There are actually very few people out there who can "draw" and devote there lives to art. Art is actually in the business of communication, and you seem to be in the mindset that "art is for art's sake" Lets start off with drawing. Drawing is the absolute foundation of art, and your sketchbook is much more than a bunch of pretty pictures; it's a collection of thoughts, ideas, drafts, observations, moments, etc. Film is art, too btw, so have fun in your world without any videos, tv, or movies whatsoever. When you shoot a movie, a director most likely graduated from art school or hires artists to plan the movie. Here's where the sketchbook comes in. Do you think movies are born from nothing, but a script? There are storyboards and plus you don't just learn art techniques in art school, you learn how to think and grow with your own ideas. They story and script come from a concept and that concept is what you have to defend for in the art world. Moving on to things I'm more familiar about. Animation is a hybrid between all art forms. There's drawing in hand-drawn animations and in Flash animations. Claymations, and stop-motions are pretty self-explanatory. Here you say "with the computer nowadays you know. no body really needs you to draw anything precisely". That's bull. There's no computer that draws things out for you! Did you see Avatar? That was a movie ten years in the making almost entirely by human hands at computers. Granted, there were actors, but there images were overlaid and CGed as a base. Animation is Is the crossroads between tradition art and digital media and all your cartoons, advertisements, informercials, hell even sports games have animations on them. You know hen you see the scoreboard appear out of nowhere and then when you see reviews and stats on your favorite players? That's animation. Graphic Design is something you'd probably wouldn't be able to live without unless you decided to camp ut in the middle of nowhere. Nearly all advertising on billboards, online, on tv,on everything you own, Coke cans; that is all Graphic Design. Hell, Gaia wouldn't exist without Graphic Design. Every logo, image, everything in your room, is a product of Graphic Design. (Except for your furniture, that was from Industrial Design which is still an artform you couldn't live without.) Think about every logo you know, it from Graphic Design, and again, they know how to draw more

Resolved Question: What is the stand of NDP party on HST issue?

I vote of both liberals & NDP, depending on issues. So you can call me swing voter. I hate HST, like most other BC residents, will face more hardship if this goes through. I personally think NDP is playing dirty politics, they have to come up clear on this tax... I like many others wants simple answers which are... if HST is implemented & in next elections we bring NDP to power... will they abolish HST? Yes/No not...maybe Media reported their is a petition going around for signatures to stop this HST bill into law. Where is it? Is it online that we can sign up? If website & locations are setup in BC, why are they not been advertised or media is not reporting that. I & many others won't mind signing up online petition as well. I would expect NDP volunteers to at least setup temp booths in & around malls to get more signatures for this petition. more

First of all: is there an online survey or questionnaire I can take that will help me decide? If not, I welcome your advice. Science interests: earth/space, biology, astronomy, oceanic/atmospheric - I would love to do something involving science awareness/advocacy/education for teens or youth. - Solid computer skills, but no programming experience other than HTML/CSS - I love computers, I'm totally fine with working at a computer all day - Cost is not a huge concern, but must be less than $20,000/yr - **Must be a west coast school** Thanks in advance!!! more

Voting Question: travel agency advertisements?

How can I effectively advertise a travel business online. What free websites I can submit my travel agency to? How to mass advertise the travel business online for free. What newspapers and other print media do you suggest besides online? more

Resolved Question: What will happen to the media and entertainment industry in the future?

you can watch tv shows and movies in the internet, you can even download it...im afraid that one day people won't go to the movies or wont watch tv anymore since they can just watch online, and no more ticket sales and companies switching to the internet for advertising means no more profits for studios and production companies, so what will happen then? more

Resolved Question: My idea of a money making website?

So I'm planning to create a fairly simple website that seems to have a positive possibility for growth (in my opinion). It is like a facebook except for the fact that it would revolve around gaming (such as World of Warcraft, Counter Strike, etc). Some things that I think would make it pleasing to gamers is that you cannot upload pictures of yourself but instead you can either create avatars, post your in-game character looks, or etc. There is also no "about me" or anything of that sort, but you post what games you are playing and the details of how you are in that game (such as character type, level, etc). I would make money through hosting in-game events, advertising, and other methods. Do you think online gamers would find this site attractive? I would advertise this site using popular social media sites such as myspace, twitter, youtube, etc. more

Resolved Question: opinions on people illegally sharing media online?

i honestly dont know how i feel about it cuz yeh i love to be able to download songs for free or watch films online but i know it is destroying the entertainment industry. what does everyone else think? also, are you guilty of watching and/or downloading stuff for free? also, ive been thinking that instead of trying to stop it, wouldnt it make sense to change it in a way that benefits all? for example, people uploading tv shows on youtube usually put a copyright disclaimer naming the tv company that made the show now in hopes of not getting in trouble but the videos still get deleted in the end and then just get re-uploaded by someone else. couldnt they just come up with some sort of deal though, like get the companies to allow the uploads in return for the right to advertise on any videos which name them in the disclaimer? obviously that wouldnt solve the whole problem but it would be an improvement at least.i agree they charge too much which is why i prefer the free internet versions lol however people make music or films or whatever, it takes them time and money so if theyre not earning any money back they cant produce new stuff! more

Resolved Question: How do I list an incomplete college education?

I went to college for one year after high school and had to drop out due to severe medical problems. I then continued at an online school for about 1 1/2 years and have not taken coursework since. This is because I don't know what field I'll end up in and find it more sensible to find what I want to do first, get an entry level job, and THEN get my degree (I have to pay for my own schooling and can't afford any changes in majors once I get going). I'm only 23 and have 5 solid years of experience in the marketing/advertising/event planning fields. I am making a one page resume in Photoshop with some bold colors and graphics since I'm applying to media marketing companies- there's barely enough space for my work experience as it is; is it appropriate to list my education as "in progress" or should I leave it out?*sigh* i knew people would comment on the graphics part. i only put that so you could get an idea of the image i'm going for. i'm applying for jobs in places where creativity is held high... anyone in the advertising/meida/design fields will tell you that it's an accepted practice for resumes to be considerably less conventional... my question is about the education :) more

Voting Question: I'm looking for some good free or inexpensive ways to advertise and get clients for my graphic design business?

Does anyone have some suggestions that really work? I have tried advertising on several online mediums (CL, Recycler, etc.) with no results at all. My work is good, and I am very reasonably priced, but I can't seem to get people to actually look at my work and contact me. Any help? Thanks.I have my own website that showcases my work- suggestions of where to get a website or how to blog (which I have been doing since 2003) are unneeded. Thanks again. more

Resolved Question: Do you think my dreams are stupid? The degree I'm pursuing, my life goals...?

I have been holding a job at my campus since I was a freshman where I meet people visiting our campus. I get paid to mingle, talk, inform, etc. Basically speak + entertain them. I've found my background in my major Communications has been really helpful but I'm so scared about the real world! My focus is in Electronic Media, and I can't begin to describe how much I've learned about social media, advertising, persuasion techniques, business, etc. I feel like it's shaping me into a better writer, speaker + my networking has increased so much. My minor is Marketing and I'm trying to get a PR certificate. My dream is to get a job, and attend Animation school at the same time. On the side I work with music and have a dance team. I feel like my friends wanting to be doctors/engineers/teachers, etc are more practical...and I'm foolish. I've come so far, won awards, and have my own website paid for by the school just to write for the campus and entertain readers. I've looked at other majors, read up on everything, I've researched and I STILL love what I want :( All the career tests online and at my university say being a film director, creator or designer is what's right for me but I'm scared. more

Resolved Question: Best dog food from Petsmart for young adult medium breed (Beagle)?

Don't answer unless you have done some research, please, or have a good reason why you recommend the dog food. I am not saying this to be rude - I am just frustrated by all the confusing and conflicting information online. Even veterinarians don't necessarily give good advice, at least the ones I have seen typically support the ones that provide them with samples ect. which are not necessarily any good at all. I am extremely frustrated from looking online - I would like to pick a good one from Petsmart, because this is where I go and I don't have a lot of other options. I want the best I can afford for my Beagle girl, but I'm not rolling in the dough so I can't buy something that's super expensive. There has to be some pretty decent food there somewhere, right? There are countless reviews online for hundreds of different foods *sigh* but it's all really confusing. I wish there was an honest (not biased or advertising) website that covered the main brands, so that the average dog food-buying customer, who can't afford extremely expensive stuff, could choose something good for their dogs. Thanks in advance for advice : ) Sarah & Annie the Beagle more

On a daily basis they advertise their scam on THE DAILY STAR. Once you call their number which is 0203 283 8801 you are greeted with a warm welcome and asked some questions about your physical appearence, your personality and what you are willing to do with a lady. The interviewer will tell you how impressive you are throughout the conversation and evetually tell you that she recommends that you register with them on condition that you pay £249.. The claimed return on that is that you will be booked by ladies requiring male escorts and paying you £120 per hour. Prior to giving my money to these scammers I tried to do an investigation, I don't know how come I eventually got fooled by these criminals. The address they claim to be doing business from is 140A Brompton Road, Knightsbridge, London SW3 1HY Before registration I received a series of calls from girls speaking with european accent (non-English) claiming to be managing bookings of their clients, a lady calling herself Jeri claims to be the caretaker of registered male escorts, she is the one who interviewed me and told me all the lies so i can be fooled and pay the money. I was told a French lady wants me to escort her on a friday but my mobile number cannot be released to her untill I pay the registration fee. I paid the money on a thursday, after that I never got a single call from any of the so called escorts4her staff members. When I call to enquire about the appointment date and time for the escort, the phone rings for ages until someone eventually answers it, she would tend to ignore you and pass you to Jeri, who will ask you to be patient and wait for the call from the client. When I ask these fraudstars their full names, they would question why you want their full names, prior to forwarding my money to them I was told names like Jesica, Jeri, neither of them barely mentioning a last name. Resolved Question: Why the hell are so many men into seeing women kissing each other if they're not a part of it?

I have seen these videos online quite a bit, especially YouTube, and the more I've seen them, the more I realize they are actually torture for the man because all he's doing is watching and listening, instead of actually experiencing it. It is not fun to be visually tortured like that. I have had tried double dances at strip clubs where I give upper leg worship to 2 strippers while they're both french-kissing at the same time and since I love giing women that kind of leg worship, I enjoyed myself because I wasn't just watching and listening, I actually joined in on it. Maybe girl-girl kissing is a new trend, much like the way the media is never showing men kicking women's as#es in tv shows or movies anymore, escpecially when they advertise it in TV commercials, but whatever it's about, I hope these trends end because I especailly don't care for the girl-girl kissing unless I'm joining in on the action giving them upper leg worship. And othert than that, I want them to show some equality in action movies and their avdertising for a change, where it shows men kicking women'as as#es as well as women kicking men's as#es, I want to see a bit of BOTH. more

Resolved Question: Need chiavari chair rental for NWI wedding in September 2010?

I am looking to rent about 130-150 chiavari chairs in silver, black or white for a September 2010 wedding. I do not want to spend more than $3 a chair. Does anyone know of any companies that are in the Northwest Indiana/Chicago area? I have a background in broadcast journalism and currently work in public relations with a background in television, radio, print and online media. I would be happy to trade my services to better a company's marketing, website, etc. that would then lower the price of their rental. Or if the company is willing to sponsor my wedding I'd be happy to advertise their company information in our wedding program. Please help! Thank you very much. I can only do one thing because I'm so busy...I love world of warcraft, but the idea that I may have a future with my comic intruiges me (my comic is being advertised on an online comic book store, and I was asked by the publisher if I wanted to have my comic advertised there, so it's flattering)...but still, I dunno if it is a comic book people would like to purchase in the future... But I dunno, I need to do one...here 's my online comic so you can judge for yourself (it's using traditional media, nothing to do with computers thank-you-very-much): http://computerblues.piczo.com My comic is being advertised on www.metrocitycomics.com as soon as they update it and they let me know about some details... more

Resolved Question: all of our imeem accounts are gone for good?

imeem was a social media service where users interacted with each other by streaming, uploading and sharing music and music videos. However, it has since been shut down now that MySpace has acquired the service. The company was founded in 2003 by Dalton Caldwell (ex-VA Linux) and Jan Jannink (formerly of Napster), and many of its core engineering team came from the original Napster file-sharing service[1]. The company takes its name from “meme,” a term coined by author Richard Dawkins to describe the spread of ideas and cultural phenomena. imeem helped pioneer the free, advertising-supported music model for online music, permitting consumers to legally upload, stream and share music and music playlists for free with the costs supported by advertising. In 2007, imeem became the first-ever online music site to secure licenses from all 4 U.S. major music labels to offer their music catalogues for free streaming and sharing on the web.[2] The company also created the web’s first embeddable music and video playlists. People could use imeem’s widgets to embed songs and playlists from imeem virtually anywhere on the web, including on their MySpace and Facebook profiles or on their personal blogs. imeem was based in San Francisco’s South of Market district, with additional offices in New York and Los Angeles. The company’s investors included Morgenthaler Ventures and Warner Music Group. On December 8, 2009, it was bought out by MySpace Music, and all its content was removed. more

Resolved Question: PLEASE check this English letter for me!~~?

Hi, I have traselated this letter to English. I am really appreciate if someone could check this for me. Dec.15 is my deadline and I cannot find any native speaker around me. By the way, I think I am good at Chinese and Japanese. I would like to help anyone with Chinese and Japanese problem. With great pleasure and enthusiasm that I recommend to you Miss. X, an excellent student, who had worked under my immediate supervision for nearly three years, to your graduate program. During these 3 years, she put a lot of energy on academic research and set on online advertising, consumer behavior and Product placement advertising(PPL) as her research field. She also worked very well as my assistant and really helped me a lot in my projects, especially in Shizuoka Tourist Administration China Marketing plan, Media preferring of High Net Worth Chinese research projects. Miss X has a unique perspective towards her research. As a result, two of her papers about PPL and new media won National level Award. I would like to mention one of her papers about PPL in dubbed and subtitled movies to explain her research ability. Although the data of the research seemed show nothing special, Miss X analyzed the data again and again using different methods. Finally, she innovatively pointed out that the subtitle did an effect on memory to product, and when a product placed in a international movie dubbed and subtitled factor should be considerate. She said she would continue research in this area and put more energy into the game advertising. I believe that she has already prepared for her doctoral program. Next I would like to talk about her performance in projects to demonstrate her strong execution and problems solving abilities. In 2008, I involved her in my Shizuoka Tourist Administration China Marketing plan project. In this project, the target is High Net Worth Chinese, which is a new concept so the information of it was very limited. It was Miss X to make an effort on solving this problem. She contacted her friends worked in the advertising agency in China to collect useful data. And she had leaded other team members to design a questionnaire, send out questionnaires in proper internet media to collect first-hand information. Within a few months, they obtained valuable information to help the project complete successfully.Could you correct the unnatrue parts or sentences or words for me?Thanks! more

Resolved Question: Question about hotjobs.com. Which option below would you choose and why?

Now, join the decision team at hotjobs.com. Which option would you choose and why? *Option1: Focus on a few major cities or on employment in one industry. - Because the biggest job markets (and potential revenue) are in handful of U.S cities, Dimitri could spend precious advertising dollars selectively by remaining a specialist in technical jobs only or by focusing exclusively on the New York area. But, Hotjob's profits would be limited and vulnerable to local market conditions. Furthermore, online companies were attracting investors, so if Dimitri didn't position Hotjobs as a national player, he might miss his window of opportunity. Well-funded competitors would go national, then return to the local markets and crush Hotjobs. *Option 2: Act local, look national. - By focusing advertising on the country's top seven markets, Dimitri could concentrate his sales force in Hotjobs' regional territories (espacially New York where the national media is strong), hitting each with short blasts of a multimedia and telemarketing campaign. This option would include limited spending on national television advertising, giving Dimitri more bang for his advertising buck while establishing Hotjobs as a premium players. It would also allow messages to be customized to each city. However, a poorly planned and executed advertising message could make Hotjobs seem like a Low-budget, regional player-making larger companies and job seekers reluctant to sign up for a company they perceived as too small. *Option 3: Advertise aggressively to position Hotjobs as a national brand - By coming out fighting on a national level in this new industry, Hotjobs would get a head start by establishing itself as a leader in the business for years to come. But, Hotjobs' main competitor Monster.com was better funded and already had an established public image. With much less money to invest, Dimitri could end up with no brand image while exhausting his limited advertising dollars. Thank you for your time :) more

Resolved Question: Why is there a rule34?

Rule34 states that anything that exists in media will probably have some kind of pornographic representation online. ie: If you type any cartoon or movie character into Google and turn off Safe Search you will get bombed with obscene shots. What I don't get is: Why? I mean, are there really people out there thinking "Hmm, I should draw a bad drawing of 2 cartoon characters being intimate and post it on the internet". I'm not a prude or anything, it just seems like a lot of work and OCD to do something stupid with no real results other than advertising perversity. It's a waste of time. Why do people do it? Don't they have better things to do? more

Resolved Question: Does is my metal bed frame designed to fit my queen mattress?

I just bought a queen size mattress and frame from Craig's list. It is a pretty standard basic metal frame. My main problem with it, is that the mattress hangs off the end of the frame about 6 inches. I have looked online at similar frames, and many are advertised to fit full AND queen mattresses. I am not sure how this works as queen beds are longer. It fits width wise though, as that is adjustable. The frame looks like this: http://www.amazon.com/gp/customer-media/product-gallery/B0002CICVU/ref=cm_ciu_pdp_images_0?ie=UTF8&index=0 Is this the wrong size frame? Is it supposed to hang over? Is there something I can do (short of getting a new frame) to support the bottom? Thank you for your expertise/insight!Oops, sorry for the horribly phrased question. I should mention as well that I don't have a box spring (won't fit up the stairs), so it is rather annoying that the mattress just hangs down limply. more

Voting Question: can you help understand this?

There are several twists on old themes. One major one is to use newspaper web sites rather than strictly using the print medium as newspapers in the traditional sense begin to be eclipsed by online media. Another is to use subway posters in an urban setting to grab attention. The author also suggests that in offer based advertising that is meant to provoke a response in the event that a particular offer fails to attract customers it may simply be that the offer fell flat because it was not enough to draw in the customers or that it was the wrong incentive. I think that a lot of this boils down to the fact that in any endeavor you have to keep an eye on current market trends. You can't just go with the old standby at any given time. There is no such thing as a permanent solution to anything. Our world is a world of change and therefore every strategy must be continually reinvented to reflect current events and trends. more

Resolved Question: What are the best online classifieds and directories in the world?

I have many clients regularly asking me for a list of best online classifieds and directories in the internet? I would appreciate current listing (please ensure links are not broken) and state whether it is free, paid and/or comes with submission condition i.e. reciprocal links requirement. People are truly looking at the internet as an alternative medium to advertise and there is a need to produce a list of such services available to the public / global community. Thanks a lot for your help and have a good day ahead. more

Resolved Question: What would be the best way to find a mentor in my industry? (Advertising / Marketing)?

I've been working in the advertising / marketing industry for a few years now (been on the client, website, and agency sides of the biz). I really want to put together a time line or "game plan" for my career. My father is a senior manager at a financial institution, and he recommends finding a mentor who is in a position that I aim to achieve. Most of my work has been in the digital (online) space. Right now the (abbreviated) plan is: to gain a strong grasp of all mediums, get an MBA from a top-30 business school, and eventually end up as a Product Manager or CMO for a fortune500 company. I was thinking of placing an ad on CraigsList or LinkedIn, but don't know how best to word something like this, or even if those places would be good to use -- where do successful marketing / advertising professionals frequent? :) more

Voting Question: Can anyone recommend the best free dating site other than Gumtree for a specific type of unusual request ?

I'm a 37 year old male in Grimsby, Lincolnshire. Two weeks ago I went to a swinging club, Chameleons in Darlaston ( search for it on Google if you want to know more), down in the Midlands just outside Birmingham, as a purely one off with a married female friend. I wasn't an active participant this first time, but found it fascinating ( believe me, if you've never been then go, just for the surreal experience of it all !). I don't want to go on the nights when they allow single males in and would like to hook up with a female to go along again on the Saturday couples-only nights, maybe every five or six weeks. With a view to this, I was intending to perhaps advertise online accordingly. I tried Gumtree, but have found it full to the brim of complete timewasters and can't seem to get beyond idiots wanting to have me call premium rate phone numbers or buy dodgy videos. Any thoughts ? Is there a good inexpensive medium for advertising in this way that basically screens out the timewasters before adverts are placed and replies sent, leaving me with a core of sensible people who are actually for real ? I'd be very grateful for your input. more

Resolved Question: How Am I supposed to remove this "Indistructible" computer virus?

Ok, this is an important question and I need it in a hurry. So let's cut to the chase. I recently installed the Trial version of World of Warcraft and it was running so perfect I couldn't even believe it! No other MMO game ran with such perfection and everything until I tried this. But now I'm addicted...... But anyways. I think my trial has about 7 or 6 days left in it. So I was trying to level up and it was taking forever, so I searched online to find guides to leveling up faster and I caught this computer virus. Now this virus is something that I've never heard of before. It's so screwed up, I can't even comprehend it's stupidity. For one, it's one of those newer viruses that comes in the form of an Anti-virus protection program. So I exited out of it so I wouldn't get infected. I learned this from school when the School's network was being attacked by something similar to this one. But this one is different. It didn't even give me a chance! I exited out of it and more popped up. and it "Scanned" my computer and downloaded something. Presto! I now have a virus. So I try to get rid of it using AVG, of course, that doesn't work. It only destroyed half of it. So now the main stuff of the virus remains intact and it screws up my gameplay. It aslso screwed up my internet speed and it tries to download more viruses to my computer. Now I'm going to get into the weird stuff. What's weird is that anytime I try to download and install a new antivirus program to get rid of it, I can't run those programs. But I recently installed and used a program that wasn't a Virus protection program. So it's smart. What's even weirder is that random audio music and commercials play and I can't find them to stop them. Then this last time, I saw an ad for something called Harren Media pop up while I was running WOW in window mode. So I think that's the culprit, but I'm not sure. I doubt an advertising company would go out of their way just to make a virus that plays audio advertisements on people's computers. I can't get rid of it, and I don't know what to do. I think they're Trojans, but I'm not sure these are normal viruses. Yes, there's more than one. Now everytime I run AVG and scan, I catch the same four ones. Two are Infections, and it looks like the other two are Files that spawn or recreate them after I delete them and AVG can't delete the Files. What's worse is that the computer that's infected was my movie making computer and it was strictly for movie making purposes. But World of Warcraft would not run decent at all on this one I'm typing on right now because it only has 224 MB or RAM. But it has great graphics. (Go figure) So please, somebody tell me what my options are and how to do them. I hope I remembered all and every detail. For those who need to know, the infected computer is a 2002 Windows XP P.S. More details: Now it pops back up in a form calle AV Care and it tries to get me to install it but I know better. Imagine the AVG logo but in the shape of a Shield. That's how it looks. Plus, it opens up Internet Explorers to open portals to the Virus creators so they can do their audio advertisements. But the thing is, I can't see or find the Internet Explorers that it opens up regularly. I only know it does it because I press Ctrl+Alt+Del and switch over to processes and it has two "iexplore"s somewhere in the list and Ithey take up about a few thousands of power or memory or whatever. Then I use internet on this computer and it's at 0, which means it's running normal. (even though this computer's horrbly slow at everything it does.) That's all I know so far about it. I appreciate all advice, info and help anyone gives.I hope this doesn't delete the original text of the question. I didn't leave out the name of the fake program. It's called AV Care. Reread and take your time please. And no. I can't reformat my computer or system restore because I need the code and the disk that came with it. As fate would have it, I don't have those. One thing I did leave out was that I have tried disconnecting from the internet completely. I have pulled the WiFi Adapter out and disconnected so they can't do anything else, then I've tried destroying them offline. They still regenerate. and the two "files" are indistructible. more
