Why Advertising is Crucial For Your Business

Wednesday, April 29th, 2009

Any businesses survival is dependent on two key factors A. The product or services being offered and B. A healthy supply of interested customers wanting that product or service. Advertising is the only way to bridge that gap between your business and your potential customers. Go to Giant inflatables for more information.

Some will say that they never advertise all their custom arrives via recommendation or word of mouth, but isn’t word of mouth just another way of describing free advertising! When we think about advertising many images are conjured in our minds, the most obvious being television we are bombarded with these images every 10 - 15 minutes.

Many small business owners see advertising as an unnecessary expense one they can ill afford, advertising is something that large companies do because their budget can sustain advertising campaigns we cannot. But the funny thing is when these same small business owners start to have problems and business starts to slow down what’s the first thing they do you guessed it advertise!

What they fail to realise is the unmitigated truth surrounding advertising,(sometimes all to late) that advertising is without question the single most powerful medium there is period!

Think about it everything we do is at some level linked with advertising. In fact our whole capitalist society and economic structure is dependent upon advertising without which, the system would collapse. So you see to dismiss advertising as a luxury or a unnecessary expense is complete madness and any business owner that does should be certified.

Before entering into advertising it is crucial that you actually have a fundamental appreciation of what advertising is, unfortunately most don’t. They use it in the wrong way, do not get any results and then decide it is not worth the expense. Most businesses, (and you too may be guilty of this) place an ad in a newspaper or yellow pages explaining about their product or service giving contact details on how customers can reach them, and then they wait for the orders. Refer to advertising blimps for more information.

when they are not forthcoming a decision is made either to forget about advertising altogether or leave the ad in place for a while on the off chance that somebody interested in their business will see it, and anyway its good publicity at least the company name is out there. This is not the way to advertise this is a way to loose money.

Advertising is a science and to fully understand the principals of this science you must examine the origins of advertising. It is crucial for anyone contemplating using advertising that they understand the foundations, you have heard the saying “in order to know where your going you need to know where you come from” well in respects of advertising this statement rings true.

The fore fathers of modern day advertisers originated in America at the beginning of the 20th century, these giants designed and sculpted the landscape of advertising to reflect an image of ultimate professionalism and innovation. And the greatest exponent of this art, and widely acknowledged as the father of modern advertising was Claude C. Hopkins.

His methods, strategies and techniques laid the foundations for advertising to be seen to be profitable. His revolutionary idea on research had never been witnessed, ideas on testing were all new concepts at the beginning of the last century.

Therefore if you which to really grasp the true power of advertising and what it can do for your business look back so you can see forwards. Visit advertising balloons for further information.

Good Man Management Is Crucial To A Successful Business

Wednesday, April 29th, 2009

I’m sure most of us could site incidents we have experienced with bosses that would benefit from management training. To reach a managerial level in any company you first have to display a level of expertise in your field. Of course, being great at your job and brilliant at filling out paperwork does not automatically mean you are good at man management and without that you will find your department subject to a high staff turnover. Go to business training for more information.

However you have worked your way through the ranks you would do well to remember that you were once in the same position as those below you in rank and that you could just as easily find yourself back there. Trying to exert your authority by force and bullying will never work and is a very old fashioned way of working. Bad management leads to unhappy employees and a significantly less productive workforce.

While working as a secretary I was talking to one of the other employees who was passing through the office and the banter led to some minimal laughter. This resulted in my manager bellowing from his office, demanding to know what we thought we were doing. When we told him we were laughing he told us he doesn’t pay us to laugh so pack it in1 An ideal candidate for management training if ever I saw one!

Unrealistic rules are a big no-no when it comes to efficiently managing a workforce. If you try to suppress your staff you will find yourself severely disliked and while it may not be a popularity competition, you would get so much more from your staff were you to treat them properly. Being unrealistic and setting petty rules would also cover the same boss that I spoke of earlier who also went on to allocate the number of teabags each employee was allowed to use in a day.

One of the first rules management training will advise you of is that of not ridiculing your staff in public. Nobody wants to be made to feel small or useless in front of others. If a problem needs addressing the staff member in question, as well as all the others, will appreciate it if you would carry it out in the privacy of your own office. Also, take this opportunity to listen and be fair rather than wading in with your size tens and automatically criticising.

For those companies that carry out their own in-house management training, listening to the ideas of others is vital. If everyone feels they are able to make a worthwhile contribution and that their ideas are taken seriously they are much more likely to work that little bit harder for the company, which in turn reflects on your managements skills. Refer to business training for more information.

Praising people with balance is never an easy thing to do. You don’t want them to feel that you are faking it and you don’t want them to feel like children but if staff know they are appreciated, they are much more likely to give that extra percentage that makes the difference to end of month figures.

Bosses are very often in fear of someone else taking over their jobs and can have a tendency to suppress their workforce in a bid to prevent this from happening. Management training will teach them that if everyone is allowed room for professional growth you won’t lose your job, you will have a productive company that reflects well on your own skills.

When giving instructions to staff, be clear and precise without simplifying everything too much. If the people below you know what is expected. They are much better placed to produce the work quickly and efficiently, thus feeling like they have done their job well and being much keener to come into work the following day. Just get on with it just doesn’t cover it.

Do not ignore the individuality of your employees, Each of them bring a unique quality to your business and this should be embraced and encouraged. Also, management training will tell you that you cannot ignore the fact that staff have personal lives and try as we might, it is not always humanly possible to cut one off from the other. ‘Don’t bring your problems to work’ is a popular phrase among bosses but will make you appear cold and callous. Often, a member of staff will simply need the leeway to air their current problem to a sympathetic ear and then, feeling lighter, will return to work unhindered.

Management training is an effective way of learning how to deal with not only your business but your staff also. Man management is often overlooked but is probably the most essential part of the position you hold. Visit Business Process training for further information.

Recession Lifeline For Entrepreneurs With New Free Viral Advertising Site

Wednesday, April 29th, 2009

Times are tough, there’s no glossing over it. Your business requires as many buying customers as you can take. What if I told you, in less than 5 minutes, you could broadcast your time limited special deal to a rabid starving crowd of buying customers and it wouldn’t cost you a thing!

Sounds like the stuff of fiction - or at least what online gurus would have you believe but for the time being, attempt to suspend your incredulity and roll with it…

Every body likes coupon special offers especially in the harsh reality of today’s business envrionment. If you’re a business owner, you know how hard it is out there and every advantage you can stack in your favour will help you survive and thrive.

What if you could find a marketplace where coupon special offers was part and parcel of the business matching highly motivated buyers with businesses without the need for any kind of annoying advertising.

Well, you need to visit a new site called Tweelim.com which permits you to generate coupon special offers in minutes allowing prospects across the globe to get your offer minutes after that.

You may have read Rich Schefren’s Attention Age doctrine already. In it he explains how we are becoming ever more inundated with information be it from the office or from advertisers. Buyers are getting more and more annoyed by info overload - they can’t see the woods for the trees and long running advertising techniques are losing effectiveness.

Rather than you chasing buyers, why not have buyers come to you instead - it’s a much easier sale!

Give a prospect a reason to pull away from a sale because they know the offer will still be there when they want to come back - guess what, you’ll never see them again. Buf if a prospect knows a special offer has a time limit, you’re making sure they understand they have a limited window of time to buy.

A simple but devastatingly effective tactic we have all seen used Maybe you have heard of Frank Kern’s Mass Control course or the Product Launch Formula by Jeff Walker? Have you counted up how many ways you advertise and market your products? Article marketing, PPC, SEO, Ezines, Direct Mail, the list goes on…

The question is how many channels is enough?

Never enough of course!

With Tweelim, there are 1400 channels to start with covering almost every category you can think of. Perhaps when you read this there may well be more.

The nice thing about Tweelim, there is no restriction on the number of channels you can use in your advertising efforts, you can reuse the same advert in multiple adverts provided the advert makes sense in the niche As of writing this piece, advertising is free - yes you read that right, nada.

As an example, perhaps you would like to send or receive marketing special offers or maybe even book a table and get a restaurant special offer. There are as many categories as you can imagine available to cover all sorts of niches.

With built in viral marketing using social media sites like Twitter.

Almost every niche is covered Here’s just some of the categories you can advertise in:

  • Plumbers
  • Internet Marketing
  • Electronics
  • Taxi Service
  • Flights

It will not be long before Tweelim becomes a household name..

What Makes a Store Successful?

Wednesday, April 29th, 2009

One of my favorite things to any time I visit a place is check out the local shops They always have so much character, and usually awesome products! A small business run from home can be a very successful career choice if managed effectively. It requires a good understanding of Business strategy and business planning You will need a general understanding of business strategy and business planning, but other than that all you need is a creative idea! After you get an idea, all you have to do is find and by a place. After you work out the details, you’re ready to open up shop.
Location is an imperative to a successful store. If you pick an outlet in a bad part of town or an area where no one visits, it will affect your business. Small businesses usually cannot afford widespread advertising. So, no one will know that such a jewel is hidden in a bad location. Picking a lucrative spot can be the difference between money spent and money earned. My favorite stores are the ones in fun places.Any store by a waterfront or the city is a good choice. Giving your customers a reason to stick around your store is great.important. If your store is next to an ice-cream shack, tourists enjoying ice cream will wander into your store. What more could you want!
In addition; your store has to be welcoming. You have to persuade people into shopping at your store. This should be done is a low key fashion. People are often offended by flashy signs and in-your-face advertisement. You can do this by making your store homey and comfortable. Adding bright colored window curtains will attract viewers from across the way, or even those driving by. Another nice touch would be chairs and tasteful decorations outside. This will make your business appear welcoming and friendly. Being tasteful is something you have to remember, you don’t want to drive people who think differently away.Failing to do this will loose you customers and credibility. You don’t want to drive away people who could become loyal customers Always keep an open door.
Another important thing to remember when opening a store is your product. After all, the sole purpose of a store is to sell a product. You want your store to have a purpose. Try not to end up being the “junk drawer” of retail. A good way to decide what types of things to sell in your business is by looking at your audience. If you’re located near water, a kayak store would be a smart investment. If you’re near an urban area, maybe clothing and accessories would be more rewarding. Targeting your product to the area your in will also bring in visitors. When people travel they like to experience the culture, so stores that mirror the culture of their area will be very popular among tourists!
Home run businesses are often some of the best stores. Being run by individuals gives them character, appeal, and they are usually very nicely operated. Starting a small business of your own can be a great money maker if you have the right stuff. It doesn’t have any set pre-requisite other than, maybe, social skills. Some things to keep in mind while thinking of opening a small business are location, appeal, and product. The location of your store is directly related to success. Also, your store has to be aesthetically pleasing. Lastly, always take great care when deciding what you are going to sell.Choose a product that is popular and needed by your target audience.

Marketing Your Small Business

Tuesday, April 28th, 2009

Small business marketing may be the most important part in owning and maintaining a successful small business. A good portion of the marketing effort is determining the needs of your target market and then explaining that you provide solutions to meet those needs. Contrary to popular belief, it is a lot more than posting a sign or handing out flyers. Though many of the philosophies and tactics may be similar, small business marketing is an entirely different discipline than marketing of large companies. Successful marketing is not just a tactic or strategy; it is an entire process and you are sure to fail if you are not enthusiastic about your small business. Go to Business Cards for more information.

Done properly, marketing can and will attract all the clients your small business can handle. But I would suggest you get to a place where you work only with clients who value what you have to offer. If you commit to following simple small business marketing systems, strategies and ideas you can significantly increase what you charge for your services. Unfortunately though, most small business promotions focus only on how great their products and services are. But you need to stay focused on what products and services your ideal clients want and need.

Here?€™s another big no-no to avoid. Instead of marketing only when you need money or cash flow, commit to marketing your products and services all of the time. It is very important to consistently market your products and services because as I have been saying for years, success is based on persistency and consistency, not magic.

Planning is also a key ingredient to the success of any small business. Developing a small business marketing plan will be one of the most crucial elements to your success. By creating your marketing plan you will eliminate the panic and need for an instant solution to financial problems because you can avoid many of the ups and downs that result from the all to common stop and start marketing. Your plan does not have to be set in stone, it can evolve as you and your business grow. The important thing is your dedication to consistency with your marketing.

The lack of persistency and consistency will lead to an unused marketing plan. This in turn will lead to spits and starts in your cash flow. Successful entrepreneurs who have a small business marketing plan make more money in less time. When you start to think of who your ideal client is and what products and services they want or need and then combine that with your marketing tools and techniques, an effective marketing plan is not far behind. Refer to Business Cards for more information.

As you are probably starting to see small business marketing is an entire process, a synergy of the individual tactics and strategies. That’s right, small business marketing is a system where the whole is greater than the sum of its parts. Another common misconception is that small business marketing is just common sense. Nothing could be further from the truth. An understanding of how small business marketing is conducted is essential for you if success is your goal. You do want results and success don?€™t you?

It?€™s all about determining the needs of your target market and then providing solutions to meet those needs. So many people believe that marketing their small business is all about running advertisements, but it isn?€™t. If you are serious about your success in business, then make understanding marketing an on-going priority.

The ultimate result of small business marketing is to attract more new customers and persuade existing customers to purchase your products or services in higher quantities and more frequently. The successful can attribute their success to having a strategic plan and following it consistently. When you create a marketing plan you will be able to compete at a higher level. Your odds of winning the game significantly improve when you take the time to create a plan.

To your success!
