Resolved Question: I live in San Antonio, Texas. I have a bachelors degree in Advertising with an emphasis in Public Relations.?
I have been actively looking for employment in the fields of Advertising and Public Relations. Problem is that the only thing I can find is jobs that want me to sell useless things to the public outside of local businesses. I have taken courses in special events and promotions as well as creating billboards. I have even taken a campaigns class. I don't exactly know where to look. I have tried career builder, yahoo hot jobs as well as monster. Still I keep getting everything but the companies that I am looking for. I know there has to be Advertising agencies in this city. The problem is I don't know where to look. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I am interested in pursuing a career in graphic design, but mostly looking towards the advertisment areas. I am doing research for my perfered career before I start school so I have a good idea on what the hell I'm doing and if this is what I really want to do.
Some things I need to know:
1. How is the Market looking? I know internet based advertising is HUGE at the moment, but is there anything that could flip the market? Is the current state of the economy and fears of a recession effecting advertising agencies or the field in general?
2. How much does an entry level position pay?
3. What is the best way to get into the field?
4. What type of abilities would make me 'valuable' to a company besides being "good", as in what are employers looking for?

I see postings all over the internet, on Craigslist, in local papers, on university bulletin boards, etc, all claiming there's a huge need for English teachers in Asia.
Are these programs trustworthy? I've heard a few horror stories about people stuck in Korea/China with no plane ticket home, stuck in filthy housing, etc... Are they the exception?
It seems to me that with the huge amount of advertising done for these programs - SOMEONE is making money, and I'm sure at least one moneymaker will be the placement agencies. Is it at the expense of the teacher, or good for all involved?
I graduated 2 years ago with a BA in English & History and have had a hell of a time finding work - and am considering this path, but am not sure if it is wise. Ideas?
I would especially love to hear from anyone who has been involved with such a program or knows someone who has - even those who may have simply applied for one. Any good outcomes? Negative?
