I am currently out of work due to a temporary disability and I am interested in learning how I could make some extra money with creating a website. I know there are ways that I could post ad's for company's and get paid per click, which I know is not much. What I need to know is how do I go about finding company's to advertise for? Voting Question: Why do web-sites mis-represent themselves?

Has anyone else noticed how often that web-sites say "Free to Join", when the truth is the following: The only thing which is "free", about these sites, is to register. How many people have noticed that, even when a web-site has a page, which, clearly states that "Your credit card information will ONLY be used for age verification". "You will NOT be billed for this visit" Yet, when you check credit/debit card statement, you find that you HAVE been billed, from $30.00, to $100.00, by the web-site. Is it not openly deceitful, for web-sites to promote "free access", when access is not "free" at all? Shouldn't web-sites be required to change advertising to say "Visit/Tour is "free", but access will cost (how much). Shouldn't Age Verification be changed into the more truthful: "Your credit/debit card WILL be billed this amount for your visit, today"? Why do/are so many web-sites so openly in-correct, or un-truthful, about access fee's. Why do web-sites offer "free access" when, from the moment that users begin signing up, credit/debit cards ARE, immediately, billed, for this "free access"? When makes this type of mis-representation any different than a local car dealer, who promises that "This car is a gem", yet it breaks down before the new owner arrives home, and has to pay towing charges? So I just graduated from college... I've had several job offers that I haven't taken. The thing is I think I actually don't like the field I would be going into. Honestly, I would rather be doing just a general labor job and work outside or something, something that doesn't give me to much responsibility or mental stress on a daily basis. My degree is computer science (web developer jobs for me mostly) I've found that with all my interviews it feels like I'm given to much responsibility and the company could fall and lose a ton if I slip up on one thing (most of the places are advertising and publishing companies), I don't exactly know where to go to find a general labor job, I don't have any kind of network and the way I have been finding jobs is through the internet but I can't find those types of jobs on the job sites. I did some searching around trying to find the most legit and best quality internet tv software on the web and everything pointed to one software maker: isoftwaretv.com. I just bought the isoftwaretv.com software which supposedly allows me instant access to over 3000 premium channels including ALL the premium channels you get with cable and also the ones you have to pay your cable company extra for. Well..........uh this is a scam people. Sorry. First off in the buying process they only have you put in your email address. Usually with ANY legitimate online store or service you create an account. That's the first clue. Then you'll notice in your address bar that in the buying process you're jumping around to different sites completely away from the domain name of isoftwaretv.com. So they have no way of tracking your account if they were a real company. But they aren't so this makes sense. Next, after they charge your credit card through Clicbank.com they show you get two things for your purchase: the isoftwaretv tv watching software download link, and a link that says "access sports streams". What?! I thought the player was supposed to give me all the sports channels that cable does! So I check it out first and it is all the commentary and stuff you get directly off NBA.com or any other professional sports website, but NOT the game itself. Note that the web address in your browser has changed yet again to http://members-area-tv.com at this point. I'm starting to realize this is for sure a scam. I noticed that I get a receipt from "CLICKBANK" and not isoftwaretv.com. That's funny I thought I purchased my product from isoftwaretv and not from Clickbank. Next, on my emailed receipt from "Clickbank" I see it says "Vendor's Site: http://www.streamdirect.tv" Wow, so I get a receipt from streamdirect.tv but purchased my product from a company who is supposedly called isoftwaretv. Apparently all these internet tv software companies are really just one company putting on different name and look on each of them. So I'm mad at this point and decide to check out the tv software application. It better be good. I flip through 15 channels and all but two of the channels don't even work. So I see what are these other 2985 channels....well they are in foreign languages, poor image quality, and basicaly I wouldn't watch these channels at anytime for free. No live sports, no Live NBA or any professional sports at all. I see only about 20 available english channels and...like I said only two work. Then I get these ad-ware spy programs popping up on my computer advertising for pornography and such with windows that when you try to close them they won't let you. Maybe I've made it clear that this product is only a scam and not a product at all. Funny that no one has bothered to write about this bad company that is nothing more than a scam. Don't believe any positive review on the web, apparently they worked hard enough on their scam operation to fill up the web with false positive reviews. Thing with scams is that it only takes one or two really negative reviews to expose them. So believe my review and don't trust all those other ones. At the very least, if you decided to try the software, make sure you call up your credit card company and reject the charge that was just placed on it if you don't get what you paid for or were led to believe you would receive. That's it, I'm doing that first thing Monday and making sure these guys never get a dime from me. In reading this, please do your duty and notify scam.com or even the FBI to make it less profitable for these type of people. These guys are tenacious so they can and probably will just do something simple like change the name from the current "isoftware.com" to any other random name after they've been exposed through comments like mine. I think the key take-away message here is that internet tv if not freely available on a place like hulu.com or doesn't come up first choice in a google search then it is just not available. If free tv were available then it would be freely available and easy to find, with no software purchase. TV programs are made by and produced by and paid for by their respective networks. NBC produced the shows and paid the salaries of Conan O'Brian, and Jay Leno, etc. That means their content is all theirs and no one gets it unless NBC makes it available to them. Why would they give it away when they have companies like COMCAST paying them for access to their content? I'm not sure about this but I'm thinking that " satelite TV for PC " might be this same company, but you can refuse the charge on your credit card statement if you do check it out and find it a scam as well. more

This post is not some sort of cheap attempt to get a measly few more views on my site from this community. I genuinely want your ideas on my situation. My situation (A new beginning): I just started an IT business a few months ago on the Gold Coast (IT Support, Web design, Computer repair, Computer sales etc). I went all out and QUIT MY JOB to make this happen. Most of my available funds and time have gone in to equipment, general setup (server, web site, some starter clients). I have a couple of refered clients (from friends and family) but not nearly enough to cover my old wage as an Network Administrator. Dilemma (The news): Soon after Quitting my job to start this business I found out I AM GOING TO BE A DAD! Great news...! I am ecstatic! but fearful at the same time because of my situation. My wife will soon be unable to work and I will need to support the family myself. Doing the sums, I figure that unless my business makes an extra 10k in the next 2 months (to cover some financing etc) I will have to give up on the Business and look for work. Is it legal to create marketing materials to beef up your resume? Lets say it was posters and videos; would I get in trouble for using copyrighted items such as logos and trademarks to create something an advertising agency might create? I have some background in web design and filming and editing videos and would like to know if the below scenarios are viable. Example: Diet Pepsi. I like drinking Diet Pepsi and would create a 30 second "TV commercial" that I think a typical advertising agency would produce (although on a much lower budget and scale) Example 2: Video games. Lets say a new highly anticipated video game will be coming out and I then go and create a typical 1 page magazine advertisement for it. Question 1: Is it okay for me to do both? Question 2: What if I decided to upload both the video and poster to media sites such as facebook, youtube, and my own personal website (like in a list of "fake ads" I've made) Question 3: I know credit should be given where credit is due, so if I clearly state that I do not own any of the copyrights and trademarked terms in both the videos/posters/websites somewhere, would that be ok? The simple answer is a resounding YES. Their website clearly advertises that you can get 10,000 NX for $15.45 - an outrageous surcharge in reality, but fair enough, if you want the convenience of buying online, then sometimes its worth it. The fly in the ointment is that you will never get the 10,000 NX, at least that is the case if you are unfortunate enough to live outside of the USA. Their system MIGHT work if you live in the USA, its REALLY hard to say. Regardless, their web site clearly advertises 10,000 NX and makes no mention of the fact that what happens next is they send you to another party, who is also not NEXON to turn the code they give you into NX. The code that Nexus Superstore gives you though is not worth enough to buy 10,000 NX, in my case is only worth CDN$10.35 which is $0.78 short of the CDN$11.13 that paybycash.com wants for 10,000 NX - at least today. There is absolutely no way of just saying, ok, I got F#!@ed but hey, I'm willing to pay my $0.78 and move on and put this mess behind me. Nope, the solution is to go pay another $15.45 and buy another card that is worth only CDN$10.35. This means that to actually get your NX you need to by a whopping SIXTEEN (16) Nexus Superstore cash cards, paying $178.08 in exchange for which you will not get 160,000 NX as promised, but 150,000 NX. Oh, and they won't refund your money either. If you paid by Paypal, well you are F@$#ed again cus they say, oh, well Nexus Superstore sent to you SOMETHING and it doesn't matter to us if its not usable or if the quantity differs from what was promised. Bottom line is this is out right fraud.As an update, Nexus Superstore seems to have now managed to actually get me the 10,000 NX that they promised, but only after I filed a fraud complaint with PayPal. Overall its been a bad experience, and is still one I recommend people avoid. Sorry if this isn't the best place to post this kind of thing, not sure what else you are supposed to do here though.
