Resolved Question: Child modeling/Print work?

Hello, I'm wondering if anyone knows of a Legit child modeling agency in the NJ/NY area for my 6 month old son. I'd really like to get him into print work for advertising. Thanks so much! http://i44.photobucket.com/albums/f39/Sourkandy19/3%20Month%20Pictures%2010-15-09%20Our%20365%20Portraits/dsc_0062_1.jpg http://i44.photobucket.com/albums/f39/Sourkandy19/3%20Month%20Pictures%2010-15-09%20Our%20365%20Portraits/dsc_0061_2.jpg http://i44.photobucket.com/albums/f39/Sourkandy19/3%20Month%20Pictures%2010-15-09%20Our%20365%20Portraits/dsc_0042_1.jpg more

Resolved Question: Is janice dickinson modeling agency legit?

i got a job offer from this place and trying to make sure its not a scam. heres the email i got.. Hello am SCOTT WILLIAMS. I am emailing you regarding the latest season of JDMA, Janice really gets down to business. In an effort to develop her models and prepare them for this next level Janice insists that the models live together in a "model house"- just like she had to do back-in-the-day. Much to the model's surprise, Janice announces that she will live in the house with them---policing what they eat, inspecting them before big photo shoots, monitoring their partying ways, and using any means necessary to mold them into fierce supermodels who can bring in big money for the agency. CONTRACT The company would sign a contract with you as soon as you are ready to work with the agency, any model that turns out first in the show would also be signed into the agency for the sum of $40,000 and the salary of $3,000 every month.I think this the dream of any model in the industry. You would also have a chance to be some hip hop video i.e if you would like and you would also be featured in some famous magazines like complex magazine, FHM, ETC. The chairman C.E.O OF Def Jam Mr Sean Carter would also want you to model for him, i mean helping him advertise his designs made from Roca wears in some magazines. Think this is your chance to make it in the industry (THERE IS NO TIME TO WASTE) grab this opportunity. Resolved Question: Should we move to Tampa or SoCal?

Hi, my girlfriend and I live in Brooklyn and are going to school here for another 2/3 years. We def. want to move but don't know if we should go to Tampa, FL or somewhere in SoCal. We know nothing about Cali except that there is nice weather and the people are nice - we're specifically leaving NY because of the rude people all around - and we def. want good weather all year round, no 40 degree winters. We heard socal is good but here's the thing. My girlfriend will be working for an advertising agency and I will be an accountant, probably (most likely) a CPA so that's another (the most important) factor. Would we be able to get jobs in Tampa, or cali? I like golf and my gf likes laid back cities like little towns so that's why we're thinking like right outside of downtown tampa or something. Please let me know what you think we should do and if you or anyone you know had an experience related to ours. Thanks! more

Resolved Question: What are the main elements needed to create a successful ad agency?

I'm in DECA and I'm presenting a business proposal for an entrepreneurship event, and I'll be creating my own business. I got past our district competition, but I need to tweak a few things. 1. What are the average prices for letterhead designs, business card designs, logo designs, and interactive game designs? 2. How much would a realistic business need to make to survive in the advertising world? 3. Have ny good ideas on promoting our own business? Thank you soooo much, I really am thankful for your answers. I owe ya! (If you answer, that is.) more

Resolved Question: The idiotic changeover to "All-Digital" TV: Can the new administration change it?

The "reason" (beyond the ridiculous change of 'improved quality') is that the analog signal would potentially interfere with CD emergency broadcasts on the VHF and UHF frequencies. But the real reason is that the frequencies were sold -- to the cellphone companies, I heard. The point is that in times of real emergency there may well be no electricity, and so none of the line-powered "converter boxes" will work, nor will any plug-in televisions. So much for Civil Defense broadcasts. In peacetime, this means your battery operated TV's will not work in your backyard, when you go camping, on your boat, etc., etc. With WIFI and wireless becoming a must for every electronic gizmo, you'd think people would see through the propaganda. We are going straight backwards, irretrievably -- much like the selling of the electric and water infrastructure of Iraq to Halliburton before the invasion sent us in there. Obviously the poor and elderly will suffer as well, despite the offer of "discount coupons" we see being advertised as a smokescreen. I spoke to a representative of the FCC at a Brooklyn, NY town meeting to introduce and explain the scheme, and was surprised to hear that the FCC had nothing to do with the change, which was forced on them by the government itself. According to the FCC's representative there, the agency was fundamentally against the change, but had no choice once the order was given except to inform the public as best they could. So the question is, assuming the Obama government can stop the change due for mid-February (after the inauguration), how would you begin to lobby for such a thing to take place, when there is so little time?Won't even address the "picture quality" argument, except to say that it IS nicer to drive a Ferrari than a Volkswagen -- so what? As to it being a "minor issue", I'm not ashamed to say that I am among the many for whom TV is my primary source of information and entertainment. Sure, emergency broadcasts can be has on radio. But how many people still own a transistor, and why would we want to go back to the '60s anyway? The program is like offering a coupon to buy a new car that runs on diesel. How about people -- the MANY people like me who don't WANT to change, or can't? Once again: over-the -air TV is a necessary resource in times of emergency, and as a resident of Florida I know what I'm talking about. This change will eliminate that resource, not enhance it. Those that want Home Theater are welcome to it! All I want access is what has always been a FREE public service without being tied to the wall-socket. more

Resolved Question: Christmas carols on L.A. radio...why are they needed???...?

To me, traditional Christmas music here in L.A. does NOT involve singing about horse-drawn sleighs in the snow...especially when it HASN'T snowed here in 52 YEARS!!!...or chestnuts roasting over an open fire, when we've had brush fires that killed innocent firefighters, and not every house has a chimney! Please tailor these songs to benefit the L.A. holiday scenes, like the Capitol Records Building in Hollywood adorned w/ a tree of lights on its roof...or the Santa Monica Pier w/ lights strung along both sides... I HATE East Coast traditions that put pressure on us to conform...blame the advertising agencies on NY's Madison Avenue... I hate to sound like a Scrooge, but this is L.A., and I DON'T like traditions that are strictly enforced... Your take on this, please... Thanks...I can't BELIEVE that NO one wants to answer this question...what gives??? more

Resolved Question: Job Dilemma?

I started a job about a month ago with a company in NYC. I didn't really want the job, but I needed the money and was pretty much desperate. Well, before moving to NY, I had a telephone interview with a large advertising agency, but that fell through since the lady was hiring in June and I didn't move until July because of some setbacks. Well, I got ahold of the ad agency recently and they want to see me for an interview tomorrow at 4 p.m. The job I have now is very dress-down, so I couldn't show up dressed up for this interview, so I told them I had a doctor's appointment tomorrow (which is a lie, but I couldn't be honest and be like 'hey, this company sucks, I'm looking elsewhere'). I feel bad about lying to them, but the company I'm with now has horrible benefits and no potential for growth. I don't want to tell this ad agency that I have this job now, so it's not on my resume. If I get this job at the ad agency, how do I quit? I don't really know what to do!This is in response to the person who said I should tell the advertising agency about this current job... I'm afraid if I tell the ad agency about this job, they'll think I always start jobs and then quit them. This is the first time I've ever hated a job so much that I even started to look elsewhere. I also didn't include the job on the resume I sent them since I just started. more

I am looking for a way to get a direct phone number or email of people at such agencies, as W + K, Satchi and Satchi, Mother, BBDO, Chiat/Day and Fallon in New York. I have a good portfolio book, and want to find a way that it can be seen by those that can hire me. more
