Resolved Question: Winner & Losers of NBA Freaa Agency?
Winner: Pat Riley -Proved he is the best in the Business Loser: Cleveland -What Can I say? Winner: Magic -Now the front runner in the East Loser: Lebron, Dwyane, and Bosh -Can they fit together? Will they still be friends at the end of the season? PPG will drop by 5 for each of them. Will they like it? Winner: Chicago Bulls -No one to challenge them in the Central Division now. Loser: Boozer -Sure is going to a great team, but his son's in a hospital in Miami. Was wishing he would go there, to be with his son. Winner: Eric Spoltra -Still the coach Loser: NBA - No true NBA fan (Not counting Heat fans) wanted him to go to Miami. They want the top teams to be the Lakers, Celtics, Knicks, and Bulls. And The "Decision" was an embarassment to the league. Say where your going on your site, then make a press conference. Not an hour long, snore fest. And then you say Miami. Then in your interview with Wilbon you look like you just thought " Oh shit! Am I Jordan or Pippen? What If I become the Kukoc or Paxson?!?!?!" Winner: Undrafted Picks - Go to Miami and be a 6th man, go to any where else be a 10th or 11th man. Loser: Lebron -I'm sorry Heat fans, I just don't see how the chemistry works! Celtics did it but they were all in mid-lower 30's who only wanted a ring. But can we really believe, that Lebron will like being the Pippen of the team? Or will Bosh like being the Rodman or Armstrong of the team? Don't see them winning a ring together, but I do think Lebron leaves in 2013 and Wade and Bosh stay, and contend for a Championship! Winner: 2nd Tier Players -People like Reddick and Childress will get way overpaird now that the likes of James, Wade, and Bosh are all in Miami. (Gooden, Milicic, Amir, Frye) Loser: Nets -Biggest loser, have signed no one. Winner: Knicks -I like Carmelo alot more than Lebron, if they can get him and Paul That's the best team, although I expect Melo will stay in Denver or the Bulls trade for him now that they lost out. Loser: Next Years FA Who wants to be a free agent, when a lockout is looming. Winner: Lebrons wife and children - Get to live in all-year nice weather. Loser: Lebrons Mom, and other family in Cleveland. -Get to have people give them snobby looks while trying to buy food. Winner/Loser: Bucks -Got quality players, but overpaid quality players. Will keep in contention with the Bulls for the top spot in the Central, but I don't see that team full of players who could be a 6th man on everyteam. (Save Jennings and Redd. Bogut Maybe) Winner: Stephen A. Smith and Chris Broussard -Smith was the first one to definitely put his name and reputation on the Miami Splice route. He’s stuck to his report for the last week and he comes out as a reborn information king. It’s quite the transformation after ESPN and the Philly media kicked him to the curb. He’s a star again on FOX Sports Radio and a trusted reporter once more. Broussard went from the second fiddle guy to The Man in this process. He’s been on the World Wide Leader for 15 hours a day pushing information, Loser: Ric Bucher -Before the John Clayon of the NBA. Now is the Dan Lebetard if everything else Winner: Rudy Gay -Good not $16 Mill good Loser: Dan Gilbert Looked like a baby, although I agree Lebron quit. Another reason I don't see the Heat playing well. Wade is a hard working man that wants to win. Lebron shoots full court shots before a game, and is a sore loser.Wow 3 Kings? Bandwagon jumper! moreResolved Question: Why is it called Free Agency and not Free Agency With A Catch?
As an avid LeBron James fan (not a Cavs' fan), I'm celebrating! Every great legendary team needs to have a dynamic duo or dynamic trio! EVERY team in NBA's lore has required it. IMHO: ♦ For seven long years the Gilbert led Cavaliers has squandered their chance with King James by giving him pathetic support. Hats off to Mr. James for acting for himself for a change! ♦ Gilbert's childish temper tantrum post-James' announcement on ESPN is in poor taste and unprofessional. ON TO THE FUTURE: ♦ The Miami Heat's Juggernaut Trio is the new NBA trio of the decade! Bosh, Wade, and James is a jaw-dropping, gawk-inducing powerhouse trio that WILL contend with the Lakers come next Playoffs! QUESTION: ♦ Why do they call this Free Agency and not Free Agency With A Catch? It's pathetic how the media and fans trash LeBron for something that is perfectly legal! Perfectly normal! ♦ Put this in perspective: it's not like Mr. James murdered someone! It's not like Mr. James cheated on his wife/fiance' (if he was married/engaged). It's not like LeBron did anything wrong. He has every legal right in the NBA Players' system to file for free agency and find another team. ♦ Players leave for other teams and it goes on EVERY season. EVEN JORDAN WOULD HAVE LEFT CHICAGO IF THE BULLS' MANAGEMENT NEVER GOT HIM HIS PIPPEN BACK IN THE DAY!!! ~~~~~ YOU CAN TAKE THAT TO THE BANK Cav hoodlums! moreVoting Question: Has Lebron even said hed like to play in CHI?
Has he made special edition Chicago kicks? Has he said Chi is a great place to play? Has he even said anything abt Chicago and his Free agency before? Who implied he would like to be in CHI? Where's the proof of this? Why would he want to play in a marked city? Kobe and Magic marked LA, MJ marked CHI and Wade marked MIA. What is with all this bullshit. Is it just the nature of the media putting every team in the FA race so it looks exciting and these FIBs can have something to talk abt? moreResolved Question: Should I Move Because of This Job?
Ok, so I'm from Milwaukee and I'm trying to get a job in the advertising field. I have had a couple internships (one being in NYC) and do a lot of freelance work. It's still been hard just to get an interview though because of my experience. Last week I was offered a job in Chicago at a large media company. They buy and sell media as well as some other things. If I take the job I would have to move, which I would have no problem doing if I knew this would help me get a job at an ad agency down the line. If it won't though, I don't want to move right now. What do you think? moreVoting Question: Another close senate election, this one takes place in Illinois?
http://www.reuters.com/article/idUSTRE61450020100205?feedType=RSS&feedName=politicsNews&utm_source=feedburner&utm_medium=feed&utm_campaign=Feed%3A+Reuters%2FPoliticsNews+%28News+%2F+US+%2F+Politics+News%29&utm_content=Google+Feedfetcher "The Democratic candidate Alexi Giannoulias is trailing Republican Mark Kirk in opinion polls ahead of November's election in which Republicans are aiming to erase Democratic majorities in the U.S. Senate and House of Representatives. Giannoulias's struggles come at a time when Illinois Democrats appear to be in disarray. Scott Cohen, a pawnbroker-turned-politician who won the Democratic nomination to run for lieutenant governor, is fending off accusations that he brutalized women. The Illinois legislature impeached and removed Democrat Rod Blagojevich as governor in January 2009, and he has been charged with racketeering, fraud, lying to investigators and other criminal activity tied to schemes that included trying to sell Obama's former U.S. Senate seat. Prosecutors investigated, but ultimately opted not to charge Democratic Senator Roland Burris, the former Illinois attorney general who Blagojevich had appointed to serve the remainder of Obama's term, over his contacts with Blagojevich's brother before being appointed. "Illinois politics has a life of its own. There is the symbolism of possibly losing the seat he (Obama) once held in Illinois, but he has 500 other things to think about," said political analyst Michael Mezey of DePaul University in Chicago. BROADWAY BANK Giannoulias, 33, serves as state treasurer. Republicans are spotlighting the soured real estate portfolio at the Giannoulias family's Broadway Bank, including loans to Michael "Jaws" Giorango, a convicted prostitution ring operator. Broadway Bank was recently ordered by government regulators to raise additional capital -- after Giannoulias received his share of $70 million in proceeds following his father's death. Giannoulias is trailing Kirk 46 percent to 40 percent in the latest opinion poll ahead of their November showdown. The loss of the Illinois Senate race would represent a serious setback for Democrats. Losing control of either the Senate or House of Representatives could undermine Obama's ability to get key legislative initiatives approved. Republican Scott Brown was sworn in as a U.S. senator on Thursday, depriving the Democrats of a 60-vote super-majority in the Senate, making it harder for Obama to pursue his agenda including healthcare reform. Brown won the Massachusetts Senate race to replace Kennedy, who died of cancer last year. Cohen's woes have added to the Democrats' problems in the state. His former wife said he flew into steroid-fueled rages and later failed to make child support payments while he aired a campaign ad blitz touting job fairs he had organized. Cohen said a 2005 domestic abuse accusation that he held a knife to the throat of his then-girlfriend was untrue. The charge was dropped when the woman, an accused prostitute who Cohen said was his masseuse, did not show up in court. His would-be boss, incumbent Governor Patrick Quinn, said on Thursday that Cohen should drop off the Democratic ticket if he cannot get past those problems. The deficit-riddled state dominated by Democrats has been downgraded by the debt ratings agencies and ranks above only California. Quinn proposed a 50 percent tax increase, but he quickly dropped the idea and the deficit has ballooned." http://www.wnd.com/index.php?fa=PAGE.view&pageId=116952 TEL AVIV – Websites should be obliged to remove "false rumors" while libel laws should be altered to make it easier to sue for spreading such "rumors," argued Cass Sunstein, Obama's regulatory czar. In his recently released book, "On Rumors," Sunstein specifically cited as a primary example of "absurd" and "hateful" remarks, reports by "right-wing websites" alleging an association between President Obama and Weatherman terrorist Bill Ayers. He also singled out radio talker Sean Hannity for "attacking" Obama regarding the president's "alleged associations." Ayers became a name in last year's presidential campaign when it was disclosed the radical worked closely with Obama for years. Obama also was said to have launched his political career at a 1995 fundraiser in Ayers' apartment. As WND reported, Obama and Ayers sat together on the board of a Chicago nonprofit, the Woods Fund. Ayers also was a founder of the Chicago Annenberg Challenge, where Obama was appointed as its first chairman in 1995. Ayers reportedly was involved in hiring Obama for the CAC – a job the future president later touted as qualifying him to run for public office. WND columnist Jack Cashill has produced a series of persuasive arguments that it was Ayers who ghostwrote Obama's award-winning autobiography "Dreams from My Father." However, such reports were characterized by Sunstein as "absurd" charges for which corrective measures can be taken. Sunstein's book – reviewed by WND – was released in September, after he was already installed as the administrator of the White House Office of Information and Regulatory Affairs. "In the era of the Internet, it has become easy to spread false or misleading rumors about almost anyone," Sunstein writes. "Some right-wing websites liked to make absurd and hateful remarks about the alleged relationship between Barack Obama and the former radical Bill Ayers; one of the websites' goals was undoubtedly to attract more viewers," he writes. Sunstein continues: "On the Internet as well as on talk radio, altruistic propagators are easy to find; they play an especially large role in the political domain. When Sean Hannity, the television talk show host, attacked Barack Obama because of his alleged associations, one of his goals might have been to promote values and causes that he cherishes." Sunstein presents multiple new measures he argues can be used to stop the spread of "rumors." He contends "freedom usually works, but in some contexts, it is an incomplete corrective." Sunstein proposes the imposition of a "chilling effect" on "damaging rumors" – or the use of strong "corrective" measures to deter future rumormongers. For websites, Sunstein suggests a "right to notice and take down" in which "those who run websites would be obliged to take down falsehoods upon notice." Sunstein also argues for the "right to demand a retraction after a clear demonstration that a statement is both false and damaging." But he does not explain which agency would determine whether any statement is false and damaging. Sunstein further pushes for "deterrence" through making libel lawsuits easier to bring. Sunstein drafted 'New Deal Fairness Doctrine' Sunstein's proposals outlined in his book "On Rumors" were not the first of his writings to recommend regulating talk radio or the news media. WND previously reported Sunstein drew up a "First Amendment New Deal" – a new "Fairness Doctrine" that would include the establishment of a panel of "nonpartisan experts" to ensure "diversity of view" on the airwaves. Sunstein compared the need for the government to regulate broadcasting to the moral obligation of the U.S. to impose new rules that outlawed segregation. Sunstein's radical proposal, set forth in his 1993 book "The Partial Constitution," received no news media attention and scant scrutiny until the WND report. In the book, Sunstein outwardly favors and promotes the "Fairness Doctrine," the abolished FCC policy that required holders of broadcast licenses to present controversial issues of public importance in a manner the government deemed "equitable and balanced." Sunstein introduces what he terms his "First Amendment New Deal" to regulate broadcasting in the U.S. His proposal, which focuses largely on television, includes a government requirement that "purely commercial stations provide financial subsidies to public television or to commercial stations that agree to provide less profitable but high-quality programming." Sunstein wrote it is "worthwhile to consider more dramatic approaches as well." He proposes "compulsory public-affairs programming, right of reply, content review by nonpartisan experts or guidelines to encourage attention to public issues and diversity of view." The Obama czar argues his regulation proposals for broadcasting are actually present moreResolved Question: Is the American empire coming to an end?
In November 2008, the National Intelligence Council (NIC), an affiliate of the Central Intelligence Agency, issued the latest in a series of futuristic publications intended to guide the incoming Obama administration. Peering into its analytic crystal ball in a report entitled Global Trends 2025, it predicted that America's global preeminence would gradually disappear over the next 15 years . That, of course, was then; this -- some 11 months into the future -- is now and how things have changed. Many of the broad, down-the-road predictions made in Global Trends 2025 have, in fact, already come to pass. Brazil, Russia, India, and China are already playing far more assertive roles in global economic affairs. Six Signs That the American Empire Is Coming to an Early End 1. At the global economic summit in Pittsburgh on September 24th and 25th, the leaders of the major industrial powers, the G-7 (G-8 if you include Russia) agreed to turn over responsibility for oversight of the world economy to a larger, more inclusive Group of 20 (G-20), adding in China, India, Brazil, Turkey, and other developing nations. 2. According to news reports, America's economic rivals are conducting secret (and not-so-secret) meetings to explore a diminished role for the U.S. dollar in international trade.China, Russia, Japan, Brazil, and the Persian Gulf oil countries -- are considering the use of the Euro, or a "basket" of currencies, as a new medium of exchange. 3. On the diplomatic front, Washington has been rebuffed by both Russia and China in its drive to line up support for increased international pressure on Iran to cease its nuclear enrichment program. 4. Exactly the same inference can be drawn from a high-level meeting in Beijing on October 15th between Chinese Prime Minister Wen Jiabao and Iran's first vice president, Mohammed Reza Rahimi. "The Sino-Iran relationship has witnessed rapid development as the two countries' leaders have had frequent exchanges, and cooperation in trade and energy has widened and deepened," Wen said at the Great Hall of the People. 5. From Washington's point of view, efforts to secure international support for the allied war effort in Afghanistan have also met with a strikingly disappointing response. In what can only be considered a trivial and begrudging vote of support for the U.S.-led war effort, British Prime Minister Gordon Brown announced on October 14th that Britain would add more troops to the British contingent in that country -- but only 500 more. 6. Finally, in a move of striking symbolic significance, the International Olympic Committee (IOC) passed over Chicago (as well as Madrid and Tokyo) to pick Rio de Janeiro to be the host of the 2016 summer Olympics, the first time a South American nation was selected for the honor. Until the Olympic vote took place, Chicago was considered a strong contender. http://www.alternet.org/world/143514/6_signs_that_the_american_empire_is_coming_to_an_early_end/?page=1Invisible: No need, said "third world rock" has already caught up with me right here. moreResolved Question: With countless newspapers discrediting Obama's stimulus numbers as being dishonest: has the media woken up?
First it was The Associated Press refuting the Obama administration’s claims for jobs saved or created nationwide by February’s $787 billion economic stimulus measure. Then it was The Sacramento Bee refuting the claims that state agencies had made for California. Then it was the Chicago Tribune refuting the claims that state agencies had made for Illinois. The errors were not of a minor or technical nature. They were egregious. AP reported that “some jobs credited to the stimulus program were counted two, three, four or even more times.” The Bee reported that California State University said “the $268.5 million it received in stimulus funding through October allowed it to retain 26,156 employees” – more than half its statewide work force. The Tribune reported that Illinois education officials grossly inflated job-saved numbers, sometimes saying school districts had saved more jobs than their total number of employees. This is a scandal and should be treated as such. It’s not government as usual. Instead, it appears to reflect a decision to distort government data collection to support explicitly political agendas. http://www.signonsandiego.com/news/2009/nov/11/stimulus-dishonesty/ moreResolved Question: What are your thoughts on the gay pride rally in Moscow?
MOSCOW – Riot police violently broke up several gay rights demonstrations in Moscow on Saturday, hauling away scores of protesters hours before the Russian capital hosted a major international pop music competition. City officials had warned they would not tolerate marches or rallies supporting the rights of gays and lesbians. Activists had targeted Moscow, which was holding the finals of the Eurovision song contest on Saturday, to press their claims that Russia officially sanctions homophobia. Police seized gay rights protesters as well as some members of religious and nationalist groups that staged counter-demonstrations. They also took away gay rights activists for simply talking to reporters, and ripped the bra and shirt off one female protester. Moscow police spokesman Anatoly Listovetsky said 40 people were detained, although media reports said up to 80 had been seized. Among those detained were British activist Peter Tatchell and American activist Andy Thayer of Chicago, co-founder of the Gay Liberation Network. Tatchell and most of the others were detained during a hastily organized protest near Moscow State University in southwest Moscow, where about 30 protesters shouted "Homophobia is a disgrace of this country!" and "We are demanding equal rights!" "This shows the Russian people are not free!" Tatchell yelled as he was being dragged to a police car. He was released a short time later. "The arrests were done in a very violent, aggressive manner," Tatchell told The Associated Press after his release. "We believe the reaction of the Moscow police was totally unjustified." Tatchell said Russian gay rights leaders had appealed to Eurovision contestants to denounce the police crackdown from the stage at tonight's competition. The live contest, which pits singers from different nations against each other, has drawn up to 100 million television viewers previously and is Europe's most prestigious pop song competition. "Today's arrests go against the principles of Eurovision, which are about peace, harmony, cooperation and unity between all the peoples in Europe," he said. "Gay people are part of Europe, they are part of Russia — their rights and freedoms are as important as everyone else's." Thayer was hustled off by police as he spoke with reporters. He said he had come to help "fight for the soul of Russian democracy." "If ... the right to assemble is taken away from lesbian and gay people here in Russia, then other Russians have to fear for their own freedom," Thayer said seconds before police burst through a ring of journalists to take him away. Police ripped the shirt and bra off one female protester, who identified herself as Ksenia Prilebskaya, and roughly pushed her into a police bus. Her glasses fell and she shrieked in apparent pain. Eduard Murdin, 40, a human rights activist from the Russian city of Ufa, was flanked by two officers who pinned his arms behind him and marched him, head bent over, to a waiting bus. "All we wanted was a legal protest," he said as he was led away. "But we were blocked. What else could we do?" City authorities had barred Saturday's rally, saying it was morally wrong. "(Gay pride events) not only destroy moral foundations of our society, but also purposefully provoke disturbances that will threaten the lives and safety of Moscow residents and guests," City Hall spokesman Sergei Tsoi was quoted by the ITAR-Tass news agency as saying Saturday. At one rally a short walk from the Kremlin, about 50 demonstrators from nationalist and Orthodox Christian organizations denounced homosexuality. One man was detained when he alleged officials in the Kremlin were gay. A half-dozen anti-gay rights demonstrators were also seized by police during a demonstration in Moscow's central Pushkin Square. moreResolved Question: Do big banks like C H A S E & Bank of America give to A C O R N? In 2002 Ashley Blazer Biden, daughter of Vice President Joseph R. Biden Jr. was arrested on a misdemeanor charge of obstructing a police officer outside a Chicago bar. Biden, who lives in Delaware and is a social worker for a child-welfare agency, was with a group of people on a North Side street when someone else threw a bottle at an officer. When police tried to arrest another person, Biden blocked the officer's path and made intimidating statements about her father's influence, officer JoAnn Taylor said. Biden was later released and scheduled to appear in court. In 1999 Biden had been arrested for pot possession. Nat Berman, a Tulane University classmate of Ashley's, told the New York Post that he bailed Ashley out of jail after her 1999 marijuana arrest in New Orleans, for which no conviction was recorded. Most recently, the New York Post reports, she is allegedly the subject of a videotape shot by an acquaintance showing her snorting cocaine. The acquaintance has so far refused to identify himself, acting through lawyers in his dealings with reporters, to whom he was at last report attempting to sell the purported video, while neither Ashley nor her parents have commented on the video. moreResolved Question: Is "Liberal media bias" simply code for the fact that neoconservatism has failed and offers no new ideas?
Every day I hear about it... but I don't see it. Fox News is the "most watched" news network in America. CLEARLY it is as conservatively biased as MSNBC is liberally so, and Fox proudly proclaims that far more people actually WATCH its programming than the more liberal network. Talk radio... well anyone who has ever listened even briefly knows that the conservative bias there borders upon fascism/ultranationalism. Rupert Murdoch's News Corp. is unapologetically conservative and the 4th largest media company in the nation. Time Warner is the largest media company in the world by revenue.... the former CEO of Time Warner Richard Parsons was a well-known Republican and gives generously to the GOP. The current one (since 2007), Jeff Bewkes, is a Democrat. Conservatism has the Wall Street Journal and the Chicago Tribune (maybe even the formerly "liberal rag" the Washington Post)... Liberalism has the New York Times and the online Huffington Post. It plays both ways.... yet it is the conservatives (who like to pride themselves on toughness) who are doing ALL of the whining. How is it that those who are always about being on the attack (be it in politics or with live ammunition) have been reduced to pitiful whining about feigned injustice. How can those who watch Fox News, which has been accused by its own employees of taking a top-down approach to its editorials (that's just a fancy way of saying the CEO/Board tells them what to reports on and how) then claim that it all of the OTHER news agencies (CBS, AP, Reuters, NBC) are the ones manipulating the news??? That is the irony in all of this.... the network that actually DOES manipulate what is reported is very likely the network that promotes the concept of a "liberal bias" It is just ludicrous. Don't think Fox News does this??? Run a search on Charlie Reina...former producer and copy editor for Fox News and get it straight from the source.... he was force-fed "news" to promote an ideology for years at Fox... and he has said so publicly. I suppose it does make sense when you look at it from the point of view of a Fox executive... you have to have some explanation WHY every other news agency in the world interprets events differently than your network. Liberal bias...conservative bias.... blah blah blah.....ONLY YOU choose your sources and you have PLENTY to choose from. The only bias out their is the reality of what is going on on the world.... and how YOU decide to interpret it. My suggestion.... never get your news from less than one COUNTRY let alone one media outlet. What do you think?EDIT: LIberal @$$kicker... not sure if you are agreeing or disagreeing frankly. You just listed a number of conservatives who made piles of a cash in MEDIA. Yet it is always the conservatives who claim that the MEDIA is biased... and not in THEIR favor. They ARE the MEDIA.... so where is the "liberal bias"??? And if their is none why are the conservative whiners so vocal??Elizabeth: Are you not familiar with the phrase "liberal media bias"? If not.... why are you wasting my time and your own by answering this question? Frankly... I think you are very familiar with the phrase... probably complain about it yourself... and are a disgruntled neoconservative who is having trouble grasping the fact that she now lives in a CENTER LEFT nation.Whip: Who got canned for sucking?? That was not part of my question.... and I have no idea what you are referring to. moreResolved Question: Is Barack Obama and his Campaign being just plain greedy in charging media reporters for covering election?
Barack Obama is charging news agencies and reporters between US$1890 (for seat with view, internet and phone access) to US$490 (seat, restricted view, no phone/internet) to cover the election night at the Chicago venue. On the bright side, there is no charge for being outside the venue (no heat, no phone, no internet, no view!) Bizarre when his foreign buddies have stumped up hundreds of millions of dollars in campaign funds using such well respected aliases as Daffy Duck and Mickey Mouse for their donations cut into US$200 individual packages. That means the Federal Election commission needs to verify 7500000 donors in September alone! What if this tape comes out next week??? Are Americans about to witness a violation of our constitution??? The African Press International news agency, which reported that Michelle Obama called to protest its coverage of WND investigative stories about her husband – characterizing the source of the material as "racist" and describing WND senior reporter Jerome Corsi as "evil" – now is calling on the possible first lady of the United States to "come clean" about her call. As WND reported, the Norway-based API said Michelle Obama called to accuse the agency of "colluding with American Internet bloggers in an effort to bring down her husband." The Obama campaign immediately denied there had been any telephone call from Michelle Obama, flatly dismissing the story as "not real" and "made up." API later responded by claiming it had recorded the conversation. Besieged by demands from both sides of a campaign that has reached the white-hot stage, the agency said although it had the tapes, it would not release them immediately. Now, in a statement dated Friday because of the time difference, API Chief Editor Korir has promised that the tape will be made available after his lawyers clear it for publication, and he denied being an advocate either for or against Obama's campaign. He said the delay also is intended to allow Michelle Obama to explain her actions first. There was no response to a WND call to the Obama campaign headquarters in Chicago tonight to request a comment. "A number of Americans who are die-hard Obama followers have tried their best to intimidate API using all kinds of threatening methods when they call in and when they e-mail us," the API statement said. "They are implying that API is planning to destroy Obama's chances to become the next U.S. president. API does not have a direct interest in the U.S. presidential elections and we want Obama supporters to understand that. However, when someone who may become the next first lady makes such comments as in the story we have published, the public have the right to know. Intimidation directed to the publishers of the story is not the answer. "The delay to make public the recordings is expected to give time to Mrs. Obama to come clean and tell the American people that her comments were not meant to harm anyone but that she was reacting to the media pressure on her husband. She should also come out and tell the American people that she will not discriminate those who are not Obama fanatics if she becomes the first lady," the statement said. Those on the other side of the political fence also were told to back off. Get the book that started it all, Jerome Corsi's "The Obama Nation," autographed by the author, exclusively from WND's online store. "Those who do not support Obama are actively pushing for the release of the recordings also, and we understand them very well. In many telephone conversations with them we, however, get disturbed when we realize that most of them want the recordings to be released because they want to use it to stop Senator Obama from being elected president. They state clearly that if the story is true and released now, the contents will sa[v]e America from a constitutional crisis that may come if things come out after the elections that proves Obama was adopted by a foreigner, thus, disqualifying him from the presidency," Korir wrote. The statement confirmed that API "has recordings of the conversation between API and Mrs. Obama" and "we confirm that the audio will be released to the public." "In the last 24 hours, API has been consulting legal advisers on the way forward in order to avoid being sued by the Obama camp. API has realized that the contents of the tapes if made public may change the political atmosphere in America for ever, especially in the next few days," the statement said. "API now understands the impact of the statements made by Mrs. Obama. The American people have reacted in a way we in API would never have expected. "Many have question[ed] why Mrs. Obama would choose a little known online media group instead of the American media. API was chosen because of a Nairobi contact that did not like the way API was covering Barack Obama using information collected from American media outlets. The Nairobi contact prevailed upon Mrs. Obama to talk to API," the statement said. "The only thing API may have done wrong is not informing Mrs. Obama that the conversation was being recorded. This is why it is taking time to release the recording while consulting a legal team because API wants to be legally safe from any Obama camp law suit," Korir wrote. "API is not out to convince the American public of anything. We do not want to influence the outcome of the U.S. presidential elections. API got a true story and published it. The fact that the story has caused a stir was unexpected, but that does not mean API must rush in a manner that will cause problems to itself, just to s moreResolved Question: Do you think that the media has gone far too negative? Where do I start?
I am a Communications Media major, i need to do an internship ASAP, If anyone knows of any agencies, do u mind sharing? moreResolved Question: Any tips on finding good headhunters or temp agencies in Chicago?
Hi! I recently moved to Chicago from LA and am trying desperately to find a job. I was in the entertainment field in LA but have backgrounds in project management, marketing, new media, etc. Any help or suggestions on good temp agencies, headhunters or any advice would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance!! moreResolved Question: Recent grad job hunting in chicago, how can I find a job?
In chicago and need serious help. I earned my b.a. in communications in december 2006 and have been job hunting in the chicago area to no avail. I've posted my resume on monster and careerbuilder. I researched and applied to countless numbers of positions to companies based in the chicago area, sent inquiries and went to staffing agencies, and I have found NOTHING. On my resume I have three internships directly related to: public relations, advertising, media relations, event coordinating, television production and digital media. Aside from the internships I have two jobs which are quite different from one another, one as a resident assistant and the other as a sales supervisor for a retail store. At this point I'm looking for anything where anyone is willing to interview that does NOT INCLUDE DOOR TO DOOR OR PHONE SALES, unless of course it is for a non-profit company. Any suggestions? moreResolved Question: When will 9/11 stop being referenced for everything that happens?
The most recent reference is from the recent Aqua Teen Hunger Force episode in Boston, Chicago and 8 other major cities. You can't just throw a reference about a historic event around that has nothing to do with a recent event. I don't mention Washington crossing the Delaware every time I go swimming at the beach. So any time someone feels that we almost, supposedly, sorta, kinda, maybe, but not really had a terrorist threat they link it to a real terrorist threat that was successful. If you wanna live in the past build a time machine and go back 6 years. I don't enjoy living in a world full of fear and fantasy. God bless Aqua Teen Hunger Force's creator's reaction from the interview where they only would take questions having to do with hair. To take the charges seriously and believe in the media hype that this is a horrible situation and jeopardized US security simply because the news media over-hypes and police agencies have no bearing on the real world with over-blown national security crap justifies the situation of bring 9/11 up for any reason whatsoever. moreResolved Question: How do I find a company or agency that would be willing to advertise on my son's DOCband so we can afford it?
My son is 8 months old, and to the naked eye, his head looks fine, however, because of a condition called torticollis he has developed moderate plagiocephaly (a flat spot on his head). To correct his head shape, we are getting him fitted for a DOCband, a helmet designed to direct the growth of his head over the period of a few months. It costs $2700, hardly affordable. I am trying to contact ad agencies as well as companies to sponsor him by placing their ads on his helmet and then we would be reimbursed to pay for the helmet. He is only 8 months old but is involved in more groups than I was in high school. We go to yoga and a library reading group. We are from Chicago and live in an apartment building with lots of other babies so it would be a great opportunity for advertisers. These kinds of things also attract media attention, which would be great for the sponsor! If anyone has any information on how to get a company to sponsor my son I would greatly appreciate it. Thank you! moreResolved Question: 9/11 Questions?
Why do so many people here always respond to questions about 9/11 as a "conspiracy theory" ? is the mantra taught by FOX? FTW - October 9, 2001 – Although uniformly ignored by the mainstream U.S. media, there is abundant and clear evidence that a number of transactions in financial markets indicated specific (criminal) foreknowledge of the September 11 attacks on the World Trade Center and the Pentagon. In the case of at least one of these trades -- which has left a $2.5 million prize unclaimed -- the firm used to place the “put options” on United Airlines stock was, until 1998, managed by the man who is now in the number three Executive Director position at the Central Intelligence Agency. Between September 6 and 7, the Chicago Board Options Exchange saw purchases of 4,744 put options on United Airlines, but only 396 call options… Assuming that 4,000 of the options were bought by people with advance knowledge of the imminent attacks, these “insiders” would have profited by almost $5 million. - On September 10, 4,516 put options on American Airlines were bought on the Chicago exchange, compared to only 748 calls. Again, there was no news at that point to justify this imbalance;… Again, assuming that 4,000 of these options trades represent “insiders,” they would represent a gain of about $4 million. - [The levels of put options purchased above were more than six times higher than normal.] - No similar trading in other airlines occurred on the Chicago exchange in the days immediately preceding Black Tuesday. - Morgan Stanley Dean Witter & Co., which occupied 22 floors of the World Trade Center, saw 2,157 of its October $45 put options bought in the three trading days before Black Tuesday; this compares to an average of 27 contracts per day before September 6. Morgan Stanley’s share price fell from $48.90 to $42.50 in the aftermath of the attacks. Assuming that 2,000 of these options contracts were bought based upon knowledge of the approaching attacks, their purchasers could have profited by at least $1.2 million. Merrill Lynch & Co., with headquarters near the Twin Towers, saw 12,215 October $45 put options bought in the four trading days before the attacks; the previous average volume in those shares had been 252 contracts per day [a 1200% increase!]. When trading resumed, Merrill’s shares fell from $46.88 to $41.50; assuming that 11,000 option contracts were bought by “insiders,” their profit would have been about $5.5 million. - European regulators are examining trades in Germany’s Munich Re, Switzerland’s Swiss Re, and AXA of France, all major reinsurers with exposure to the Black Tuesday disaster. [FTW Note: AXA also owns more than 25% of American Airlines stock making the attacks a “double whammy” for them.] Someone had foreknowledge of the attacks. In the weeks leading up to 9/11 someone made a series of investments that would have paid off in huge profits because of the attacks. This is well documented and undisputed. This person specifically invested in the two airliners used in the attacks, anticipating windfall profits from any drop in the stock prices of these companies. This is solid evidence that at least one person in the United States had detailed information that something bad was going to happen to the specific airlines that were to be used in the attack. We have been told that the person who made these investments never claimed the profits. We are expected to believe that this explains why his or her identity is unavailable. This is absolutely untrue. This is not an instance in which someone was waiting to pick up a package at an airport locker. This is a case of a financial institution processing an investment transaction for an individual. This CAN NOT BE PERFORMED ANONYMOUSLY! The identity of this person who had foreknowledge of the attack is know and this person’s identity is being protected by our government and this is a fact! Period, end of story. WHO MADE THE INVESTMENT? Identify this person and you have someone who very probably had detailed foreknowledge of the events. The fact that the profits were never collected is even more suspicious and incriminating. The fact that the identity of this person remains unknown is even more suspicious. The only possible conclusion is that this person is known to the government and that his or her identity is being protected. There has been a clear and concerted cover up regarding the person who tried to profit from events he or she knew were coming. The people who could easily clear this up, but who chose to close any further investigation into the matter are not underlings. They are officials who answer directly to the President of the United States. Check.volleyballchick what exactly do you not agree with? the whole point is your goverment ,the FCC...knows who this person is and will not release it........what the hell do you not agree with? didn,t you read all of this? more
