Open Question: Long time PC gamer expanding to console, ps3 or xbox 360? Please leave the trolls at the gate!?
Long story short, I haven't played on a console since the playstation 2. I've been a very devoted PC gamer, and have spent quite a bit on the hobby. However it's come to the point where the game market while certainly not stagnant, has reached the point for me that I can't find anymore PC games I want to play. I really love action RPGs, FPS (which I will only play on the PC), normal RPGs, hacknslash, Those types of games, and unfortunately there are a limited amount of quality games for the PC that fit this mold. I'm looking to buy a new console now that the prices have come down and they've both got fairly large game libraries. I'm set between the xbox 360 or the PS3, but don't know where to go from there. I don't care about the PS3's bluray player (I get all my media digitally and stream it to a media pc connected via hdmi to a flatscreen). I'm leaning towards the xbox because of it's live service and seemingly gigantic digital purchasing system, but I've also got the issue that many of it's games seem to be xbox/pc releases. Which of course I've already played on the PC. Now the PS3 has a less robust online system, but seems to have many more exclusive titles that aren't on PC as well. It's also obviously got better hardware, and less technical issues. Can anyone give me an opinion on which would be the better purchase and why? Please leave the troll baiting at the door. I don't need to read about how one console "sucks nuts", if I did I would just read amazon reviews =/. moreOpen Question: How can I continue to operate a third party merchant account?
For the past three years, I've been running a profitable side business helping charities and some political candidates process online contributions. Our clients' recent success has meant that we've needed to re-underwrite our merchant account. Lo and behold, we are now being told that our business is a third party aggregator and is disallowed per Visa and Mastercard regulations, and that even high-risk merchant account providers would be reluctant to work with us because we do process some contributions on behalf of clients. A few things make me go Wha...? By our last count, several dozen businesses actively serve this corner of the market and serve as third party processors for charities. Many have been doing so for ten years or more. The names involved include groups most people in the nonprofit sector would instantly recognize, like Convio. What makes this more confusing is that Visa and Mastercard have a dedicated program just for third party merchant "service providers" that include several consumer-facing third-party merchant products including PayPal, Google Checkout, the much-buzzed about Square, and in our industry, the aforementioned Convio and Qgiv. I find it utterly bizarre that something could be banned from the face of the Earth in one breath, and given special status in the next, unless it can solely be explained by the hefty annual pays you pay Visa and Mastercard to be a third-party "service provider." Here's the situation: virtually every merchant provider we've contacted has given us the same negative answer. Our current provider is pressuring us to complete service provider registration, which we've recently agreed to do, in order to keep processing. If we face any interruption in our ability to process for our clients, there is a very good chance we could lose the business. As a small business, this is literally life or death for us. The merchant account consultants we've used to get this straightened out have been no help to us, and didn't even know the basic details of third party processing when presented to them. I need someone to tell me what the deal is. If third party processors are banned, how can big players like PayPal continue to process and even the aforementioned smaller players who do exactly the same thing we do? Is it just a matter of paying Visa and MasterCard to be service providers (which we're happy to do)? Has the entire online fundraising industry, which by the way powered the election of Barack Obama and the rise of countless underdog causes and candidates, been flying under the radar for a decade or more? Are these Visa/MasterCard regs a recent thing that doesn't take into account the central role companies like ours play in the nonprofit space and the political process? And most importantly, how can we keep a third party account up for the foreseeable future, as we migrate our clients to their own merchant accounts? We're "play it by the book" kind of people but the double standards evident here seem kind of ridiculous. moreOpen Question: help with job interview please!!!?
I'm having an interview with santander for a customer service adviser. Anybody with previous interviews with them who knows what sort of questions they ask? any help would be appreciated Also is it just me being pissed off about the fact that they have a six week training programme which if you fail to attend a day or two,.. you will have to cough up £500 for the overall cost of the training, so God forbid you get sick. I think the whole job market has gone crazy and employers are just doing what they like. I mean first you apply then take FIVE online competency tests after which you have a phone interview. If thats not enough you then have a face to face interview and still they can't make up their minds and you have to wait for six weeks for them to decide. All this for a customer service role being paid just a notch above minimum wage!! part time!! If it's for a high up role then fine but for this?!! Anyway yeah back to the interview,.. I'm 13. Over the summer, I want to start an online business. I have many ideas, but ive posted the two that struck me the most. I feel these are great ideas, but I'm not sure which one to choose. My goal would be to make six or more figures a year. I know that sounds crazy since I'm only 13, but it's my goal. I would love to become financially independent. 1. My first idea is my favorite. It is a website where users can submit original songs, and other users can listen, rate, comment, share, and chat. There would also be features where users could post info and where bands could find new band members. I would make money from selling ad space, and maybe creating a pro membership with extra features if the site becomes big enough. Some problems I ran into when I was thinking on this idea was not having enough money to create the site. I thought it could cost $100,000 to have a web design firm create the site. Then i realized my cousin has been at RIT majoring in web design and programming for 2 years. I asked him, and he said he would be happy to build the site. Althoguh he may not be a professional, this site that he builds could be a "beta" launch, and money I make from it, I would reinvest into the site. My grandparents also called me yesterday saying they would love to give me money for marketing. Idea 1 Overview Target Customer: musicians, artists, independent artists, songwriters, record producers. Revenue: ad space, pro membership Variable Costs: websit matinence, domain, hosting, marketing Type of business: online business, online company, internet business, Internet company, small business, service business, social network site, online community. 2. My second idea is quite simple. I would create a basic website with storefront capability, and sell musical instruments such as guitars, bass, drums, keyboards, dj, mixers, lighting. I would buy the products from a wholesale/dropship company. Vthey would dropship the items when I give them the order details. I would price competitively but price to make a nice profit. Target customer: musicians, bands, artists, guitarists, djs, keyboardists, record producers, drummers, bassists. Revenue: ads on site, selling products Costs: website, website matinence, domain, hosting, wholesale products, marketing Type of business: online business, retail, ecommerce. Idea 3. This would be a website where users can store photos and or data on a secure digital storage site. It would cost users 4.49 a month and they get a certain amount of storage. My cousin would program the site. I would also have great security features for customers. This is a new idea and I know I would be competing with brands such as mozy, photo bucket, etc, but I feel I can start small and build up a better brand name. Overall, I love the first idea and the third.. Which idea should I do? Which idea is more profitable? Even if you don't like either, please choose the one of the above if you had to choose. After years of faithful service, my Olympus digital camera is finally starting to give out. I took a greater interest in photography throughout highschool, and now that I'm a college student I would like to invest in a better camera. However, like most novices, I'm at a loss about what I should get. With so many cameras on the market and so many different reviews available online, I'm having trouble narrowing down my choices. At the moment I'm considering the Olympus P-1l. I really enjoyed my Olympus camera and it's lasted me for quite a long time. I intend to take more artistic photographs opposed to just snapshots. I do alot of wild life photography and I expect this camera to be roughed up a bit during it's life time. I don't really need a light and small camera--I don't mind carrying something a little heavier. The most important features i'm looking for is something with great picture quality, artistic filters, and the ability to take marvelous close-up shots. I need something that can handle some damage(water proof would be a plus). Being a student, I don't have an abundance of spare change. However, putting aside money isn't too much of a problem. I can go as high as $600.00 dollars if need be, though cheaper alternatives are welcome. I would prefer if the people who are kind enough to answer this questions provide me with personal experience opposed to links to websites. moreVoting Question: Please help me choose?

Hi, I'm thinking of modding my Wii set and I've come across alot of terms like chipset, soft mod,modchip.. Some say modchip + softmod is the best.. some say modding will get you banned from the online system. But what are the chances of you being detected by Nintendo itself? Anyone who've modded their Wii and still enjoying their online services here? Care to give some tips or advices? As for modchip.. I tried searching for my chipset model and they doesnt have the data for this. My Wii serial is LU2002XXXX and the model number for my wii is RVL-001(USA) produced in North American market and copyright year is in 2006. They mentioned I'll have to really open up my Wii set to get my chipset model. Because I'm not sure what chipset to get, in terms of compatibility with my Wii set, and the latest games out there. Also, I read up some saying about 128mb flashdrive and some 512mb flash.. what are these flash drive for? And there are so many modchip I heard of on forums like Wasabi,Wasabi2,Wii key2,etcs and also they mentioned solder-less and solder modding. Based on my Wii model number and serial, is there any advices or suggestion you can give to a Wii noob like me? Currently I had warranty for 2 years and it's only the 3rd week of it now. I'm aware there if I were to open up the Wii set, It'll definitely void off my warranty that's why I want to check if there's other way to check my chipset model so I can decide on which modchip to get. But I guess when I were to mod it, they'll still have to open it up and eventually will void my warranty off. That's why I want make sure there's no other alternative in checking the model before I do anything silly.. Rather than opening up and realize my set is unmoddable and void my 2yrs warranty.. Please advice......~~Reply Jack: I dunno but I heard from one of my fren who actually did a softmod. He mentioned he can't go online, if not his firmware or smth will be screwed. That's why he can only stick to offline games. So, in the case that I do a softmod for my machine, I can still access its online game services? Is there any flaws to softmodding? Is it easy to be tracked by their server that we're on modded wii ? moreResolved Question: What business idea should I choose?
I am 13. Over the summer, I want to start an online business. I am currently taking a Business Camp at my school. My ultimate goal is to make six or more figures a year, and become Financially Independent. I know it sounds crazy since I'm only 13, but it is my dream. I have 2 major online business ideas that could work, but I need help choosing the one that would make the most money. 1. My first idea is a website where free users can submit original songs and other users can listen, rate, comment, share, and chat with other users. I would also have an area where users can post info and another area where bands can find new band members. To make money from the site, I would sell ad space, sell an ecourse on songwriting, and maybe creating a pro membership if the site becomes big enough. I have a problem though. Since I have no coding experience, I would have to hire a web design firm to create the site. The problem is that it might cost a lot ($100,000) to create the site. If it does cost that much, should i hire a programmer from elance or something like that? Thats how the website Digg was created. If it still costs a lot, should I have my parents apply for a loan from SBA? Overview of #1: Target Market: Musicians, Bands, Independent Artists, Songwriters. Revenue: Ad space, Pro Membership Costs: Website, Marketing, Website Matinence Type of Business: Online Business, Online Company, Service Business Idea #2. This idea is a basic business idea. I would create a basic website (not a webs.com type of site, but not a huge firm site). I would join a well reputated wholesale company that sells and dropships musical instruments. I would list the products on my site using an eccommerce section, and allow customers to make orders. I would price the products to make profit. When I get an order, I send the order to the wholesale company, and they ship the products within 24 hours. They are most likely always in stock, and will notify me of any problems. Overview of Idea #2: Target Market: Musicians, Bands, Independent Artists, Dj's, bass players, guitarists, drummers, keyboard players, lighting people, record producers. Revenue: Profits from Products, Advertising on Website Costs: Dropshipping, Cost of Products, Website, Website Matinence, Marketing Type of Business: Online Business, Online Company, E-Tail Business, Retail Business, Ecommerce, Product Business. Which idea do you like the best? Which idea do you think is most profitable? If you think #1 is the best and most profitable.... Why do you think that? How should I build the website? Will the website cost a lot? Should a get a loan from SBA? Would people like this site? If you think #2 is the best and most profitable.... Why do you think that? Do you think it is a good idea? Please help me. Even if you don't think any of these are good ideas, if you had to choose one, which one would you choose? Thanks! Also, I just received a call from my grandpa saying he is willing to invest money into either one of my ventures. Another GREAT THING is that I just realized my cousin is finishing college and was in college for web design. Even if it is a not perfect site, it could be a prototype. Also, he wont charge to build the site. Let me know what you think! moreResolved Question: Which business idea should I choose?

Let me know what you think! moreVoting Question: Which business idea is better?

I need to promote four (4) specialized products and I require advice from people with experience in online marketing and those people that are responsible for the area of promotion, marketing or sales of travel agencies and tourism companies that offer survival courses and cruises. This company is located in Iquitos, an exotic city in the middle of the Peruvian Amazon, one of the least explored and most bio-diverse area in the world. The products I have to help to promote are: 1. Training courses on survival in the Amazon jungle, for companies or adventure travelers. 2. Visits to remote indigenous communities that preserve their customs, for anyone interested. 3. Research or study trips in the Peruvian Amazon, for researchers, students and anyone interested. 4. Travel by river cruises along the Amazon river and tributaries or cruises in Pacaya-Samiria National Reserve (the largest reserve in the floodable Amazon jungle in South America). These are quality products. The company respect and teach the travelers to respect the nature. They take medical help or supplies to river communities and indigenous tribes they visit. Trips are designed to understand the nature and their ecosystems. This company works with professional and specialized staff as naturalists and, in case of survival training courses, with instructors of the Air Force. The company weakness is the international promotion and that is my challenge. I have had successful experiences in promoting hotels. But I never promoted this type of product. Therefore, I have several questions: A. Where or in what ways should I promote these four products? B. What websites, especially free of charge, you known to promote these products? In hotels, for example, there are sites like Tripadvisor and others. C. Do you know websites and forums that are focused on "selling" the four travel products I have? D. What social networks focused on these products are available? I know that there are Facebook, Twiter, Flirck, but, do you know any social network for adventure travelers or interested in this kind of trips? E. I was considering using the Lonely Planet, Viajeros and Losviajeros forums. Do you know others forums or specialized forums? Regardless of language. F. Does anyone could help me with the contact details of publishers of travel guides (Lonely, Frommers, Footprints, etc.)? G. I was thinking in contact with TV and film producers or film makers to promote the services of the company and be a strategic partners for films in the Amazon. Mushygushy.com was always a useful site for uploading photos/faces onto animated cartoon characters, but for the last year it has not been operating atall. It seems to me that, just as there is clearly a market for photo and video editing software, there is a massive marketing potential for software that allows users to load photos of faces onto animated characters, but the software seems confined to on-line sites like JibJab (which is very good but has limited material that is not updated very often) and the likes of mushygushy.com which has proven to be prone to being taken off line. Why can't the software be sold/bought as a standalone product without having to rely on an on-line service? Is anyone out there planning to market this type of software? moreResolved Question: GOVERNMENT!? NEED HELP!?!?

Has anyone ever sold or bought a car from One Stop Motors? or even heard of them? I placed an add for my car on ebay and within 3 days One Stop Motors contacted me saying they could advertise and get my car sold for $499 non-refundable for more than what I was asking, that they would continue to advertise it until it was sold, and it would come up on the top 3 of any search engine. However, being skeptical I said sure if you could mail or email me a list of the services and advertisement sites you plan on using that you just described to me over the phone.... well that's when all hell broke loose.... and they had me check out their website and read their blanket agreement online and do everything but send me a contract or description of exactly where, how long, and how many websites / ads they planned on marketing my vehicle. The only way they would divulge that information was in an invoice that I would get only after I paid them my $499 non-refundable. They just seemed shady especially if they do not offer their to-be customers with a solid assurance of where their money is going to be used towards and it is non-refundable. Has anyone here ever sold or bought a car from One Stop Motors and if so how did it go? Has anyone here even heard of One Stop Motors. moreVoting Question: Tell me cheap and best Online Marketing Services provider in India?
