Voting Question: Can anyone recommend the best free dating site other than Gumtree for a specific type of unusual request ?

I'm a 37 year old male in Grimsby, Lincolnshire. Two weeks ago I went to a swinging club, Chameleons in Darlaston ( search for it on Google if you want to know more), down in the Midlands just outside Birmingham, as a purely one off with a married female friend. I wasn't an active participant this first time, but found it fascinating ( believe me, if you've never been then go, just for the surreal experience of it all !). I don't want to go on the nights when they allow single males in and would like to hook up with a female to go along again on the Saturday couples-only nights, maybe every five or six weeks. With a view to this, I was intending to perhaps advertise online accordingly. I tried Gumtree, but have found it full to the brim of complete timewasters and can't seem to get beyond idiots wanting to have me call premium rate phone numbers or buy dodgy videos. Any thoughts ? Is there a good inexpensive medium for advertising in this way that basically screens out the timewasters before adverts are placed and replies sent, leaving me with a core of sensible people who are actually for real ? I'd be very grateful for your input. more

Resolved Question: Found a job vacancy on the Birmingham City Council website - what's the best way to apply?

I've applied for many more jobs that were advertised on this website but literally none of them respond. Usually, I use the "apply online" option and fill out an online application, but the response rate has been zero. Other options are to download the application form and send it off in the mail. Would this be a better option? What's the best way to be noticed? Is it even worth applying? Each application form takes about 2 hours to fill in and it gets me so frustrated when I get no response! more

Resolved Question: What is the future of online display advertising?

What is the future for banner advertising online? With banners weighing in with a whopping 0.04 click through rate, what is the future for this ever present ad format which can take up 30% of the screen? Firefox's ad blocker makes light work of diluting even the most sophisticated brand message and the more savvy the surfer, the less they attention they pay to online advertising. Will banners develop into a brand awareness tool or will there be another use for the format that brought us "shoot the duck"? more

Resolved Question: PLEASE, Can you help me find the best website TO PRIVATELY ADVERTISE MY HOUSE FOR SALE in SCOTLAND..?

Hello - I'm in need of selling my house and not keen at all to pay an estate agent to do something I'm able and willing to do myself. Im asking for anyone with experience of privately selling their own home in the United Kingdom, and especially in Scotland to get intouch sahring with me as much info as possible about their experience. Specifically where did they advertise it online? I'm aware I have to purchase a HIPS, and I'm more than capable writing a detailed description of the house and taking great photographs to show it off for potential buyers to peruse online (as I'm a photographer) and I can manage the dressing/presenting of the house to viewers, take telephone and email enquiries. I have a great solicitor and will do everyhting above board, but I simply don't feel that an estate agent will work anywhere near as hard as I will at selling my house to for the best price these days. I ahve had a few evaluations from local estate agents and they come across as really greedy to sell it no matter how cheaply as many of then take a set fee regardless of the final sale price. And for what? They seem to be (with respect) a bunch of lazy know it alls. Any estate agents reading this please don't be offended, as no offence is meant. But you come into my home and tell me what to do with the biggest material asset in my life, and you do it a bullying aloof manner. So I'd rather sweat and do whatever it takes; working hard for myself rather than sit back and allow an estae agent to take a chunk of money that I have worked extremely hard to earn. - I'm an intelliegent person and I am simply keen as punch to make my own private sale and hopefully be a small part of the solution to get rid of these greedy estate agents from the streets. They've made millions from selling our house for too long. Enough! - My home is bright, clean, fresh, welcoming, cosy, exc location, tree lined street, etc so I know it will go like 'snow off a dyke' with a little decent exposure in the world of online advertising. I dont need useless glossy brochures, and I DONT NEED TO PAY ESTATE AGENTS TWICE THE ACTUAL GOING RATE FOR MY HIPS EITHER. My house will sell if I can just get one buyer... lol Obviously! Can you dear yahoo-er help me here? Best regards to all who've had the patience to read my question to the end. Cheers!!!! more

Resolved Question: mobwars without facebook ? (banned for no reason!)?

Can mobwars be played anywhere else other than facebook ? What about apps like social me etc ? I am one of those people who got banned for using it too much, making too many friends, sending too many emails to friends, then got banned for uploading nude pics (which I didn't) then got banned just for playing mobwars!! Sick and tired of FB having some good apps and you only being able to use them when you are signed up with the site. Pointless signing up again to play games and then get banned! Find facebook rather annoying when the innocent people get banned for no reason at all. Looking around it seems to happen rather a lot! I think for what they banned me over they should actually ban around 95% of the people on there also too keep things fair! I tried emailing them, but they wont let me back on "it's final" so no chance of reasoning with the idiots even. Clearly only interested in banning people for whatever reason they feel like on the day. True for emailing *maybe* classed as spam, but making friends or emailing *too much* which isn't even started what "too much" actually is, then if you actually plan to make friends or keep in touch with people, or just to emal, considering its a social network where you get banned for actually "being social" it makes the site unusable. Be warned to all the girls which upload shots even in low cut tops, apparently anything "sexually suggestive" will get you a ban, no matter what! considering a fair amount of girls on there seem to "flash their stuff" then by rights they all should be banned also. I even asked facebook right out about it and they never replied. So facebook is fine when you are just telling them all about you, so they can collect all your info, but actually using the site ? well mightaswell forget it. I was happy just to play mobwars at night, but even doing that is "too much". Actually feel like signing up again and reporting all those "sexually suggestive" pics that everyone has! OH well, one thing to get banned, but when its outright uncalled for and unfair, well thats FB it seems! Even asked if I could have a copy of my friends list as I had a lot of friends I keep in touch with on there, no reply to that either. So clear that FB do not give a stuff whatsoever about any sort of customer support. So thanks to facebook, i lost my friends, spent ages playing games which I can no longer play, got banned for actually using the site no matter how little. Also all the mums which upload pics of their kids, hmmm! ban all them too, young kids, babies plastered all over the site! Girls stuff hanging out, ban all them too, ban anyone who makes too many friends, band anyone who sends more than a few emails a day, ban for poking, you name it! If they can ban me then by rights they should probably ban everyone on the site over similar things. Even more pathetic I was advertising my company on there which was costing me. So not only do they not care about making money, they also ruin my online adverts on there. So no reply to keeping my adverts on there or allowing access. Even started my own book group on there aswell! Facebook = The social network which bans you for being social! Thats how pathetic it is! I suspect near everyone on the site has "unsutable content" in one form or another. So what are FB going to do ? just keep banning people as fast as they sign up ? Normally these things wouldn't really bother me, but when its outright unfair and "no trial" and just pull the plug and thats it even though its outrigth unfair, thats when things annoy me. If I was actually spamming people or uploading nude pics then I could really expect a ban! I see this kind of thing has been going on for a while now. I suspect at this rate everyone will be banned off FB over the next year! I think they thought I was spamming as I sent so many emails a day, poked a lot of ppl, sent a lot of kisses to the gf, that was about it really! BANNED! Though they did let me back on after a few weeks if I didn't "use the site so much". Though lasted a week and got banned again and not allowed back on for uploading "sexually suggestive" pics. Like I said FB littered with them anyway! Could mean anything, a mother kissing her baby, geeze, child porn!!! Girls bending over in low cut tops, "sexually suggestive" how many girls do that on FB ? this is why I am so annoyed. I got warnings like 10 times saying I had uploaded "sexually suggestive pics". Sure I would have removed them, but your not even given that chance! I find it totally unfair. I was asleep when the warnings came though, went I went online in the morning that was it. Not allowed back on. As they do not "give any limits" either its pathetic, "make it up as they go along" kind of deal! more
